Further, Eighner uses pathos to prove his argument that people are wasteful. As Eighner spent more time diving into dumpsters he became perturbed seeing how much people throw away. “I am not here by chance; the Dumpsters in this area are very rich. Students throw out many good things, including food” (Eighner 89). This example supports the argument with the use of pathos to show how people have come to start thinking differently about dumpsters.
