Reeves purpose uses diction and details to appeal to the audience.This is so he can pass the ADA(Americans with disabilities act) so that people like him can get certain rights.

First:Reeves talks about having “family values” meaning that we are all family, and that we must help the family that is hurting.this is important details that describe how and why we need to help these people. Then explaining that the ADA will help us do that.this is also why he says the ADA is very important

Next:Reeves then talks about the how scientist are finding out new ways to stop these disabilities. but they are not going to without funding we wouldn't be able to stop these disabilities.then he says these important words “the money we invest in research today is going to determine the quality of life of members of our family tomorrow.” …show more content…
He even uses the words inevitable and conquer to imply that if we can conquer outer space then we can conquer inner space.he also talks about how we got the largest economy because we made it even though it seemed impossible.
