The Unborn Child Act is an organization that argues against abortion in the pursuit of saving the lives of unborn babies. The organization, UCA, created an advertisement to encourage citizens to persuade their senators to ban abortion from happening after 20 weeks (4 months). The visual displays a baby at 20 weeks old inside of the womb of a mother ; however, the mom isn’t pictured in the photo. To persuade the audience that abortion is wrong, the ad uses emotional words to capture the audience member’s feelings. The Unborn Child Act Organization created an advertisement that suggests that viewers persuade their senators to get rid of the idea of abortion through the usage of pathos.

Abortion is now a very popular surgical operation done by many doctors onto women choosing to terminate a pregnancy. According to the U.S. Code (1111), “Murder is the unlawful killing of a human being with malice aforethought.” which means that if you kill someone you should be charged with murder. Most women want to argue the point that a fetus is not a “baby”. At 3 weeks of growth inside of the womb, the fetus’ heartbeat begins to beat and thus allowing them to be able to see motion inside of the mother’s belly. Humans have heartbeats as well as are able to eat, see, breathe, move, and more but aren’t considered just a fetus. Those planning the pre-meditated abortion may say something along the lines of it being wrong to kill a human being, but it’s not wrong to kill a zygote or a fetus. According to the ad, if America stands for abortion then they are seen as many would consider “gruesome”. In the picture, the ad states "Tell you Senator to Support the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Act and stop abortions from being allowed after 20 weeks when a child feels pain" (Heroic Media). The phrase that would trigger emotions would be the phrase saying “...stop abortions from being allowed after 20 weeks when a child feels pain” because if one was to bodily harm a child to the point where they endure gruesome pain then they should be considered “sadist”. The phrase “This child has no voice, which is why it depends on yours” is used to make the viewer associate themselves with the choice being made and empathize how it would feel to be in that sort of situation of having your life ended early because doctors and mother’s want to argue that you aren’t a human yet. This ad also goes to show that humans who stand against pro-life believe that when they were a fetus that they weren’t “human”. If a baby can feel pain at 20 weeks inside of the womb, cutting them up with surgical scissors would feel like torture. If a human at 20 months old or 20 years got cut up by surgical scissors to terminate their lives because someone felt as though they weren’t human, the person responsible for the cutting would most likely be in jail. The visual itself gives to the viewer a perfect example of what a baby looks like up to 20 weeks, and as they can see the baby is basically fully developed which says a lot about people from all over who support the idea of killing a human life. It can be inferred from the article that those who created the ad want to persuade their senator to get rid of the acceptance of abortion being doing at the time period in which they can feel all of the surgical weapons being used to stop their lives.
