In the spring of 2009, the people of Fresno disagreed on whether they should restore the San Joaquin River in hopes of bringing back the Chinook salmon or not. Fresno is the fifth largest city in California and the San Joaquin river passes through the northern part of Fresno. There are some pros that come along with restoring the river, like increasing the population of the Chinook salmon, but the cons outweigh the pros.
