Robinson City Council Meeting Summary The Robinson City Council Meeting took place on Tuesday, April 4th at 6:00PM at Robinson’s city hall building. The meeting was a committee type of task group as the members were elected officials in charge of making decisions that would benefit the city they live in (Toseland and Rivas 2017). The meeting was a scheduled monthly meeting to establish the work for the coming month and to hear from citizens. The members were Mayor Echterling; James Mastergeorge, the Mayor Pro-Tem; Craig Lemin, the City Manager; Vernon Leuschner; Jimmy Rogers. There was also another member named Steve Tindell who was absent from the meeting. Also present were about 20 city residents, a man who was to be part of a public hearing, and about 5 policemen who were to give a presentation. The demeanor of the other attendees appeared to be somewhat engaged, but it was obvious that some had very specific reasons for their attendance as they disengaged or left altogether as soon as some agenda items were completed. …show more content…
After that, the council breezed through the next 3 items and then held apublic hearing to authorize a Special Use Permit for land that would be used for a new towing business. Upon completing the first 7 agenda items, the members turned to some more lengthy aspects of the meeting. A group of Robinson policemen gave a presentation on drug enforcement and then discussed some questions regarding the subject with city council members. The members moved on to hear from a guest regarding the city’s street renovation program, which lasted the most of the rest of the meeting. Finally, council members requested for items to be placed on future agendas and then adjourned.
