Roles and Functions Paper
As a manager in health care the main role is to promote a situation that has the maximum profit and maintains the best quality and care needed. There are four major roles of managers in the health care field planning, controlling organizing and leading. “Effective managers understand how planning, organizing, leading, and controlling are used to achieve organizational success” (Education Portal 2014). A manager should insure that the environment its self thinks about the fact that we need revenue to make maximum profit. Revenue means keeping beds full. Another role of manger is creating budgets that include things like payroll; supplies, maintenance, activities, and kitchen just to name a few. Other roles of managers, are setting up meetings internally and externally. Keeping up with new state laws, and the requirements of state and federal Medicare and Medicaid laws. Of the four areas the one that is the most important would be organizing. Without the best organization which means simple things like delegating, coordination and implementing plans. Management must be able to handle change and have plans to handle all situations that can happen with many solutions to problems. In my current job I am team lead CNA. I am the one CNA the is accountable to make sure that my team does there assigned job duties. I attend all staff meeting and report back to all aides to make sure that we are all on the same page. This includes other meetings that required by my administrator. I am in a supervisor position that requires mentoring. I think that the one thing I would like to take away for this course is to learn better ways to delegate responsibility. I have found not that do not trust others to do a good job but that I am the first to volunteer to things. I need
