It summarizes the findings of both of the aforementioned documents, examines several popular cyber attack methodologies, and describes various ways to respond to these attacks. It is interesting that both documents allude to the fact that persistence on the part of humans to “wreak havoc” is the root of most security threats. Additionally, both documents unambiguously assert that the most effective way to combat unwanted activity on networks is to share any data regarding network attacks and/or attempts to hack a system. Apparently, organizations are averse to such collaboration for fear of divulging unrelated, sensitive information or because of legal concerns. ...Abstract: I was inspired to write this piece after reading too many fanfictions that start out great about the years right after the war, and then become unenjoyable as soon as they mention something about how Draco and the Malfoys are living terrible lives or plotting the rise of the next "Dark Lord." I feel like these people have completely missed Rowling's point in creating such a rich and deep antagonist in the Harry Potter series. Personally, Harry, Ron, and Hermione are the least likable characters in the series, because they were the hardest to relate to. They were too simple. Sure, they had some decisions to make, but really, all along, we knew they were the "good" guys and there was never any doubt as to whether they could be "bad." The major decision of the series, whether to be for or against Voldemort, was already made for them. Hermione was Muggle-born, Ron was from a family of well-known "blood traitors," and Harry's parents had been killed by Voldemort. For them, the only decision was whether they should react actively or passively to the threat Voldemort posed. Since they were all in Gryffindor, the outcome was already obvious. It’s a competition between the three wizarding schools of Hogwarts, Durmstrang, and Beauxbatons. A champion is chosen for each school and competes in very difficult challenges that test their skill and daring. When the students from the other schools arrive in October, the students begin putting their name in the Goblet of Fire in order to be chosen as their school's champion. Harry is shocked beyond belief when, in spite of his inability to compete because of his age, he’s chosen as the fourth school champion. What’s even worse is that Ron doesn’t believe that Harry didn’t put his name in the goblet. They get into a huge fight, and Ron stops talking to Harry. ...Hunting Snakes Snakes were an integral part of my childhood experience, and I am always surprised to remember that not everyone grew up being so aware of snakes. The most common snake around Texas is the rattlesnake. Well, actually I don't know that. I just know that my father talked a lot more about the rattlesnake than he talked about any other snake. They were both the bane and perhaps the reason for his existence. Dad tended to shoot rattlesnakes whenever he saw them, and he sometimes told the story about seeing a snake from his pickup window, stopping the truck and reaching behind the seat for his shotgun, then starting to load a shell into the gun (he always kept gun and ammunition separately) and realizing that he only had one shot gun shell with him. That made the shot more important because he knew he would only have one opportunity to shoot the snake. Then, suddenly, he saw a second snake next to the first, and realized that he was seeing two full grown rattlesnakes in some sort of mating ceremony. He carefully slid his one shell into the gun, and watched. The snakes neared each other. They seemed to meet eyes. They seemed to fall in love.
