RULES and GUIDELINES in CHEER DANCING

1. There shall be a minimum of ____________ and a maximum of _____________ cheer dancers per year level. (Spotters/lifters can be boy or girl) Dancers (boys and girls); Pep squad (mixed; maximum of 20 members)

2. There shall be no limit on instruments (tape, drums, guitar, keyboard, etc.) to be used in the cheer dancing presentation, as well as in the number of props (except for hazardous ones).

3. Only light apparatus are allowed for the cheering presentation such as ribbons, dumbbells, small flags and the like.

4. A number shall include choreography of the following: * More or less 20% for gymnastic skills (basic positions, stunts, floor skills, tumbling, pyramid building, etc.) In pyramid building, the highest level can only reach up to 2nd level including the base. Basket tossing is not allowed. * More or less 80% for dance skills (aerobics, jazz, modern dance, social dances, etc.)

5. Criteria for the performance in cheer dancing are as follows: * Choreography - 45% * Overall Impact/Projection - 15% * Synchronization - 10% * Costume - 10% * Voice Quality - 10% * Clarity of Cheer - 10% 100%

6. The duration of the presentation will be a minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes including the entrance and exit sequences. There will be a 0.5 point deduction for every excess of 10 seconds.

7. Production of costumes will depend upon the team’s chosen supplier. Thus, the team is authorized for the selection of supplier in terms of costume.

GENERAL RULES and GUIDELINES

A. SPORTS TOURNAMENT
1. All participants must be a bona fide employee of SPUQC.
2. The official list/gallery of athletes of all games shall be submitted by the Team Representatives to the Sports Committee not later than January 26, 2010.
3. Only athletes who passed the screening of their Sports Managers and have been approved by the Sports Committee shall be allowed to participate.
4. An athlete within the sports tournament will have limit participating in all events. (one event/player)
5. The maximum number of athletes as indicated in the ground rules of each event will be strictly followed.
6. Absence of entry in any event or competition by the team will be recorded as default.
7. Any participant who misbehaves himself/herself in any event or competition, such as using derogatory words and actions, or picking up a fight or quarrel, will be suspended or disqualified from further participation, depending upon the gravity of the offense. He/She will be subject to appear before the Sports Committee. 8. There will be awards for every event. Points accumulated in these events will be added to the points garnered in the other events for ranking. The highest pointer will automatically get the championship award.
9. In case of protest, the following procedures will be strictly followed:
a. Before leaving the area, the coach shall write on the score sheet that game is put under protest. b. The letter of protest includes the circumstances surrounding it and specifically stating the conditions for putting the game under protest. This will be immediately addressed and forwarded to the Sports Committee for study and deliberation on the merits of protest within.
c. The Sports Committee will release the final decision at the soonest possible time. The decision of the Committee is final and unappealable.
10. Teams that do not appear in fifteen (15) minutes after the scheduled time will lose by default.
11. A team that does not have full complement of players, and ready to play after a grace period of fifteen (15) minutes, for any particular event, will be declared losers by forfeiture.
12. Players should wear complete uniform and/or correct attire. Sports events players should be in their official team uniform. The player’s number must be permanently printed, designed or attached on their uniform. Taping the number is not allowed.
13. Due to some inevitable circumstances, changes in the schedule of games may be made by the Sports Committee but all teams will be notified at least an hour before the game starts. 14. No game shall be considered postponed or cancelled without the declaration of the Sports Committee. 15. For the sports tournament, the Amateur Rules and Regulations shall govern all games. (with modification)
16. The manner of elimination will be specified for each game of the sports tournament.
17. All teams will be given equal time in playing areas/courts of their practices. The schedule will be disseminated to all Teams.
