I am still reading “Sala’s Gift” by Ann Kirschner, currently Sala’s family is constantly writing letters to Sala encouraging her to write back. However, Sala sends as many letters as possible but believes the censors at the post office throw the letters out. Sala and Ala were also promoted in their jobs at the camp. They even have their own private room! Sala works as the Nazis personal seamstress; at one point though a soldier complains about Sala’s stitching (even though it was perfect). This frustrates Sala, so she takes the garment throws it on the floor and steps on it. The soldier then grabs Sala and hauls her over to the camp’s council. Luckily, she is only given a lecture about respect instead of being beaten for the disrespect. I
