EXAMPLE OF BIOGRAPHY
One morning on the 30th day of April 1997, a 3kg healthy baby was conceived the daughter of Lilibeth E. Del Rosario and Edwin M. Del Rosario. She was the youngest among the siblings. Unfortunately when few days passed she was diagnosed having a heart disease and needs to be operated right away. Her parents became scarce of money but thankfully God made a way for her parents to have the money needed for her operation. So that’s why they named her after Mama Mary her other name Marian because God did not leave their side when her parents were in need of help.
In her early years her parents and brothers never failed to make her felt loved and blessed. As far as she can remember they always took her with them when they were going to malls. When she entered nursery in D’ Paul Kiddie Center, One of her most memorable childhood memory was performing in a musical play in front of many people while having a bad mood as she had seen on her old photographs. She started gradeschool in La Consolacion College, a Catholic Based Curriculum. Being a student in a Catholic School made her into a more religious person. This is the period where she experienced being bullied but on the other hand this is the period where she met her first 3 best gals. They became inseparable as time goes by but when she transferred to Pasig Catholic College to continue her studies there they lost connection with each other. On the positive side when she transferred she met new friends and had seen familiar faces from her previous school. She went on fieldtrips and camping where she learned values and learned how to discipline her own self. She didn’t continued her studies in PCC considering their financial status so her parents decided that she will continue her studies in Rizal High School where her 2 elder brothers Mark and Michael graduated. It took her long enough to

...Carl Rogers--Biography and other material, on site maintained by his daughter, Natalie Rogers (who is also trained as a therapist). Carl Rogers and Education--Site providing biographical information as well as examination of Rogers's ideas about education. Introduction to Person-Centred Counselling--A clear overview by Dr. Greg Mulhauser, on CounsellingResources.com. Abraham Maslow Like Carl Rogers, Abraham Maslow is widely regarded as one of the founders of the Humanistic Approach. While less influential among therapists than Rogers, Maslow may actually be better known to the general public, because of his interest in applying psychological principles to areas like behavior in business settings. In this regard, his hierarchy of needs has been a basic concept in human resources and organizational behavior for several decades. Maslow coined the term "the Third Force" to describe the Humanistic Approach, to emphasize how it differed from the Psychodynamic and Behaviorist Approaches, which dominated psychology (at least in North America) in the 1950's. His theory emphasizes motivation as the key to understanding human behavior (an emphasis which is somewhat reminiscent of Freud's theory, though the two models focus on very different types of motives). Nonetheless, it becomes the basis of a theory of personality (as discussed in the text, talking about motives implies a person who experiences those motives!), and ends up describing the characteristics of healthy...

The five components my career portfolio consist of are consists of career goals, a resume, skill areas, certifications (diplomas, degrees, licenses, and awards), work samples, academic plan of study and references. My Career Portfolio A career portfolio consists of several tabbed sections that are in a 3-ring zipper binder. This career portfolio should be taken to interviews. My career portfolio is not complete in that it only consists of career goals, a resume, skill areas, certifications (diplomas, degrees, licenses, and awards), work samples, academic plan of study and references. The items of the career portfolio which still need to be collected are the statement of originality, work philosophy, letters of recommendation, work in progress, community service, professional memberships and certifications, and faculty and employer biographies. There is still quite a bit of research left in order to complete the portfolio collection. I expect the time frame to complete this project to be indefinite at this time. My work and school schedule keep me unbelievably busy, along with all my other responsibilities. I do not see myself having very much research time available. The two advantages I think of for having a career portfolio are that it is proof...

Essay on Dame Anita Roddick

...Dame Anita Roddick and The Body Shop: Getting Started The daughter of Italian immigrants born and raised in the UK, Anita Perella began developing her legendary work ethic and keen business sense at an early age as she and her siblings worked tirelessly in her parent’s café as children. It was very common in those days for immigrant children to labor as hard as (if not harder) than their adult counterparts and Anita was no exception. She was a hard worker but also garnered a reputation for being a “rebel” by challenging the ideas and concepts of those around her. It is undoubtedly these traits (among others)—her tireless work ethic, savvy business sense, and willingness to think outside the box—which led to the eventual creation and overwhelming success of Anita’s legacy: The Body Shop. By the mid-70’s Anita had already completed her college education and began to travel the world, drifting from one position to another—teaching in Israel, working for the United Nations in Geneva..etc—before deciding to become a student of the world by exploring other nations and cultures. In her own words: “(…) that's when I first understood the power of community and a world beyond our Western notion, and the role women could play in it. It was education through experience, and it was where I got the ideas for The Body Shop.” When she returned from her expedition Anita met and fell in love with her future husband and the father of her two daughters; Gordon Roddick. Together the couple owned...

Nursing Role in the Care of People with Dementia: Using Recovery Approach

...deterioration in emotional control, social behavioral or motivation. In view of the above symptoms, nursing care is important to help the patient in management of the condition. According to statistics It is estimated that 24.3 million people have dementia worldwide (Alzheimer’s Association, 2009) and with the United Kingdom (UK) having over 700,000 people with dementia, a condition costing the economy a staggering £17 billion a year (DH, 2009). As the dementia patients cannot explain their symptoms, care is based on the assumption that patients will express their wishes and be willing to comply (Archibald, 2003). The recovery approach in nursing people with dementia should be based largely on the documentation of the patients biography which is important in understanding how he or she responds to situations with a particular focus of the cultural and religious aspects(Hazel Heath (2010) The approach to be used by nursing in a recovery approach should include communication According to (Archibald, 2003), nurses should seek to discuss with patients the approach that they can use in caring for them. Although communication might prove to be frustrating with the patient, this opportunity offers an excellent platform to identify the most rehearsed responses that are most effective with the dementia patient. Women on the Breadlines

...Perry, Oklahoma. Meridel was born into a family of social and political activists. Her mother made a living traveling and speaking as a feminist socialist, speaking about issues important to women such as education and birth control. The influence of political and social activists in her family most likely led her to write about and speak up for people without a voice. “She said she learned early to write down what they were saying, hiding behind water troughs in the streets, under tables at home—listening. Listening to the tales of the lives of the people, her writings were grounded in these grassroots, salt-of-the-earth stories and experiences of working people, of the poor, the disenfranchised, the dispossessed.” (meridellesueur.org/biography). She had a brief acting career as a stunt actress and graced films such as The Perils of Pauline and Last of the Mohicans as an extra. After leaving her acting career behind she focused solely on her writings. She published her works throughout the 1920's until the end of the Second World War, when blacklisting of those who were involved in the socialist movement began. It was a hard time for Lesueur. During the height of the "red scare," Lesueur made her living publishing children's books, teaching writing, and holding a variety of odd jobs. (washburn.edu/reference/cks/mapping/lesueur/). By the 1970's where people were more open to accepting different political views, Lesueur's works thrived. She began to publish both new and old writings...

Critiquing

...Aims Qualitative research needs to answer questions set by the researcher (there is no hypothesis). The intended aim(s) of the research should therefore be stated and the questions the research seeks to address should be identified. The problem which initiated the research should be clearly described early in the report (Ryan Wenger 1992). In order to evaluate the value of the research it is important for the hypothesis, aims and objectives to be clearly and unambiguously stated as too many questions may indicate that too much is being attempted (Parahoo and Reid 1988). Research Design “Designing and producing research is a complex activity” (Brockopp & Hastings-Tolsma, 2003, p. 59). A well-thought-out design allows for assurance that the evidence has practicality. Literature Review A thorough literature review allows for credibility of the study. The literature review provides the foundation for the study’s significance and relationship to practice. The literature review is generally summarised in the introductory section or under a specific heading such as a review of the literature (Polit and Hungler 1997). Reference to original sources is important as information can be taken out of context and used inappropriately therefore an abundance of secondary sources should be viewed with caution as they may not provide sufficient detail or possibly distort some aspects of the original research (Polit and Hungler 1997; Burns and Grove 1993). The purpose...
