Sampling and data collection in research paper

Introduction
In this essay, I will discuss two ways for him to service professional to conduct research through sample lien and data collection. Through the use of research and he was there's a vessel can be better assist their clients ensuring their clients have the skills needed to reach their goals and objectives.
What is the purpose of sampling
Sampling allows the human service professional to research one narrow topic at a time instead of a whole group "A major reason for studying samples rather than the whole group is that the whole group sometimes is so large that studying it is not feasible" ( Monette, D. R., Sullivan T. J., & DeJong, C. R. (2011). A human service professional will receive better information through sampling; a sample is one or more elements of a population.

The characteristics of probability and nonprobability

"Probability sampling techniques is too sure that each element has an equal chance of inclusion"(Monette, D. R., Sullivan T. J., & DeJong, C. R. (2011). There are four aspects of probability sampling, simple random sampling, systematic sampling, stratified sampling, and area sampling. When probability sampling is not always the appropriate technique to use "Nonprobability sample's in which the investigator does not know the probability of beads populations elements inclusion in the sample"(Monette, D. R., Sullivan T. J., & DeJong, C. R. (2011). There are five characteristics for nonprobability sampling evaluating sampling, snowball sampling, photo sampling, purpose sampling, and dimensional sampling.

The scales of measurement used in research
There are different methods that a personal can use to gather the information that they need to their research, all of these methods different from their levels of measurement. "Measurements refers to the process of describing abstract concepts in terms of Pacific indicators by assigning numbers are other symbols to these indications in accordance with rules" (Monette, D. R., Sullivan T. J., & DeJong, C. R. (2011).The different levels of measurements are simple measures, ordinal measures, and interval measures, and ratio measures.

What are the types of reliability?
"Reliability refers to measures ability to yields consistent results each time it is applied" (Monette, D. R., Sullivan T. J., & DeJong, C. R. (2011). There are different types of reliability such as test-retest, and then going back and retesting, that group again on the same topic. Multiple forms "The multiple forms technique relies on the two forms appearing to the respondent as though there were only one, long measures so that the respondents do not realize they are taking the same test twice"(Monette, D. R., Sullivan T. J., & DeJong, C. R. (2011). and internal consistency approaches "internal consistency approaches to reliability use a single scale that is administered to one group of people to develop an estimate of reliability" ( Monette, D. R., Sullivan T. J., & DeJong, C. R. (2011).

What are the types of validity?
" validity refers to the accuracy of a measure"( Monette, D. R., Sullivan T. J., & DeJong, C. R. (2011), there are different types of validity such as face validity that assess whether or not there is a logical relationship between a variable and prosed measure. content validity or sampling validity "Which has to do with whether a measuring device covers the full range of Meanings or forms that are included in a variable to measure"( Monette, D. R., Sullivan T. J., & DeJong, C. R. (2011). Criterion validity "Established validity by showing a correction between a measuring device and some other criterion or standard that we know believe accurately measured the variable under consideration" (Monette, D. R., Sullivan T. J., & DeJong, C. R. (2011).concurrent validity compares results to another measuring device. Predictive validity predicts some future state of affairs. In addition, construct validity "Involves relating an instrument to an overall theoretical framework to determine whether the instruments is correlated with all the concepts and propositions that comprise the theory" (Monette, D. R., Sullivan T. J., & DeJong, C. R. (2011).

Surveys methods

By completing telephone surveys, it saves money and time because telephone surveys are cheap and fast. The disadvantages of telephone surveys are that you are not able to devote much time to the interview and telephone surveys prevent you from seeing body language. Online and website services have several advantages such as the speed, and low cost for the survey and that through the internet you can reach people from anywhere. Although there are several advantages, there are also disadvantages to online and website surveys such as the fact that not everyone has access to the internet and some people ignore survey requests. Focus groups, there advantages to focus groups such as they are flexible, low cost and you can get quick results. Although there are advantages there are also disadvantages to focusing groups such as in larger groups in is harder to get precise results.
Which survey research method would I use?
If I were conducting a research survey, I would prefer to complete the survey through a focus group, because I will be able to look at each person’s body language and reaction. I could also see how each member reacts to one another, and the survey would feel more personal.
Conclusion
In this essay, I discussed the purpose of sampling and the characteristics of probability and nonprobability as well as data collection and the measurement used in research. I also addressed the types of reliability and validity in research and the advantages and disadvantages to the different methods used in research and surveys.

Research allows human service professionals to understand and apply what was learned in research to better assisting clients to accomplish their objectives and goals. There are different ways to conduct research in human services. I will be discussing two ways to conduct research which are sampling and data collection. I will discuss the purpose of sampling and data collection and how it relates to human service. Sampling Sampling is one way to conduct research in human services. Sampling can be obtained from a certain population, depending on the research. The sample is generally composed of one or two elements which are obtained from the population being studied. In order to attain a preferable sample, first you have to identify the type of population to get a sample. In case you are not able to obtain a good sample, it is more likely to affect your conclusion. There are two types of sampling, which are probability sampling and non-probability sampling. Probability sampling can be used to achieve every element that has the opportunity to be incorporated in the sample. Probability sampling is usually done randomly like how people pull names out of a hat or drawing straws. There...

...Data Collection Paper (MLB) Laura L. Mason, Becky Matlock, and Nichole Noble RES/341 June 8, 2011 David Morrisson Data Collection Paper (MLB) Data collection is an important part of research and it requires that the right information be collected. Because of many types of data research it is imperative to make sure the data collected is present in the final analysis. This data can be shown in different formats such a graphical or tabular. Team A has chosen the Major League Baseball (MLB) data set and feels the population and the type of data collected will provide good resources for surveys to make informed decisions. Team A will review the types of ways data can be shown as well as some of the ethical issues that researchers may run into. Our research involves looking at the 30 MLB teams in how the statistics vary. The data set is a accumulation of information that includes what league they are in, the year of erection of each stadium, capacity of each stadium, salary of the team, wins for the season, batting average, attendance, earned run average (ERA), stolen bases (SB), and home runs (HR). The sample for this research topic is very sufficient. It includes all the teams in the league and portrays the same information for all of the teams. The population (teams) and the categories listed in the data set will provide Team A the information to complete our research into...

...MGT-491 QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS AND RESEARCH FOR MANAGEMENT Submitted to: Prof. OSMAN BIN SAIF Research: The word research is composed of two syllables, re and search. “Re” is a prefix meaning again, a new or over again. “Search” is a verb meaning to examine closely and carefully, to test and try, or to probe. Together they form a noun describing a careful, systematic, patient study and investigation in some field of knowledge, undertaken to establish facts or principles. Research is basically based on primary and secondary sources. In primary source we collected original data via research "instruments" (surveys, interviews, questionnaires, "focus groups," etc.) to produce new knowledge on a particular topic. In addition to primary sources and original instruments another source is secondary data. The secondary sources are used to provide an overview of existing published knowledge on a topic and possible current debates about the topic. It also defines how the new knowledge described in a paper differs from what is already known. Definition: “The process of finding solutions to a problem after a thorough study and analysis” (Sekran, 2006) “Systematic inquiry that provides information to guide decision” (Cooper & Schindler, 2001) “Studious study of a subject that is intended to discover new facts or test new ideas, the activity of finding information about something that one is interested in or need to know about” Research is a process of collecting, analyzing...

...Subject: u09d2 Reframing for Action Research Introduction The purpose of this paper is to discuss aspects of courseroom project approach using action research required in the presentation of dissertation. The paper targets populations, sampling plan, data-collection methods, and use of secondary data sources and design applications, and any implications on data analysis, distributions or application of specific analysis on framing and any other research problems. Reframing The use of frames in research projects encompass the process of identifying boundaries such as; power, knowledge, funding structures at the research council, and inter-council level (Oughton & Bracken, 2009). Reframing is the ability to restructure research or find other ways through difficulties roots leading to new exciting avenues of knowledge. Subsequently, putting better frames or engulfing the initial frames is reframing. The success of reframing is the positive outcome after re-evaluation and selection of better alternatives. Action Research Approach Examining collected data from empirical research before presentation of the dissertation is a requirement for research participatory action. Researchers ask specified questions like check and balance to discover any weaknesses in the study of the target populations, sampling plan, data collection methodology and other secondary data sources, and research designs plus any threats in the data analysis and internal validity. Introduction To Research Methodology

...RESEARCH METHODOLOGY 1.1. INTRODUCTION Research methodology is perhaps the most significant aspect of a research study (Blessing & Chakrabarti 2009). It is with the aid of research methodology the course of the research is determined. In other words as stated by (S. R. Brown 1996), the research methodology is the very skeletal structure of the research study. Methodology according to many researchers is considered to be the deciding factor behind the success and effectiveness of the research study (Kitzinger 1994). This is mainly because of the fact, it is based on the very method of data collection and data analysis outcomes of the research study get determined (Davison 1998). The methodology also helps to decide the process of data collection...

...Research Process and Methodologies Study Guide Andrea Aguilar HCS/465 November 23, 2015 Jeanine Maine Research Process and Methodologies Study Guide This paper will have information in regards to research methodologies, and what style can be effective for research. I will be explaining the steps in the research process. I will summarize the difference between a hypothesis and a research question. I will be explaining the types of research methodologies. Including the types of data collection tools used in health care research. This paper will have some sampling methodologies. Also the types of statistical analyses. Explain the steps in the research process There are many different styles in the research process. However, each style does have the same steps in the research process. According to Priest and Roberts (2015) there are eight steps that need to be taken in consideration for research. The first step is to identify the problem. This can also be developing a research question. To identify a problem or question, one must gather some knowledge or information that is needed by the source. The second step is reviewing the literature. By reviewing the literature, the researcher must review the literature related to what was identified as the problem. This step provides foundational knowledge about the problem area. The third step is clarifying the problem. After the literature has been reviewed, the researcher must narrow it down to what the...
