SCENERIO PLAN
Some possible career paths: * Elementary Teacher * Volleyball Teacher * Chef * Baker * Art Teacher * Business Person * Designer * Flight Attendant * Food Inspector
First scenario plan is being an elementary teacher, for the age of a toddler to age three. I want to become an elementary teacher because I love kids. Children are adorable and it is never boring because they are so active. They need to be watched over the whole time, it is easy to entertain them, and they listen to teachers because they are afraid of being in trouble. To become an elementary teacher I would have to go to teachers college, have experience with children before hand, I should apply to programs at schools that have courses for child youth education.
Rank order: 1. Personal interest 2. Money 3. Political 4. Social
Drivers that will affect my choice include the follow: * Political * Low job rate * If in debt, salaries are at stake * Social * Communication with teachers and coworkers * Negative equity * Money * Easy money * High salaries * Personal interest * Enjoy being around children * Enjoy interacting with children
Positive effect of these four drivers:
Political driver, if the province or areas are in need of more teachers than I would be able to get a job as an elementary teacher because there is a high rate for teachers to teach child. If there would ever be another time for baby bombers then I would be lucky to gain a job because teachers necessary when there are a lot of child and also each class can only have a set amount of children per class, schools would have to hire more and more teachers to teach the children.
Social driver, communication with others is an important part of any kind of career…...

Scenario Evaluation Plan

...Scenario Evaluation Plan Karen Crawford HSM/270 Dakira Starks-Walker 12/29/2012 As you read this paper you will find that it is going to be about a fictional program scenario that I have chosen to work with. The scenario that I have chosen is scenario three PEACE Domestic Violence Agency. Also it will be comparing program planning with program evaluation in human services organizations and how the components are related. It will be identifying specific examples of how program planning and evaluation interrelate in the scenario that was chosen. Last it will be identifying technical and political aspects of program planning and evaluation that may be encountered in the scenario and how the aspects could affect the planning and evaluation process. After reviewing the material provided about program planning and program evaluation in human service organizations it seems as though they do compare to each other. According to the reading it states that “When planned carefully, these two set of activities can be integrated into an organized set of ongoing operations that promote and support each other” (Mika, 1996, p. 6). “Program planning and evaluation are both the process and the product of the political and economic environments” (Yuen & Terao, 2003). So from what can be understood they both are a process, but they do differ in how they process things in an organization. They way that both of the components are related is once one has his or her plan in order then...

Scenario Evaluation Plan

...Scenario Evaluation Plan Deanna Potter HSM 270 Septemeber 3, 2015 Florence Wisn Scenario Evaluation Plan One of the most important steps that need to be developed and implemented in a program is the evaluation plan. The evaluation plan will tell if a program has been a failure or success. Having the right tools with accurate reporting, plus making sure no bases has played a role in the evaluation, will tell you if the programs missions and goals have been achieved or not. PEACE Domestic Violence agencies have a purpose, and the purpose of the Peace Domestic Violence Agency is helping provide the victims with support, shelter, advocacy and education. Giving the victims and those who are affected by domestic violence empowerment will also help them to break away from the abuse. There is a wide range of evaluations that can be used, and it would be best to do some research on the different types to see what works best for the agency or organization. The evaluation plan that would work best for the PEACE Domestic Violence Agency would be a project-wide evaluation with an empowerment approach. A project-wide evaluation will work with the agency's domestic violence program because it not only involves the victims it also involves the staff in the evaluation development and implementation processes. With PEACE being committed to reducing domestic violence and sexual assaults, they can do that by educating the victims and the community. Education will help make a......

Scenario Evaluation Plan

...Scenario Evaluation Plan HSM/270 Scenario Evaluation Plan The purpose of the PEACE Domestic Violence Agency is to promote a sense of security, support, and empowerment for individuals and families who are affected by domestic violence. To continue helping those who suffer from domestic abuse, the PEACE agency will develop an evaluation plan using a simple framework design. This agency wants to assess the work it is performing, and the reason for evaluation is it wants to know the effects its services have on people’s lives. The program wants to improve upon those efforts, but does not want to continue to exert time and resources into efforts which are not helpful. The evaluation plan the PEACE Domestic Violence Agency will use will be a project-wide evaluation using the empowerment approach. This form of evaluation plan will work perfectly with the agency’s domestic violence program because it concentrates on the purpose of the program and provides structure for the big picture. In addition, it involves program staff in the evaluation development and implementation, which enables them to feel empowered. The first step in developing this type of plan is to “identify the answer to the big question” (Yuen & Terao, 2003, p.53) which, in the case of the PEACE agency, is whether or not the incidents of domestic violence can be reduced and how. Another question could be whether or not educating people about domestic violence can play a key role in......

Scenario Evaluation Plan

...enario Scenario Evaluation Plan 3/4/13 HSM/270 Dakira Starks-Walker Scenario Evaluation Plan Evaluation is one of the most important steps in the development and implementation of any program or project. As imperative as it is to lay a solid foundation through mission, goals, and objectives, it is equally as important to have a way to define success or failure through use of appropriate tools, accurate reporting, and proper evaluation techniques. Deciding whether to use a process evaluation format or outcome evaluation can be challenging, but often a coordinated system is most telling. The main objective of any evaluation technique is to provide the state of the agency and how well or poorly their programs are working, what may need to be changed, and how well they continue to meet their mission, goals and objectives. The PEACE Domestic Violence is an organization to reduce victim trauma, empower survivors, and promote recovery through direct services. PEACE is committed to reducing the incidence of sexual assault and domestic violence through education and strives to challenge societal norms and beliefs that condone and perpetuate violence in the community. The mission, goals, and objectives that are presented in the scenario are fairly generalized. Without an adequate, detailed description of how the program will be administrated and implemented, it is nearly impossible to perform a process evaluation. Process evaluations serve to collect the......

Scenario Plans

...Three Scenarios Upon graduation my long term goal is to be employed at a fortune 500 company working in the business development department. I would be responsible for making key executive decisions that would improve the overall financial condition of the company. In order to secure this type of positions I need to network with hiring companies as well as search the internet job sites such as Monster or Career Plus. I am willing to work my way up in the company to secure this type of position. This will help me get my foot in the door. Through hard work and applying myself I will be able to get promoted within the company. Once graduation takes place I would like to start my own company. The way that I will do this is find a need that our society needs and find an existing product or service that can fill that need. If that is not available I would locate the necessary resources to create that product or service to fill that need. One possible area that I would look at would be the franchising business. I do not have a problem with competition in fact I feel that it is healthy. It helps companies stay sharp and competitive. I would develop my company to be the best product or service for the consumer. I would apply my work ethic as well as my concern for the consumer. I realize that it takes time to grow your own company, in fact I am sure that we would take at least three to five years to be in the black. Being patience and persistent will help in achieving this......

Project and Scenario Planning

...Both scenario planning and project management are two great planning techniques. There are a few differences between the two. Project management is planning, organizing, securing, and managing assets to successfully complete goals and objectives of a project. Risks are one of the important factors to consider when dealing with project management. These risks often serve as reactive rather than proactive solutions. The main objective of project management is to make sure that all the project goals are achieved within the predetermined restraints. Typical constraints such as time and budget. The Project management cycle works in four stages: Define, plan, implement and close. Scenario planning is a strategic planning method that some organizations use to make flexible long term decisions. This is a good handy management tool. It consists of possibilities while taking into account the many forces surrounding business operations. Scenario planning deals with simulated and hypothetical future events and invites organizations to make contingency plans for such an event occurring. The main focus of scenario planning is to examine what could happen if a particular decision is implemented. This planning technique begins with defining all applicable factors that could lead to both positive and negative consequences. This could be the quality of production equipment or the company’s assets. These are internal factors. External factors would be the state of the economy, political......

Reflection on Scenario Planning

...Having to learn of the existence of a tool called scenario analysis was itself a blessing for me. Scenario planning affords us the opportunity to make decisions in context of various futures that may play out. It incites us to challenge our assumptions about the future. By basing our plans and decisions in line with the most likely scenario, we can be ensured that our decision are sound even if conditions change According to Ged Davis “the use of scenarios does not imply we will be absolutely right – we only need to be less surprised than those who are not thinking in this light … ideally, to be able to interpret what others see as crises as normal human affairs”. Scenario planning can be applied at the work place, it can also be applied to one’s personal life. I decided to include in this report a demonstration of how scenario planning can be applied at the work place. The following steps illustrate this 1. Problem definition – The problem in this case is how a particular project in the company can be completed within budget at the end of the scenario horizon i.e. end of 2016 2. Data gathering – The next thing to do is to identify trends, factors that may affect the plan. Here I am looking at trends such as the political situation in the company - will there be prolonged strikes at some point? How will this affect the plan? Another point to consider is cost of hire? Will this go up during the course of the year? Or will the schedule be affected due to unavailability...

Scenario Planning

...* What is scenario planning? Under what conditions is it useful? How important do you think scenario planning is as a context for international marketing planning? Scenario planning is defined as strategic planning method that organization use to make flexible long term plans based on generating a number of “what if” situations and then options on how they might respond to those situations( Keeley, 2011). In other word scenario planning a method for learning about the future by understanding the nature and impact of the most uncertain and important driving forces affecting the business. It is strategy tool used to discover potential future environments in order to understand how today’s strategic decisions will have an impact on an organizations in times to come. The key elements in scenario planning are “creative thinking, imagination, an informal methodology and use of qualitative, subjective information” scenario planning does not predict the future; rather it considers the complete scope of likely forces that might have impact on an organization. These may be intellectual, natural, social, political, economic, cultural or technological. Scenario planning is an important strategic tool for the business. Marketers can make choices through the scenario planning. The options can be screened by matching them to possible scenarios. Scenario planning provides tools for an organization to respond critical changes. It provides methods for......

Strategic Planning at Ups

...9-306-002 REV: JUNE 19, 2006 DAVID A. GARVIN LYNNE C. LEVESQUE Strategic Planning at United Parcel Service We fully recognize that it is not possible to develop a true strategic plan more than a few years out and that business plans should have an even shorter horizon. But we are convinced that it is possible and wise, indeed necessary, to develop a set of very long-range scenarios that can form the foundation for our future strategic plans. — Michael (Mike) J. Eskew, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, United Parcel Service (UPS) As Mike Eskew walked through the long, open atrium of UPS’s corporate headquarters late in March 2005, he thought about his upcoming lunch meeting with Vice President of Corporate Strategy Vern Higberg. Higberg was preparing a presentation for the senior management strategy committee, the Strategy Advisory Group, on improvements to the strategic-planning process. While the company had made major progress in planning for the future over the past 10 years, Eskew had charged Higberg and his colleagues with developing recommendations for moving forward, citing one of his predecessors, who had said, “The future of our company will be no better or worse than the quality of planning we do to prepare for it.” Company Background History In 1907, 19-year-old Jim Casey borrowed $100 from friends to start the small company that eventually became UPS. From its humble origins delivering messages for the city of Seattle, Washington,......

...implementation plan in which you recommend ways of implementing, monitoring and adjusting the BCP. For the task of creating a Business Continuity Plan (BCP), I will follow a logical and systematic formula for implementation, monitoring and reviewing the plan for United Health Group. The goal is to minimize the impact of any disruption by containing it within a predictable and predetermined period of time. To do this, I recommend that this plan be developed and implemented with as many preventative controls, contingency resources, and procedures designed to allow the organization to quicky bounce back from any long-term business interruption. With this document I’ll present a workable DR plan that focuses not only on safeguarding critical data but also on the restoration of all normal business functions. The process for developing a sound Disaster Recovery plan will involve many layers of detail from the obvious to the not so obvious. Since disasters are by their nature unpredictable, this DR plan must be thorough enough to provide a certain amount of relief to know that if one does occur, the affects on the business will not be catastrophic. Disaster Recovery Topics: 1. Secure executive-level leadership commitment Senior leadership buy-in and support is critical to the long-term success of any enterprise level initiative. ...archive of this journal is available at www.emeraldinsight.com/0025-1747.htm Crises, scenarios and the strategic management process David Pollard and Sabine Hotho Dundee Business School, University of Abertay, Dundee, UK Abstract Purpose – The aim of this exploratory paper is to consider the strategic importance of crisis management and integration of crisis planning with the organisation’s strategy processes, in particular the utilisation of scenario planning as a crisis planning activity. Design/methodology/approach – A review of the crisis management literature was undertaken and key issues identified, subsequently strategic aspects of crisis management were developed in the context of scenario planning. Findings – The paper contains a discussion of major factors related to a strategic approach to crisis management and a more proactive approach to building relationships with the media. Particular attention should be given to the roles and responses of the media and agencies acting on behalf of the company, as both should been treated in the same way as other relatively powerful stakeholders. The authors suggest that firms can obtain significant advantages through proactive preparation for major relevant contingencies, and its incorporation into the strategic management process. Originality/value – This paper brings together the debate on the strategic position of crisis management with scenario planning processes to provide a mechanism for designing, evaluating and......

Communication Channel Scenarios

...COMMUNICATION CHANNEL SCENARIOS COMMUNICATION CHANNEL SCENARIOS Scenario 1 For the first scenario, the ideal channel will be the oral communication. Specifically a team meeting, this is the perfect way to communicate all the instructions that have been provided by the Vice President of Operations. Using this method we can avoid some obstructions or noise that could produce some distortion in the message that we intend to deliver. By doing a team meeting, and having in consideration the time given to develop a marketing plan, with the oral communication is the fastest way to deliver the message and quickly have feedback from the team members with any doubts or suggestions that can be applied to the project. Having said that the oral communication is the best method for this scenario, but in the case if one or more team members could not be possible to be present in the meeting also we have another method that we can use to communicate with each other, this one is the video conference. After all the research work and having completed the marketing plan to introduce the beverage to the global market, it’s time to convey the marketing plan to the Vice President of Operations via oral and written communication. With the oral we can explain all about the plan to the V.P.O. and having his feedback at the same time clarifying any doubts that may arise while making the presentation. With the written communication, is for document all the information to review it or use it...
