School finishes at 2.30 p.m.

Nowadays, there is an argument about finishing school earlier than usual and there are some different reactions on this. The one who agree think that it will give students more free time and they will get benefit out of this. Others think that students will have too much time relaxing so there is still a question if this solution will truly benefit students.

Those who agree with finishing school at 2.30 p.m. would say that it will make students have more free time. They can not only relaxed but also do something else that they are interested in such as sports and music in those free time and that will make students have their own talent in either spots or music. Moreover they can review and studying on the subjects that they are not understand when they are in classes. If they have any question they can also go and ask teacher in those free time which will benefit students a lot.

On the other hand, it is widely accepted that not every student is interested in playing sports, music or reading books. Those students would have too much time relaxed and doing nothing anyway. Moreover, too much homework that they are given on each day will make student too busy to do sports or something else and normally students should finish their homework before doing other activities. Furthermore, Thai education system wasn’t built to be able to support every student interest which is different from America that students have opportunities to do sports and clubs that they are interested in yet they got support from their school and they don’t have tons of homework everyday.

In conclusion, I would say that school finishing at 2.30 p.m. will benefit the one who will use it in a useful way. However, I still don’t think school finishing earlier will make any change in student lives but reasonable amount of homework will make students have more time to...

Over the years subjects like education, marriage, technology, and many other things have gone up or down in the priority of peoples life. This has caused society to drastically change its look over the past one hundred years. One of the most evident differences between the generations is how people look at and use technology on a day to day basis. Things such as cell phones and the internet were unheard of during the Traditionalist, and much of the Baby Boom, and Gen. X eras. These days, anyone living in a 1st world country has exposure to many different types of technology everyday. A large change that technology has brought about has come in the field of communication. Many from the Traditionalist and Baby Boomer Generation believe in face-to-face interaction between one another whether it be in the workplace or just talking with friends. (1) These persons may fault younger generations for working remotely, and for communicating amongst one another too often in other ways. (1) Many also view this way......

Hard Work Pays Off

...what you need to do to accomplish something from the efforts that you put forth just to finish it. Also, knowing that you worked hard for something and you gave your very best doing your work, is a reward just by itself. The time in my life that made me start to believe that hard work really pays off is when I graduated in my 6th grade. I have realized that since I was in my 1st grade I was working hard to be in the honor roll. I always want to make my parents proud of me. I just love that overwhelming feeling of accomplishment when you finish something and you can make someone happy. Seeing my parents smile whenever I tell them I’m in the honor roll just makes me feel happy too. When I started high school I still maintained being a hard working person. I got an academic scholarship and I was accepted in the Special Science Curriculum in our school. We have 2 subjects of math and 2 subjects of science. We were more advanced than the other students in our school. It was a bit hard for me to maintain my honor roll though, because there is a lot competition going on with my other classmates. Most of them are smart but that didn’t hinder me. I worked a lot harder. I stayed up all night to review and finish all my projects on time. I passed my entire test and quizzes, maintained a good grade and I go to school all the time. All of that hard work really pays off. When I graduated from high school I was still in the honor roll. In conclusion, I think giving your best efforts,......

...My Grandma Goes To School Just Like I Do Natalie Warren English 121 English Composition Instructor: Kathy Conner April 18, 2011 I hope that by the time you finish reading my paper; you will know why this old grandma decided to go back to school. On my birthday, Oct. 8, 2010, I woke up that morning and decided that I was going back to school. I had toyed around with the idea for a long time, but was never really serious enough to do anything about it. I thought I was too old. I also thought that I never would be able to afford it, but I met someone that was as nearly as old as I am, and she had gone back 2 years ago. She convinced me to check out financial help, and how she was doing it. I toyed around with it for a while, and then I just woke up that morning and decided that what I wanted to do. After I had told every one of my intentions, my little granddaughter was overheard telling one her friends that her grandma was going to school just like she was. So I hope that by the time you finish reading this paper, you will know what made this old grandma want back to school. Hi Bob

...philosophy for all of you is that you reach your greatest potential as a person first and then as a student-athlete. Please notice that I did not say my primary philosophy is that you win or final or make a certain meet, etc. REACHING A DESIRED RESULT IS NOT THE PURPOSE OF SPORTS!! Are results a part of sport? Absolutely! Are results a valuable part of sport? Absolutely! But, the value of results is what they reveal, NOT what they can give us! If a desired result finish is your primary reason for diving then you will find yourself experiencing at different times; anxiety, frustration, extreme emotional high’s and low’s, in some cases severe depression and mini anxiety/panic attacks. All of this happens because one is trying to find their identity and they want others to see them as valuable because of a place finish. I know this is much easier said than done and is an area that I battle as a coach just as much as you. But, together we can learn, grow and overcome this lie that if we achieve a desired result finish then we will be ‘significant, important, cool, worthy of praise, worthy of being looked up to, blah, blah, blah’ “Diving is what you do, it is not who you are” Now, there are some things on the goal sheet that you are stating a desired result, for example; goal GPA, dream goals, season goals, but keep in mind this is simply so we can put a destination in the GPS machine, but once we start driving the goal is on the process/steps/directions and not......

Going Back to School

...Why I decided to go back to school I would honestly have to say that my decision of going back to school has to be the most adult decision I have made. So many pros and cons were involved in this decision. Although going back to school can certainly be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, it is not a decision that I could make selfishly. A solid support structure is one of the keys to seceding in this journey. I needed to know that my fiance was willing and able to support me in the decision I made. I also needed my family’s support to know that the decision I made was the right one. A huge advantage of returning to school at an older age is that I will appreciate learning in a way that was not possible before. This life experience will give me a perspective of what life is really about. I fell like this time around I will enjoy learning and my grades will be reflective of this.   I needed to complete what I set out to do when I was younger. That is why I decided to finish school and actually finish something I have started. My parents also had a big part in my decision. I know that they worked really hard for us to go to school. I know that they will be very proud to see any of us finish school and show for it. Another big denominator in my decision was how now a days you are only worth anything if you have a degree. My decision was made because I want to make something out of myself, and I know that I am capable of doing it. I don’t want to have a......

15 to Finish

...In a recent poll of high school seniors asking how many credit hours per semester they should take when they go to college; more than 50 percent indicated 12 hours as an ideal college course load. Though 12 hours is a full-time course load, it is impossible for a student to earn a bachelor's degree within four years unless a student takes an additional six hours during the summer. The primary route to earning a bachelor’s degree within four years is to successfully complete 15 credit hours per semester, for a total of 30 credit hours annually. To improve college graduation rates and encourage on-time completion, the state of Georgia has launched 15 to Finish, a proven advisement, retention, progression, and graduation initiative that encourages students to take 15 credits per semester, thereby spending less time and money to earn a degree. The goal of Complete College Georgia and 15 to Finish is to provide better information and educate all students on tuition and fees, graduation rates and job opportunities to ensure successful college completion. The 15 to Finish initiative is important because many students express a desire to graduate within four years. Colleges are referred to as either four-year or two-year institutions, but most students are taking longer to graduate. In fact, if 100 students entered college today in the state of Georgia, only 11 students would graduate on time at a four-year college and only five would graduate on time at a two-year......
