Why You Should Have Sealcoating Applied To Your Parking Lot

Parking lots take a lot of abuse from all the cars and trucks rolling over them everyday. Plus, they are usually in direct sunlight with very little shade, and since they're so wide, rain doesn't roll off of them as quickly as it rolls off a narrow driveway. All these things add up to your parking lot showing wear and tear before you know it. One way to keep your lot looking its best is to apply a sealcoat. A sealcoat keeps it looking fresh and it also adds a layer of protection against the elements. Here's why a sealcoat is a good investment for your parking lot no matter how large or small it is.

Sealcoating Covers Imperfections In Color

Sealcoating is a thin layer much like paint. It's dark, so it makes the surface of your parking lot dark again, just like when it was new. The coating also covers oil and dirt stains so the surface of your lot has a uniform color again. The only thing sealcoating doesn't cover up is damage such as cracks and potholes. Damage will show right through a sealcoat so the cracks and holes must be repaired before sealcoating is applied. Sun exposure, weather conditions, and traffic erode the coating and when it's gone the asphalt is unprotected.
