Why are you pursuing a degree at ITT Technical Institute?

I’m pursuing a degree to have a successful future and a career that I like. Also a degree

gives you knowledge and more opportunities when looking for a job. I chose ITT

because I think it’s the school that best fits me. ITT can give me the necessary skills in

my field of study. A degree can give you confidence and a sense of achievement if you

graduate. With a degree you will most likely get paid more than those who don’t have a

degree or never had the chance to go to college. A degree gives you a lot other than

future and money but it also can give you respect and better communication with others.

 What are at least two goal you have set for yourself in general? These

goals can be related to your school, personal life, o professional life. Why

have you selected these goals?

One of my goals in life is to have a happy and successful career and not to worry

about money and stuff like that. In school I want to have good grades and

not worry about failing because that will not get me where I want to be in life and as a

professional. I need to be a better communicator because sometimes I forget that I’m

not always right and everyone knows something that the other person don’t.

In life I just want to better all the time and keep learning because everyday is a learning

experience. I selected these goals because is where I got to improve.

 What are at least two goals that you have set for yourself in this class? Why?

I want to learn as much as possible and try to get better every time. Because it’s for my

Future and my own good. Learn and understand. Hope to pass with no lower than a C.

Better understanding of this material and try to come to class everyday. Do all my

Homework and help myself. Another goal is try and extra work and study as much as

Possible. Stay focus and no sleep in class. I will ask a question if needed because if I

don’t I will probably fail that material.

...Blackboard folder: Project, Parts I&II\Portfolio Project, part I This project has three goals. The first is to compare (contrast?) the investment practices of eight legendary investors to the theoretical methods considered in this class. The second is to give you an opportunity to work with real data, albeit over an unrealistically short time horizon. The third and most important goal is that the investor and stock selection process be interesting and fun. Please do not let it turn into a huge time commitment. The assignment is as follows. Part I 1. Go to the Project folder on our website. There you will find links to the biographies of 8 legendary investors. The chapters describing the investors come from John Train's books, The Money Masters and The New Money Masters. Browse the investor profiles and select an investor that interests you. 2. Read the chapter that describes your chosen investor. 3. Choose one stock that reflects your investor's stock selection style. Links to helpful stock-screening websites can be found in the Webliography on eCollege or External Links on Blackboard. Your stock's price must be reported on the Yahoo! Finance web site (link in Webliography or External Links) and have weekly price data going back to July 5, 2011. 4. Go to finance.yahoo.com and download the weekly price series for your stock. To do this, enter your stock's ticker symbol in the ‘Get Quotes’ box on the Yahoo! Finance home page and click on Go....
