I’ve always wondered what kind of child I was. Through this self analysis I’ve found out quite a few things about my younger self. As a child I exhibited a secure style of attachment, according to my mother. My separation and reunion isn’t quite binary as I lived in a large family as part of collectivist society. This allowed me to have multiple caregivers whenever I was distressed. My mother specifically recalls a time in which she had to leave and started to cry, however quickly after she saw my cousin pick me up which soothed me. There was an outlier with one of my caregivers, my uncle, Bob. Whenever he would take care of me, I was energetic and excited, as I normally was. When Bob would leave, I would not be soothed as easily and would …show more content…
I know that I am worthy of being loved and wouldn’t have anyone tell my otherwise. I also have the same attitude toward being responded to. When I people choose to hurt me or their actions end up hurting me, I don’t believe that I deserve it or that it was my fault. I recognize I have my flaws, as does everyone, I never feel as though they would be a reason to feel any less of myself. When it comes to my internal working model of others, I’ve been back and forth on how much I trust others and their ability to be there for me. I was bullied as a kid which led me to be distrustful, while at the same time still trying to have faith in people. In most of my relationships, I would go in with the mindset of trust but ended up let down. This led to me questioning my relationships as a whole and other’s ability to be there for me. With the years this has subsided as I’ve always had a very strong support group in the form of my friends. I’ve never felt significantly let down by my friends. This leads to an uneven dynamic when it comes to my internal working model of others. While I chose to trust, I’ve been let down countless times before. This is countered by the unconditional support I’ve had from my friends. Overall, I would say I have a positive internal working model of others.

This meant I saw little of my aunt, who became like a mother. As I was getting older, my mother became worn out by the years of work and parenting, leading her to become a mix of authoritative and permissive at first but eventually becoming permissive. Depending on the situation, she would either be understanding and let it slide or punish me by yelling and making sure I know better next time. In beginning she enforced her rules but as time went on, my older sister disobeyed her with little consequence. I began to follow in her footsteps and slowly but surely mother became permissive, as she realized she failed in enforcing her rules. She would show love by taking us out place and telling us but she didn’t expect much of this. Ultimately, this led to her becoming permissive up till this

...Self-Analysis My environment was not very stable growing up. The definition of “dysfunctional” definitely comes to mind when looking back on the family unit that I was raised with. However, I do recall that watching how others around me socialized and interacted taught me that there were other ways of living and loving and I was determined to learn them. From an early age, I learned in bible school to treat people the way I wanted them to treat me, ie. The Golden Rule. I also learned that regardless of how I was treated in my home life by my siblings and parental figures, I could CHOOSE to treat others differently. I always knew that the way my father believed he should speak, interact, care for and discipline us was not the right way. As a child, I watched my neighborhood friends interact with their families, and it opened my eyes to how a normal family treats one another. For instance, I recall a certain neighborhood boy who always smelled on the school bus. Other children were so cruel to him; I would listen to them taunt him every day. One day, I stood up and socked one of his bullies in the nose. From that day forward, Wyatt Burkett and I built a friendship based on loyalty and mutual respect. It is surprising that my ability to stand up for my beliefs caused more people to respond to me and become my friend. I learned that you have to stand up for what you know in your heart is the right thing to do and people will respond to that socially. According to Kegan and Lahey’s...

Self And Impression Management Video Analysis

...In this video they used a lot of evidence of presentation of self and impression management. For example she could not decide on the right filter that she wanted to use that fit her skin. She also in the video said she wanted to take her picture down to take a better one. This shows how much we care about how precise we are to make our picture to look as fantastic as possible. Like the article said people try to take a selfie when they either look the best or saying hey I did this today. In this video she said she was going to take a selfie before she went to smoke. There were some photos for instance someone was at a gym basically showing people that he is working out and getting in shape. Another photo someone had a fan of money in their hand convincing people that they got a whole bunch of money whether it is true of not....

...Self-Analysis Self-Analysis Oklahoma Wesleyan University Introduction Personality The Jungian personality test is based on Carl Jung’s theory of psychological types. After taking the test, the result was ENTP. The E stands for extrovert, the N for intuition, T for thinking and the P for perceiving. Each of the four areas of the assessment was very clear after being scored. As an ENTP, the primary mode of living is focused externally, where you take things in through your intuition. The secondary mode is internal, where they deal with things rationally and logically. With Extraverted Intuition dominating their personality, their primary interest in life, is understanding the world that they live in. They are constantly absorbing ideas and images about the situations they are presented in their lives. Using their intuition to process this information, they are usually extremely quick and accurate in their ability to size up a situation. This ability to intuitively understand people and situations puts them at a distinct advantage. They generally understand things quickly and with great depth. They are also flexible and adapt well to a wide range of tasks. ENTPs are idea people. Their perceptive talents cause them to see possibilities. They get excited and passionate about their ideas, and are able to spread their excitement to others. Their secondary process of introverted thinking drives their decision making process. Though they are more interested in...

...Self Analysis Erickson’s fifth stage of psychosocial development relates to me as my identity status as an adolescent. Erickson believes that during this adolescents need to develop a sense of self and personal identity. During adolescence, children are exploring their independence and developing a sense of self. As they make the transition from childhood to adulthood, teens may begin to feel confused or insecure about themselves and how they fit in to society. As they seek to establish a sense of self, teens may experiment with different roles, activities and behaviors. According to Erikson, this is important to the process of forming a strong identity and developing a sense of direction in life. Those who receive proper encouragement and reinforcement through personal exploration will emerge from this stage with a strong sense of self and a feeling of independence and control. Those who remain unsure of their beliefs and desires will insecure and confused about themselves and the future (Berger 2007). This stage was extremely important in my life because as a child growing up I was a very shy and quiet girl. My brother was my idol and I wanted to be just like him. I had friends in school, but those friends remained my friends from 1-8th grade. I did not like change or new environments; I was hard for me to transition because I was very timid and felt uncomfortable in new environments. As a result my parents sent me to a Catholic High School, and it was not coed. This transition...

...Coletha Mack CST 100-040W 3/5/12 Self-Analysis #2 My overall feeling about my persuasive speech is not a great one. I felt like I could have been more prepared and organized. While I was delivering the speech, it seemed as if I wasn’t holding the audience attention. I must say out of all of the speeches I was more afraid to perform. It could have been because it wasn’t a topic I was really comfortable with. During the speech I keep it upbeat. I brought in positive energy, while keeping everyone laughing. I projected my voice rather nicely. I used my hands to show emphasis on the subject. If I had to do the speech all over again, I would use notes cards. Doing it at the minute would not have been an option, regardless of what was going on with my personal life. Next time, I will stick with one subject and build from there. In comparison to my other speeches I think this one was the worst. I set goals for myself and I think I only deliver on keeping the energy up. For this speech I decided to use a cause and effect. To me cause and effect speeches are easier to write because it shows how something you do can cause you something bad to happen or good. You really don’t have to try to persuade too much because the truth is in the pudding so to speak as long as you have creditable sources. I wanted to come across nonchalant but seriously about the subject. The reason I said nonchalant because people would be more receptacle of what I have to say, the subject of cosmetic...

Each writer has their personal instinctive writing style, and can show how the brain functions. This writer will show how learning styles are applied to K-12 students and why it is important to recognize these characteristics. Self Analysis The reflective learner, “likes to work alone, and lecture can be difficult if not given time to digest (Trustees, 2009).” Reflective learning is part of the intuitive learning style. The writer is able to comprehend information by having time to think about the material, and by not just reading and memorizing the information. Reflective learners have to writer, summarize, and come up with questions to the material. The reflective learner has to look over the information more than just one time. For example, a reflective learner would have to write down the information that is given in a lecture as it is being given. Reflective learners have to learn through writing and listening to lectures. How does this apply to K-12 students? Reflective learning is used every day in the classroom to help the teachers engage in giving the students instruction. Teachers are able to share their insights with other teachers. You see life present itself with so many opportunities, but how we respond to them depends on what we love and look for out life. I believe that most people fear the abilities they posses. The fear leads them to there own failures. Who am I you ask? I am a twenty-two year old independent African American female student with ambitions as well as dreams that are going to take me to the ultimate heights of prosperity. In a physical sense I am taller than your average female and slim in size. I have always been the most athletic one of family. ...CLST100 Professor: Dina L. Smith 4/6/2014 I have always found it interesting how everyone can have a different learning style. It does not mean that one person is smarter than the other, and vice versa. Everyone is completely different with how they intake information and their learning skills. My best learning skill is Kinesthetic I am more a “hands on” learner. I have always been more successful and learned better once I actually did something hands on. I can learn verbally, and visual as well but that is my best learning technique. As mentioned above my dominant learning style is Kinesthetic of course. I plan to take this learning style to help with my online courses, by making study lessons each week. Every week when I am reading over material, I always make note cards with important key factors of what I read during that week. At the end of the week I review over all my material that I read for a refresher. I think the strengths I have with my learning style is that I retain information very easy. The information that I learn and receive will always stick and remain with me; I have great memory with the kinesthetic learning style. My personality type is very outgoing and optimistic. I am always eager to learn new things and experiment when it comes to different learning techniques. I know that with over the course of years when going to school it has helped me become successful in my courses. The strength of my personality is great because I will not...

Ideal Self Analysis

...question that I answered in this week’s questionnaire. I knew there was a certain direction that I wanted my life, and my goals, to go, but this analysis really helped me to understand that in a deeper way. This paper will start to analyze the findings of my “ideal self” in relation to the real self and 360-degree feedback. I will be speaking on how I would like to build my strengths and reduce gaps between my ideal self and my real self. I will also, for the sake of this paper, insert some of my question/answer responses to particular questions within this assignment. The “ideal self” is an interesting concept to ponder and to study, but without a real understanding of who you want to be, and what you want to become, you are doomed to live a life of repetition, moving throughout the motions, and pushing from one stage of life to the next. The first question asked by this prompt was “What do I want to be?” (Ireson & West-Burnham, 2004, p. 12). A loaded question for sure, but upon further...

Self-Assessment Analysis

...Self-Assessment Analysis Liberty University April 15, 2013 Abstract Personality plays an important part in ones behavior in the work place. One’s behavior good or bad is influenced by personality and their value system (Robbins and Judge, 2009). We see the various personalities within a team or organization; personality test have become a great way to identify strengths and weaknesses of individuals. After taking the Prentice Hall’s Self-Assessment Library test I discovered that I scored highest for “how satisfied I am with my job”. I believe the economy and job market played a part in my answers and scored the lowest for “how involved I am with my job” (Pearson Education, 2008, I.B.2). My Jungian 16-Type Personality was revealed to be an ENTJ (Pearson Education, 2008, I.A.2) on the previously Typology test I was an INFJ. The assessment revealed that I am for diversity, and I have a flexible view of others. The survey did confirm my leadership style of me being task oriented, even with my concern for others I work in a metrics and customer service driven work environment so the goal is always about completing the task and satisfying the customers. Step 1 Part 1: What about me? The first part of the Prentice Hall’s Self-Assessment is titled “What about me?”. The assessment helped to provide insight into the various parts of my personality in the areas of values, attitude, motivations and decision-making (Pearson Education...

...about myself is almost right and it is a good feeling to know that. It's also kind of funny I know that Donald Trump have the same 4 letters as me, which by the way I'm not buying that. For the first letter I, which mean introvert. This is the personality that I know that it's true about myself because I love being alone most of the time, and I also get energy from being alone not around the people for example I would totally hang out with my close friend than going to the party with them and also clearly I really don't like to talk out loud that much. Second letter was S, which stand for Sensing, according to the website I have sensing more than intuition just one percent, which is really close. This is the only letter I got off from self-analysis in the class, but when I think about it. It was true that I'm sensing kind of person because for example, when I travel to the different places, I would just take a moment and enjoying what I seeing unlike other people who want to capture what they see and look at it later. It's just something that I rather experience for myself than look at it thought a plane of glass that's full of color pixels. Third letter was F, which stand for Feeling, Personally since I was a kid that I'm feeling person because I love adventure, and the feeling could bring me anywhere and anytime just because of my feeling for example, I would use my feeling but not the knowledge to pick the way when I got lost in the highway without any GPS and some how I managed...

Self Esteem Analysis

...Since fifth grade, I have been fighting my personal dragon, low self-esteem. In Sweden , perfection is the key to social acceptance, so I lived my life in what felt like a never-ending play. I put on quite a performance for the most brutal of critics: society. Any theater enthusiast understands the exhausting work and effort required to make the production perfect, but to the common audience what is behind the curtains remains hidden. I was not able to see my true beauty because I was so focused on always delivering a larger and more extravagant show to keep my audience returning. Feeling lonely, trapped and unhappy made me not appreciate lief to the extent that i could have done. I lived everyday hoping and praying that the curtains would never drop. Coming to the U.S. helped me incredibly much. Making new friends, being shown love and acceptance everyday made it possible to find the strength to change my ways. People are so much more open minded and they showed me that being who i am is cokay. With all ups comes downs and my dragons breath slowly started to...
