Configuring Etherchannels

[pic]

“EtherChannel is a port link aggregation technology or port-channel architecture used primarily on Cisco switches. It allows grouping of several physical Ethernet links to create one logical Ethernet link for the purpose of providing fault-tolerance and high-speed links between switches, routers and servers” (Wikipedia). An EtherChannel consists of individual Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet links bundled into a single logical link. According to Cisco, “Each EtherChannel can consist of up to eight compatibly configured Ethernet interfaces. All interfaces in each EtherChannel must be the same speed, and all must be configured as either Layer 2 or Layer 3 interfaces” (Cisco Inc, 2013). You create an EtherChannel for Layer 2 interfaces differently from Layer 3 interfaces. Both configurations involve logical interfaces.
•[pic]With Layer 3 interfaces, you manually create the logical interface by using the interface port-channel global configuration command.
•[pic]With Layer 2 interfaces, the logical interface is dynamically created.
•[pic]With both Layer 3 and 2 interfaces, you manually assign an interface to the EtherChannel by using the channel-group interface configuration command. This command binds the physical and logical ports together (Cisco Inc, 2013).

The EtherChannel Modes are: • Active • Auto • Desirable • On • Passive Steps for this process are: • Configure terminal • Interface interface-id • Switchport mode{access |trunk} • Switchport access vlan vlan-id • Channel-group channel-group-number mode {{auto [non-silent] |desirable[non-silent] |on} | {active |passive}} • End • Show running-config • Copy running-config startup-config

Wal-Mart Customer Service Paper

...Wal-Mart’s mission statement and vision states, “We save people money so they can live better,” has become famous throughout the world along with their founder, Sam Walton’s famous words, “If we work together, we’ll lower the cost of living for everyone…we’ll give the world an opportunity to see what it’s like to save and have a better life,” (About.com, 2013). Applying Walton’s vision and principles for low competitive pricing and knowledge of customer preferences has mad Wal-Mart the largest retail giant in the nation. According to Paul Timm, “Ancillary services that complement the company’s main products can provide added convenience for customers,” (Timm 2011, 186). Wal-Mart is the best example of ancillary services for customers by offering services such as auto/tire services, lawn and gardening, deli/grocery, banking, hair salon, fast food, etcetera. Although Wal-Mart has implemented policies and rules which are to help their employees exemplify the company’s overall culture, they are seldom followed since the death their founder. They have been making the customer’s shopping experience memorable, but seldom in a positive way. Like me, most customers just shop at Wal-Mart out of habit or convenience. Timm’s theory on loyalty describes exactly how most of the shoppers like me view their stores, “Some people buy as a result of habit, convenience, or price but would be quick to defect to an alternative,” (12). There were many theories I learned in this course; however...

Satisfaction Survey Study

...Satisfaction Survey Study Perspective The Satisfaction Survey Study was performed due to the very low number of respondents that had submitted satisfaction surveys during the previous year and to see what the expected number of responses should be in comparison with our peers. Methodology From January to June, 100 patient satisfaction surveys were placed throughout our facility advising patients to take one. These surveys had return envelopes attached to them, without paid postage. One designated individual was responsible for maintaining these surveys so as we could determine the number of surveys that were taken. The surveys that were placed in our office were printed on gray paper.  Goal The goals of this study are to receive a comparable percentage of patient satisfaction survey responses in comparison with our facilities. Comparison/Benchmarks A 30% to 35% response rate is satisfactory according to a study, “Survey Response Rates and Overall Patient Satisfaction Scores,” published in the Journal of Nursing Care Quality 2003 Jul-Sept. And the Patient Survey Website June 2011 Article “What Does Patient Response Mean?”.  Results At the end of the 6 month period, January to June, there were 71 surveys remaining of the original 100 placed throughout our facility by which we determined that 39 surveys had been taken. We received only 6 surveys back during this time period. This is a response rate of 15% which is 20% lower than our benchmarks. In attempts to increase...
