Overall Description

1 Product Perspective

SETU Management System is a replacement to an existing similar program. Project include various feature missing in the previous replaced system, and a hand on efficient GUI to enhance the end user experience with the project.

2 Product Functions

• Create a user account with all valid specified information. • Validate account. • Allow user to choose the application he/she wants to apply for. • Create a report or receipt for each specific user • Track certificate based on its user and certificate ID

3 Operating Environment

The System is capable of running in any medium or even small configuration. The project is capable of running on Windows XP and Windows 98. The project requires VB.net framework minimal configured and oracle 9i. For report generation Crystal report is required.

4 Design and Implementation Constraints

The system is fully functional in its defined capabilities and works on small and medium scale operation. The constraints to the further development include various factors such as:

• inadequate and out of the scope technology limitations. • Time constraints for the project. • Various undeniable factors such as security risk of leakage of confidential information of users. • Doubt about the maintenance of system by the customer.

5 User Documentation

User documentation can be referred by this document. Along with specified instructions on the help link on web portal.

6 Assumptions and Dependencies

We assume that extra documentation beyond this SRS would not be necessary in order for the user to utilize this product.

External Interface Requirements

1 User Interfaces

The whole GUI is designed and implemented in VB 0.6 framework. The GUI is simple but dynamic and efficient enough to support medium and small scale operations successfully. The GUI has been designed on base color platform. The GUI not only acts a static view point for end user to operate but also it changes dynamically depending upon users choices of certificates. • Login Screen • Report Generation • Applying for certificates

GUI is also designed to handle all kind of exception events occurring during the course of operation. Also error handling is done very efficiently.

2 Hardware Interfaces

No hardware interfaces are required other than standard computer peripherals such as CPU, Moniter ( Colored Std. with 1024x&768 Resolution ) , Keyboard ,Mouse.

3 Software Interfaces

In order to Project to work there are specific component connections need to be established first : • Connection between Oracle 9i and Windows Xp with Jar files. • VB 6 with ODBC connection to Oracle 9i • VB 6 with integrated Crystal report generator.

Connectivity between VB framework and database oracle 9i is a must issue as all data flow occurs between these two components.

4 Communications Interfaces

No communication interfaces are required as it is a standalone machine application.

System Features

1 Choice of Certificates

There are several different certificates that are issued by different government offices. This system integrates all those certificates at one place allowing user to apply for them at the same time same place.

4.1.1 Description and Priority

The feature is a very influential aspect of project , as the moto of project is to ease the process of applying to various documents. It is a top priority feature of the project.

4.1.2 Stimulus/Response Sequences

The end user will choose a particular certificate he/she wants to apply for. If user has already applied for some other certificate, the redundant information will be filled up automatically in the application, there by allowing user not to re-enter same information again.

2 Receipt/ Report generation

After the completion of a process of applying , the portable document format(PDF) will be generated , which will include attributes like: • certificate ID along with user ID. • applied document. • Days for process.

3 Administrator login for verification of documents.

4.3.1 Description and Priority

A separate admin login has been given to officer who will verify all the information regarding users application, the applied document information will be thoroughly scrutinized. Officer will have freedom to reject or obstruct document process if any justifiable liability is found. On the priority account it is assumed to be of TOP priority.

Other Requirements

• Valid database component is a must requirement as all the data is eventually transferred to database .In this project, Oracle 9i has been used because of its simple and basic functionality that was the only feature required for processing of this project.

• Ensuring connectivity of components such as front end component VB 6.0 and back end component Oracle 9i along with ODBC connection string.

• Windows crystal report generator is required for accessing PFD receipt generated at the end of process.

• Admin must have valid justification for rejection of document , as this reason will be notified to user. Admin may be pursued to legal action in case of invalid and unjustified rejection of application.
