Silence Of The Lambs Musical Essay

SILENCE! The musical is an unauthorized parody of The Silence of the Lambs. This play is not one for anyone sensitive to vulgar and raunchy acts, it is specifically for adults only. The project began in 2002 as nine humorous songs that retold the entire story of The Silence of the lambs. This music ended up going viral and becoming so popular, they created new songs and turned it into a live musical. Their version was adapted for the stage by Hunter Bell. The musical premiered at the FringeNYC Festival in 2005, where it received the award for Outstanding Musical. This musical received all kinds of awards during its two-year off Broadway run and ten years later and it’s still going strong all over the United States. The analysis of the seven elements of the play will begin in this order: the plot, characters, theme, language, movement, music, and spectacle. …show more content…
The piece is full of outrageous lines from the movie that were made into full songs. These lines are practically history from anybody growing up in the 80’s, “ Put the F***king lotion in the basket” and “I can smell your cunt” are made out to be nothing but absurdly amusing. The play follows FBI agent Clarice Starling as she tries to get information out of Hannibal Lector to help catch the maniac Buffalo Bill while she deals with her own personal issue of trying to silence the sound of the lambs being slaughtered. It all begins when the lambs appear on the stage singing to the audience introducing what the play will be about. As the play develops, Crawford calls Starling into his office and asks her to go speak with Lector to profile him for information used for new criminals. She agrees to help because she wants to work for Crawford after completing FBl

Worship Manual

...WORSHIP MANUAL by David C. Stone Third edition (May 1998) Revised (October 1998) © 1998 David C. Stone. All rights reserved. This document is very much a continuing effort. It is an attempt to express a theology and philosophy of corporate worship that is becoming increasingly prevalent in churches across both denominational and international borders. This third edition contains greatly expanded content in chapter 1 (The Meaning of Worship) and some additional material in chapter 2 (Corporate Worship). This includes corrections, additional references and a short Bible survey that fills in some of the background material to the text. The first revision finally includes the material on the Tabernacle (section 2.5) and the beginnings of a study on the history of worship (chapter 3, incomplete), as well as some minor section renumbering. I still fully intend to add a chapter on leading worship, but I got a little sidetracked! ...this situation sounds familiar, you may find it reassuring to know that many professionals undergo these same strange compulsions before they begin writing. Jean Kerr, author of Please Don’t Eat the Daisies, admits that she often finds herself in the kitchen reading soup-can labels—or anything—in order to prolong the moments before taking pen in hand. John C. Calhoun, vice president under Andrew Jackson, insisted he had to plow his fields before he could write, and Joseph Conrad, author of Lord Jim and other novels, is said to have cried on occasion from the sheer dread of sitting down to compose his stories. To spare you as much hand-wringing as possible, this chapter presents some practical suggestions on how to begin writing your short essay. Although all writers must find the methods that work best for them, you may find some of the following ideas helpful. But no matter how you actually begin putting words on paper, it is absolutely essential to maintain two basic ideas concerning your writing task. Before you write a single sentence, you should always remind yourself that 1. You have some valuable ideas to tell your reader, and 2. More than anything, you want to communicate those ideas to your reader. These reminders may seem obvious to you, but without a solid commitment to your own opinions as well as to your reader, your prose will be lifeless and boring. If you don’t care about your subject, you can’t very well expect anyone else to. Have confidence that your ideas......
