Similarities Between Frank Morris And John Anglin

Frank Morris and John Anglin the two of the three escaped prisoners from the prison called

Alcatraz and they ended up in Mexico and yet they had different life's from the beginning.

Unlike Frank Morris, who was abandoned when he was born and had a family at the age of 11

that foster cared for him, John Anglin lived in a house with seven brothers and seven sisters and

had family that loved him. Despite John Anglin, who had robbed the Columbia Alabama bank

using a toy gun and he did with his brother that got him arrested, Frank Morris who was a drug

dealer, robber, and had stolen cars, got arrested for armed robbery in Miami Beach. In contrast to

Frank, who was sent directly to the Alcatraz prison, John Anglin was sent to the state …show more content…
Even though John went to Michigan every May to pick cherries to

help the family out financially and they learned to swim here in the icy waters, Frank would do

nothing to that cause his family was fine in financial problems. Dissimilar to John, who got to

robbed a bank a couple times, Frank did all his crimes every single day of his life and never

stopped once and was charged due to that.

Despite all these differences between Frank Morris and John Anglin, they were similar

in some ways. Frank Morris and John Anglin, both ended up in the most difficult prison to

escape from and they would talk to each other and another prisoner, Clarence Anglin, on how to

escape. They planed the escape using paper and paint to make paper dummies to take their

places. They dug a hole from their cells that allowed them to go outside to inflate the boat they

finally used to escape onto the ocean. Another similarity frank Morris and John Anglin is that they were in the same cells block John's cell was b-135 and Frank's cell was b-138. During the

morning when they would wake up they clean their rooms and then go to the mess hall by 7:00

and during that time they setup everything for their escape form Alcatraz. Both of them had
