It is commonly accepted that management’s number one priority is to get appropriate results through the effective use of people. The first step toward the proper use of an organizations human resources is to hire the right people. Today, the hiring process is very competitive in nature, with the job typically going to the person who is most suitable from among the rest. While few employers get exactly what they are looking for in a new hire, those who get the best results are employers who put forth maximum effort in the recruitment process. The purpose for this paper is to highlight a practical system to recruit, interview, and select personnel successfully if my supervisor gave me the power to lead.

Why do I want to be lawyer? What kind of law should I practice? Talking to individuals in the field, it seems to be a process of give and take. The private sector, although lucrative, is time consuming. If I want to go that route, I will have a six figure salary and live well, but I doubt I would have time to enjoy it my first ten years. With first year associates needing to acquire anywhere from 1800-2100 billable hours a year, you’re looking at a 60-80 hour workweek. However, there are government and non-profit work that may be quite fulfilling but with the average salary I’ll be paying be student loans for a while.
