We the committee find that the best way to establish a sexual harrassment policy for Sumnus College is to adopt a mixture between both UC Boulder's (CUB) and Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) policies. As such, we'll focus on some of the most important parts of both policies and combine them to create a suitable new, policy:The reporting process will be modeled after both MTSU's and CUB's, due to appealing elements from both. In regards to the investigation process, we have decided to adopt CUB's policy, with changes, additions, or removals noted, with reasons given.
Disciplinary measures, an uncovered topic in both, has been created by the committee. The appeal process will be taken after MTSU's, due to the committee's opinion of better standard.

The Reporting Process

Students:
If you feel that you have been harrassed sexually, then your first step is to inform either a faculty member, or one of the on-site sexual harrassment officers, who are specially trained to receive and investigate all matters pertaining to the subject. You will be contacted, as the initiator of the claim, within three days of whether or not your claim is to be pursued, after all circumstances, extenuating or otherwise, have been considered.

A. If you feel that you have been denied the investigation process, then you may take it up with the president, or one of our other officers, of which there are three total.
Faculty:

All faculty members MUST report any seen, attempted, or reported sexual harrassment to one of the sexual harrassment officers on site, along with notifying university council. Consequences for failure to do so could lead to, but not to be limited to:

Suspension until further notice Pursuant under law Termination

Officers

Any student or faculty who's incident reports must be investigated thoroughly by you, and, to your discretion, followed up with further action if found wanted. If the harrassment is found lacking, then you must inform the student and advise them of the appeal process. Upon verification of the harrassment, you are to inform the university counsel, of who's authority you will divert to in matters of a sensitive nature, as they will have limited powers of succession.

...Chapter 1 The Dimensions of Psychology Summary: Psychology is an academic and applied discipline that involves the scientific study of mental functions and behaviors. Psychology has the immediate goal of understanding individuals and groups by both establishing general principles and researching specific cases, and by many accounts it ultimately aims to benefit society. In this field, a professional practitioner or researcher is called a psychologist, and can be classified as a social, behavioral, or cognitive scientist. Psychologists attempt to understand the role of mental functions in individual and social behavior, while also exploring the physiological and neurobiological processes that underlie certain cognitive functions and behaviors. Structuralism was the first school of psychology and focused on breaking down mental processes into the most basic components. Researchers tried to understand the basic elements of consciousness using a method known as introspection. Wilhelm Wundt, founder of the first psychology lab, was an advocate of this position and is often considered the founder of structuralism, despite the fact that it was his student, Edward B. Titchener who first coined the term to describe this school of thought. Functionalism formed as a reaction to the structuralism and was heavily influenced by the work of William James and the evolutionary theory of Charles Darwin. Functionalists sought to explain the mental processes in a more systematic and accurate...
