The Catholic Church goes to the Peripheries with it's tons of people around the world who live according to God. An amazing 16% of the world's population is catholic and around 50% of the worlds Christians are Catholic. Well over 40 countries have the most Catholics in their country than any other religion. All of this just goes to show how many Catholics are around the world and their influence on this planet.

St. Martin de Porres was a Catholic who lived in the late 1500's and early 1600's. He was a saint who devoted his life to his faith despite all the obstacles in his way. It wouldn't matter what ethnicity someone was, for he would take care of anyone who came to him. For that redeeming quality I believe he is a man who truly lived the way Christ would want us to live. …show more content…
Martin de Porres was a descendant of Africa and a free slave. He was also the illegitimate son of a Spanish man. When he lived people of his race were discriminated against and didn't have the opportunity to do things that people of other ethnicities would be able to do. His skin color was always a major struggle for him and he would have to work twice as hard as a white person. To get involved in his religion, he would beg and pray for hours at the Dominican Covenant of the Rosary. When he moved on to the Third Order of Saint Thomas, he was discriminated against and called terrible names by his fellow believers.
