Since I have been at Ohio State, I have had many opportunities to take part in fulfilling organizations. From each organization I learned different traits that have helped me to better myself. In the Stadium Scholarship Program, I have had the chance to build a community while giving back to our community. In CHAARG, I have learned the power of motivation and supporting others and while working at Neil, I have learned time management and multitasking. Each group may be very different, however, they are all similar in that they have shaped me to be a better and stronger person than I was before.
The Stadium Scholarship Program has made a huge impact on my priorities in life. Through Buckeyethon, Capes 4 Kids, and the Columbus Public Library book drive, I have become more aware of how fortunate I am. At Buckeyethon I had the opportunity to raise money to help fight pediatric cancer. The money we donated went directly to the families who needed assistance at the nearby Nationwide Children’s Hospital. At the hospital many kids dream of the chance to become a buckeye one day. By doing Buckeyethon, I experienced a small glimpse of their daily struggles and I came to the realization of how blessed I truly was to …show more content…
CHAARG is a girl empowerment workout group. The main purpose is to help girls feel comfortable in their own skin and reach targets with the help of others. As a part of this group I have learned the importance of being supportive of others. I also have learned how a strong support system can greatly impact me. The girls within this program have made me feel comfortable in my own skin for the first time in my life. As I continue in this group, I am constantly trying to recruit other people to join because I know that it will help to boost their confidence. Eventually, I would like to join the executive board who are in charge of organizing events and motivating everyone to be the best versions of

...presentation. I chose the approach because it is simple to use and strategic in the idea selection process. Each idea presented in the essay should be scored 1-10 for the following three aspects: 1. Novelty – it concerns how novel the idea is and the degree of novelty determines its creativity 2. Attractiveness – it ascertains the attractiveness of the idea. For instance, does it absolutely solve the existing problem? Or is it just a fractional solution. 3. Feasibility/Practicability – how feasible is the idea in being put into practice? Is it really feasible? (Bradac & Rebernik, n.d., p 44) Part One Part one of the essay presents the idea social programs and diverse activities. In this part, I will evaluate two concepts, first the social program and the CATWOE analysis approach using the model. Social Programs According to Laughlin (2011, p 22), the return of corporate benefits to the community is one of the most important policies of Samsung. For purposes of sustaining these social welfare programs, the company normally requires its employees to voluntarily participate in these programs. I will carry out an analysis of the social welfare as presented in the essay as one of the critical ideas. At first, I will try and identify some of its novelty, attractiveness, and feasibility. Novelty As highlighted in the essay, the social welfare program developed by...

Assignment Business Law

...1.0. INTRODUCTION A contract is a voluntary arrangement between two or more parties that is enforceable at law as a binding legal agreement. Contract have a history that where or when established. Contract law is based on the principle expressed in the Latin phrase “pacta sunt servanda”, (“agreements must be kept"). The common law of contract originated with the now-defunct writ of assumpsit, which was originally a tort action based on reliance. Contract law falls within the general law of obligations, along with tort, unjust enrichment, and restitution. Jurisdictions vary in their principles of freedom of contract. In common law jurisdictions such as England and the United States, a high degree of freedom is the norm. For example, in American law, it was determined in the 1901 case of Hurley v. Eddingfield that a physician was permitted to deny treatment to a patient despite the lack of other available medical assistance and the patient's subsequent death. This is in contrast to the civil law, which typically applies certain overarching principles to disputes arising out of contract, as in the French Civil Code. Other legal systems such as Islamic law, socialist legal systems, and customary law have their own variations. In contemporary times, each case requires an agreement between each other. It is intended that the contract is important in an agreement to prove that the two sides can conduct issues in a more prudent and responsible. Contract means the law that regulates...

Xiearmyxiearmy 零四岁末于美国穷乡僻壤 Chapter I Application Essay Examples INTRODUCTION This appendix contains 115 actual essays written, by 17 different applicants, for leading MBA programs. They address dozens of different essay topics. The applicants and their essays have been selected to give you the widest possible range of materials from which to profit. The first four applicants all applied to the University of Chicago. They were chosen by Chicago’s admissions director, Don Martin, according to my desire that they be from four very different people and of average quality for those admitted. In other words, these essays will show you exactly what you are competing against. They are of perfectly acceptable quality, but they should not discourage you. If you follow the lessons of this book you should be able to surpass each of these efforts. The second set of three applicants—Melissa, Doreen, and Carol—is taken from Columbia University’s files. Columbia’s admissions director, Linda Meehan, was asked to supply several applications, again from people of widely differing backgrounds, but this time of superior quality. I think that this group’s applications...

...this situation sounds familiar, you may find it reassuring to know that many professionals undergo these same strange compulsions before they begin writing. Jean Kerr, author of Please Don’t Eat the Daisies, admits that she often finds herself in the kitchen reading soup-can labels—or anything—in order to prolong the moments before taking pen in hand. John C. Calhoun, vice president under Andrew Jackson, insisted he had to plow his fields before he could write, and Joseph Conrad, author of Lord Jim and other novels, is said to have cried on occasion from the sheer dread of sitting down to compose his stories. To spare you as much hand-wringing as possible, this chapter presents some practical suggestions on how to begin writing your short essay. Although all writers must find the methods that work best for them, you may find some of the following ideas helpful. But no matter how you actually begin putting words on paper, it is absolutely essential to maintain two basic ideas concerning your writing task. Before you write a single sentence, you should always remind yourself that 1. You have some valuable ideas to tell your reader, and 2. More than anything, you want to communicate those ideas to your reader. These reminders may seem obvious to you, but without a solid commitment to your own opinions as well as to your reader, your prose will be lifeless and boring. If you don’t care about your subject, you can’t very well expect anyone else to. Have confidence that your ideas are...

...manipulation. He conjures up a storm, the eponymous tempest, to lure his usurping brother Antonio and the complicit King Alonso of Naples to the island. There, his machinations bring about the revelation of Antonio's lowly nature, the redemption of the King, and the marriage of Miranda to Alonso's son, Ferdinand. There is no obvious single source for the plot of The Tempest, but researchers have seen parallels in Erasmus's Naufragium, Peter Martyr's De orbe novo, and eyewitness reports by William Strachey and Sylvester Jordain of the real-life shipwreck of the Sea Venture on the islands of Bermuda, and the subsequent conflict between Sir Thomas Gates and Sir George Somers. In addition, one of Gonzalo's speeches is derived from Montaigne's essay Of the Canibales, and much of Prospero's renunciative speech is taken word for word from a speech by Medea in Ovid's poem Metamorphoses. The masque in Act 4 may have been a later addition, possibly in honour of the wedding of Princess Elizabeth and Frederick V in 1613. The play was first published in the First Folio of 1623. The story draws heavily on the tradition of the romance, and it was influenced by tragicomedy and the courtly masque and perhaps by the...
