Staffing Plan Paper

...Staffing is one of the most important things that an organization can do to bring success to the company. Without experienced manpower there are no completed tasks, or quality customer service. If a company hopes to hire qualified individuals, they must be aggressive, and plan a head in order to know the staffing needs of the organization. This paper will outline an effective and efficient staffing plan for Haircutters Barber Shop, including how to determine the numbers of barbers and beauticians to hire and a recruitment strategy to ensure appropriate candidates are hired. Recruiting in all industries is a numbers game as well as a game of networking and relationships. It is a dynamic and on-going process that must constantly be monitored and evaluated for its strengths and weaknesses (Cowan, 1992). Industry standards estimate that one needs to interview over 20 candidates to hire one employee (Cowan, 1992). Due to attrition and employee failure, a company must recruit at least 30 percent of the total number of existing employees every year to achieve an overall growth of 10 percent (Cowan, 1992). To use this formula as a basis for goal-setting, it is important to analyze the previous years' goals and results. If the goals were met or if they failed to achieve the objectives, it is crucial to examine the factors that came into play, whether they were economic trends or internal issues. This information should provide a solid plan to identify the most successful methods to......

Staffing Planning Paper

...Staffing Plan Paper Adrian Gadsden April 25, 2011 Patricia Meunier-Muenks Staffing Solutions for US Military I am familiar with the Infantry and Cavalry division of the military structure and how to make this division of the US government functional is of crucial importance. First, by the very definition, the infantry and cavalry division of military service personnel requires a special mindset. It requires a person who understands that their life as well as others will be in a dangerous state and at any stage of conflict that has to be a mindset that the individual will be comfortable with. Regardless of the company for which one works, the staffing portion of any career is one of the most critical pieces to making the overall job a true success. Without the right people in the right positions, an organization will have a difficult time working properly. Manufacturing The division of the military that I am most comfortable with does not necessarily have a direct manufacturing part to the equation; the equipment that is needed to supply the soldiers is of critical importance. The most important thing that needs to happen from a manufacturing standpoint is that the equipment and supplies that are critical to a soldier’s survivability are readily available and reflects the job that is required. There are many levels of equipment that are needed to complete certain jobs. Most of the manufacturing, as expected,......

...are often used interchangeably to describe work which previously was done with paper, but which now has been adapted to information & communication technology (ICT) devices and software. The Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) has defined information technology (IT) in the electronic era as "the study, design, development, implementation, support or management of computer-based information systems, particularly software applications and computer hardware." IT entails processes involving the use of computers and software to create, convert, store, process, transmit, and retrieve information securely. The term has recently been broadened to ICT (Information and Communications Technology), so as to include the idea of electronic communication. To be paperless means essentially that the traditional paper-based practices-such as writing, note taking, reading, editing, communicating, and even drawing-are instead performed electronically with ICT devices and software. Much has been said and written about the paperless office in recent years, and the rapid development of ICT is enabling an increasing number of paperless practices. The relationship between paperless work styles and ICT is intimate and interdependent; a paperless work and lifestyle cannot be implemented without ICT, and the use of ICT should naturally lead to becoming paperless. Paradoxically, however, the consumption of paper has increased exponentially since the advent of personal...

Api Computerizes Scheduling and Staffing

...API Computerized Staffing and Scheduling System Sherri Milton Kelly Graduate March 10, 2012 Abstract This paper will discuss why using computerized staffing system could make staffing a hospital more efficient, effective and cost effective. The program will show how and why computerized scheduling and using API program versus Inovar would be more effective, productive while staying cost effective. API Computerized Staffing and Scheduling System The technology that will be discussed would be a web based networking program that would assist with adequate staffing for the hospital and their patients. This program would be implemented to ensure quality patient care and to minimize or eliminate staffing errors. The API program is a program that uses real time versus Inovar that is post time. Inovar is a program that we use to schedule, do time and attendance and payroll. API would be replacing inovar because of its slow turn around. Doing staffing in real time will help decrease delays in nurse assignments and floats which helps to eliminate frequent calls to the staffing office trying to find out who will be working where. The programs that we are currently using are Oracle, Epic and Inovar which will be phased out as soon as an adequate program is in place. The implementation of API would not only benefit the organization, but the staff as well because it helps to speed up the staffing process with knowing who’s where and with patient acuity, it will help in......
