If the government offer you a great future will you choose their offer and leave your property? The Cherokees were ordered to leave from their houses and move to the place where the government command them to go.Will you rather take the offer or face the hard time while fighting to control your property?If someone is leading you to a way that’s the most beneficial for you,should not he be called a hero for you life?
Stand Watie was known as Stanhope Watie, meaning “Stand Firm” and the leader of the Cherokee tribes and General of the Confederate State army during the Civil War among other Indians tribes with the lead by Watie, the Cherokee nations and his fellow men went through many battle and obstacle for their peaceful life within the tribes …show more content…
The people that followed Stand Watie and considered him as their leader, were safe from being homeless nor losing their property because if you side with the Union, not only that Confederacy are going to take your property, they will hurt you physically.The Confederacy were too powerful that they will do anything to make the Cherokee side with them by taking violence action.Great leader doesn’t always just give up based on their personal life or feeling, with a generous mind and as parents, he bravely side with the Cherokee till the end.When the Cherokees nation had split into two rival groups, one group supported the Union and recognized John Ross as chief and the remainder group continue to support the south which they elected Stand Watie as chief.Stand Watie had four wives including their children, however he lost all of his families members to disease.His fourth wife, spent most the war years as a refugee in northern Texas.Stand Watie devoted his life into his work and pursue their goal for the Cherokee nation.Stand Watie’s confidence and determination was unquestioned, and he fought till the end as a hero and never plan to surrender.Although they were out of number and war equipment, Watie intense on fighting and getting the tribal division drive him to fight till the end.Many of his fellow men fled and run away from their home, Stand Watie was the last one to surrender among the other confederate generals.Stand Watie, who had fight through the battle on behalf of the

It was their right to fight for territory, which gave them a choice to fight or another choice to move their lifestyle and their culture to another place. The territory that the Native Americans had were so important to them because of the natural resources and knowledge they had from the land. Moving to a different place would be difficult because they would have to start over from nothing.
