Research Question:
Can job performance be predicted linearly by a combination of grip strength and arm strength?
Dependent Variable: SIMS
Independent Variables: GRIP, ARM

The dependent variable SIMS is determined by independent variables GRIP and ARMThe most important independent variable in this relationship seems to be ARM because the data seems to be moved more by the change in ARM than in it does by the change in GRIP. | |
SIMS (simulations) is the dependent variable in this experiment. A simulation is defined as a way to model random events, such that simulated outcomes closely match real-world outcomes. By observing simulated outcomes, researchers gain insight on the real world (Simulation of Random Events, 2014). The simulations in this case required that the participant exert force on a simulated wrench while assuming standing and a kneeling position.
GRIP (grip strength) is one of the independent variables in this experiment. Grip strength is defined as the measurable ability to exert pressure with the hand, fingers, or both. It is measured by having a patient forcefully squeeze, grip, orpinch dynamometers; results are expressed in either pounds or kilograms of pressure. (Mosby's Medical Dictionary 8th Edition, 2009)

ARM (arm strength) is the other independent variable in this experiment. Arm strength is easily defined as the strength of your arm. Strength is defined as creating muscular tension (Hargrove, 2011).

In this experiment, GRIP and ARM determine the SIMS. The idea is that the higher the higher the GRIP and ARM, the higher the SIMS numbers will be. Therefore, the stronger you are, the better your ability to perform physically demanding jobs.

...given area. As published by Allen Lynch and David Rasmussen, these high crime areas should have a lower demand for tenants than the other, non-high crime areas (Lynch and Rasmussen). Just as predicted by their study, the regression analysis of the data in this study shows that when the area in question is a high-crime area, the price will decrease by an excess of \$77,500 for every house. Based on this research, one can relatively accurately determine the price range of a house in both an area prevalent in crime and in an area with an absence in crime; the stated \$96,000 premium, when in a high-crime area, becomes substantially lower. To purchase a house in a high-crime area will only cost around \$19,500 before other factors are brought into the equation. A second outcome of the regression analysis was that another important factor influencing housing rates in the study is the size of the house being valued. According to Trulia's data on the average price per square foot for houses in Jacksonville, the average price in 2012 was \$79 per square foot (Trulia). According to the research conducted by this study, the average price across the sample regions was almost \$73. Therefore, for every square foot increase in area of the house the value increases by \$73; the conclusion stated by the Express Estate Agency holds true to the statistical analysis performed on the prices of homes in Jacksonville as well. Age is one of the remaining variables that can highly influence housing......

...Research, Statistics, and Psychology Mickey Leitch PSY/315 November 11, 2012 Heather Joppich Research, Statistics, and Psychology When we are trying to figure out how many people are suffering from a different type of disorder then research and statistics can be very helpful. In the field of Psychology it is important to do your research and record your statistics. We can do this in the way of scientific method. Scientific method is a systematic, step by step procedure psychologists use when conducting research (Haig, 2011). That sounds much like research. Research is the systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions. Looking at these two you can see how they are different but you have to have both in order to complete the research that you need to make your decision. In the rest of this paper you are also going to learn about primary and secondary research and then the discussion of the role of statistics in research. After this the understanding of how important research in psychology really is. When trying to figure out what type of research to use to get the best results you have to look at the primary and secondary research of psychology. When collecting data you have primary and secondary data. Primary is directly from the source, such as a person who witnessed the event or say a person did huge humanitarian efforts, you could ask them for facts. Secondary is anything that is a second......

...Research Proposal STR/581 Strategic Planning and Implementation September 25, 2013 Research Proposal The topic chosen to research and innovate is a social enterprise startup, called Micro Benefits. This financial consulting group provides affordable micro-benefits such as credit, insurance, education, and lifestyle discounts to low-income workers in factories. The employee benefits platform not only benefits the employees, but it also benefits the employers by lowering attrition and saving millions in cost associated with very high turnover, which are particularly staggering in China. The proposed plan is to provide access to higher education to the workers to innovatively grow this already proven profitable business model. “Social enterprises are businesses whose primary purpose is the common good. They use the methods and disciplines of business and the power of the marketplace to advance their social, environmental and human justice agendas” (Social Enterprise Alliance, 2013). Micro Benefit’s mission is to improve the lives of migrant and factory workers through and economically sustainable business model that creates real value for customers (Weibangfuli, 2013). For the employers: currently, there is a drastic need for factories to retain employees, because in China it is common for the frontline workers to leave and migrate to the next factory or job – never staying long. Out of 350 million workers, 150...

The information is saved and kept confidential with the respective DBA’s of the organization. Very good care is taken to maintain the confidentiality to the information they provided. A safety locker in the bank is taken to keep the documents. They are accessed only by the researcher. Documents will be destroyed after 3 years. Data Collection The data was collected from 20 Database Administrators from 20 different data warehousing organizations whose age would be 28-36 years. This group was selected because the data warehouse details and the data which is present in it of all the clients across the globe is very confidential and it has to be handled with utmost care. Hence effective and experienced persons are chosen for this role of Database Administrators. In this qualitative research the time taken was a long period of 30 days since each DBA has to be interviewed with one on one questions, each DBA was asked about 10 open ended questions and was asked to express their opinion and thoughts in......

...Running head: RESEARCH PROPOSAL ASSIGNMENT 2 Does standardized testing relate to giving motivational instructions for elementary students in a public school system? The purpose of this study is to test whether motivational instructions improve performance on standardized tests with students in two different schools in the Chicago Public Schools System. Figuring out whether doing simple things such as changing the way the test is presented to positively impact the way the students take the test and their resulting scores ways heavily on those who give these standardized tests. An e-mail will be sent around to all elementary school principals and fourth grade teachers in the Public Schools System in Chicago. This e-mail will discuss the concern of high standardized test scores in all schools across the United States. It will also ask these principals and teachers if they will be willing to participate in a simple study that will give educators more insight as to whether the way a teacher presents the instructions of their tests has an impact on the scores of these students. Of the schools that send back an e-mail stating that they are interested in the study, five to ten schools will be chosen. These schools will be chosen according to the number of students in the fourth grade, male to female ratio, their average test scores, socioeconomic status, and representation of the population.
