I wanted to know how old was him and how high he has gotten in this successful career as an actor. Also what else he has done in his life. While I was searching information about Ian, the resources I had written already really helped me a lot. The basic information about his childhood and teenage I got it from the first source and the others one varied a lot. I really liked when I was looking for the information because while I was doing the flashcards I learned things I didn’t knew before about Ian. Some things that made me do this essay and all this stuff about Ian was that I like a lot how he act. In the “The Vampire Diaries2” series he looks like so bad and his personality is mean. In real life he is like an angel so I think he acts super good, and also while acting a personality that is totally different as his own. I’m impressed of how he has like a complete career; he started since little and then doing more and getting more successful each time until getting to the top. Results of my Research Who is Ian Somerhalder? Ian Joseph Somerhalder was born on December 8, 1978 in Covington, Louisiana, USA (“Ian Somerhalder”). ...Blink Disclaimer: The characters and other things from The Vampire Diaries don't belong to me. Credit goes to the rightful owners. "Cute PJs." Damon said casually to Elena as she entered the room, twisting around something on his fingers, betraying his tension beneath the calm exterior.   "I'm tired Damon," Elena replied, a hint of warning in her voice as she watched him step closer. "I brought you this," Damon said dangling her necklace in front of her, his pathetic excuse to see her and know that she was safe. "I thought that was gone," Elena said in surprise, Damon shaking his head with the ghost of a smile on his face as memories flooded his mind, particularly when he held the same necklace in his hand, clasping it around her neck, refusing her challenge for him to compel an answer out of her. "Thank you," Elena continued reaching out for the necklace but Damon pulled back his hand. "Please give it back…" she said as fear crept into her eyes, unwillingly as her mind automatically recounted that fateful night. It played in her mind—how she walked in and found him, just like tonight, with that look in his eyes that almost made her run to him when he saved her. "I just have to say something," Damon said stepping closer to her, the words almost spilling out of him with urgency. "Why do you have to say it with my necklace?" Elena said instinctively pulling away from him as flashes of his urgent kiss, the anguish in his eyes and Jeremy dead in her arms. ...

Elena asked. I am now. Stefan didn't say it, but Elena knew it was what he was thinking. She could see it in the way he stared at her. She had never been so sure of her power. Except that actually he didn't look as if he were having a good time; he looked stricken, in pain, as if he couldn't take one more minute of this. The band was starting up, a slow dance. He was still staring at her, drinking her in. Those green eyes darkening, going black with desire. She had the sudden feeling that he might jerk her to him and kiss her hard, without ever saying a word. "Would you like to dance?" she said softly. I'm playing with fire, with something I don't understand, she thought suddenly. And in that instant she realized that she was frightened. Her heart began to pound violently. It was as if those green eyes spoke to some part of her that was buried deep beneath the surface—and that part was screaming "danger" at her. Some instinct older than civilization was telling her to run, to flee. She didn't move. Don't miss these exciting books from HarperPaperbacks! THE VAMPIRE DIARIES: A TRILOGY L. J. Affect of Vampires on Society

...Brittany Nobrega ENG 201 11/19/12 Essay #3 The Vampire Diaries is a CW television series that revolves around a love triangle between two vampire brothers, Stefan and Damon Salvatore, and the main character, Elena. The show takes place in Mystic Falls, a small town with many secrets including witches, vampires, werewolves, ghosts, and hybrids. It is a constant struggle for Elena to keep her family and friends alive with all of the violence vampires and werewolves bring to the town; along with the struggle to protect her family and friends Elena struggles to choose which Salvatore brother she wants to be with. The trending vampire craze is a big part of America’s culture today. From television to books to movies the once evil vampire is now a fantasy for most women. These vampire characters may be murderers, they may be deceitful, but through all of the blood and gore we still desire them. What does it say about our culture today that the ideal man for a woman is a violent, murderous, yet gorgeous vampire? As a form of popular art, the CW series The Vampire Diaries reflects American women’s interest in violence, blood, heroes, confused morals, attractive men, and a dramatic love triangle. We root for these characters even though they have killed innocent people; each villain reveals a sensitive side that we are forced to sympathize with. American women viewers want to see more than two guys fighting over a girl, they want to see two heroic yet villainous animals struggle...

Eu não sei por que escrevi isso. Isto é maluco. Não há razão para eu está me perturbando e há muitas razões para eu está feliz, mas... Mas aqui estou eu ás 5:30 da manhã, desperta e assustada. Eu me mantive falando, apenas isso. Eu nunca tinha me sentido...

Geox S.p.A. is an Italian company based in Montebelluna (Treviso, Italy). It produces high quality and innovative shoes and apparels, and it is considered one of the most successful Italian firms. The company was born thanks to an innovative idea of its founder, Mr. Mario Moretti Polegato, and its fast growth has been due not only to the knowledge of the district, but also to its strong management and its strategies. All these factors have contributed to Geox’s fast growth in a market that was already mature. Notwithstanding Geox’s leadership position in Italy, the company is not immune from the negative effects of the economic and financial crisis and of globalization. The main challenges that the company is facing are mainly constituted by increasing and labour and raw material costs. The crisis, which has been particularly strong in Italy, has made people poorer. Thus, consumers have became...

...Journal of Economic Perspectives—Volume 17, Number 3—Summer 2003—Pages 71–92 Executive Compensation as an Agency Problem Lucian Arye Bebchuk and Jesse M. Fried E xecutive compensation has long attracted a great deal of attention from financial economists. Indeed, the increase in academic papers on the subject of CEO compensation during the 1990s seems to have outpaced even the remarkable increase in CEO pay itself during this period (Murphy, 1999). Much research has focused on how executive compensation schemes can help alleviate the agency problem in publicly traded companies. To understand adequately the landscape of executive compensation, however, one must recognize that the design of compensation arrangements is also partly a product of this same agency problem. Alternative Approaches to Executive Compensation Our focus in this paper is on publicly traded companies without a controlling shareholder. When ownership and management are separated in this way, managers might have substantial power. This recognition goes back, of course, to Berle and Means (1932, p. 139) who observed that top corporate executives, “while in office, have almost complete discretion in management.” Since Jensen and Meckling (1976), the problem of managerial power and discretion has been analyzed in modern finance as an “agency problem.” Managers may use their discretion to benefit themselves personally in a variety y Lucian Arye Bebchuk is the William J.
