He was the co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer (CEO) of Apple Inc.; CEO and largest shareholder of Pixar Animation Studios a member of The Walt Disney Company's board of directors following its acquisition of Pixar; and founder, chairman, and CEO of NeXT Inc. Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955 in San Francisco. His biological parents were graduate students of University of Wisconsin, Joanne Schieble (later Joanne Simpson) and Abdulfattah "John" Jandali, …show more content…
Clara was an accountant and Paul was a Coast Guard veteran and machinist. They lived in Mountain View, California, in the area that would later become today’s Silicon Valley. Steve Jobs grew up working on electronics with his father in the family garage. He learned how to take apart and reconstruct electronics from his father. The hobby instilled confidence, tenacity and mechanical prowess in young Jobs at a young age.
His early life
Although Jobs was an intelligent child, his youth was filled with frustrations over the formal schooling system. Because of boredom, Jobs was a prankster in school. His parents denied the proposal by the school administrator to skip Jobs to high school because he scored exceptionally well in tests.
When Jobs was enrolled at Homestead High School a few years later, he was introduced to his future partner, Steve Wozniak who was studying at the University of California, Berkeley. Both clicked well and had a common interest over electronics and digital chips. They had similar independent attitude about things in the world.

Instead of immediately opting for surgery, Jobs chose to alter his pesco-vegetarian diet while weighing Eastern treatment options. For nine months, Jobs postponed surgery, making Apple's board of directors nervous. Executives feared that shareholders would pull their stock if word got out that their CEO was ill. But in the end, Jobs' confidentiality took precedence over shareholder disclosure. In 2004, he had a successful surgery to remove the pancreatic tumor. True to form, in subsequent years Jobs disclosed little about his health.
Later Innovations
Revolutionary products such as the Macbook Air, iPod, iPhone, introduced by Apple have dictated the direction of modern technology. Company’s quarterly reports improved significantly in 2007, stocks were priced at $199.99 per share, breaking the record at the time. The company had a huge profit of $1.58 billion, $18 billion surplus in the bank and no debt.
In 2008, iTunes became the second-biggest music retailer in America—second only to Walmart, fueled by iTunes and iPod sales. Apple has also been ranked No. 1 on Fortune magazine's list of "America's Most Admired Companies," as well as No.

The Importance Of Communication In Communication

...communication to flow naturally, and be understood easily. Without clarity, an audience may be thinking about something you said (such as a word, that they aren't familiar with), rather than thinking about what your message is about. In the past, I have used clarity to help describe a problem to a customer, rather than using difficult “trade terms” for them. Here's an example: “Look at the back of your TV, and you will see three cables. They are red, yellow and white colored.” That sentence is much easier to understand than “Look at the input terminal on your TV, and locate the composite cables”. Conciseness is quite important too, as it means to lay out and outline the key points of your message, so the audience can follow along better. It's quite easy to think of conciseness as being road signs, or subheadings, as they outline what is next and guide the audience. Without conciseness, the audience could have trouble following along, as they may not be able to switch from one subtopic or another. In the past, I have used conciseness when writing a complaint letter to a shipping company. Here's an example: “Please note that the shipping fee of $188 USD is being requested for refund, due to damage during the delivery. We also want to request that the product's value, customs fees and auxiliary fees are reimbursed. The reasons are below”. Credibility is important as it allows the audience to know who the message sender is, why they are sending the message, and that the message is...

Sociology Poverty and Equality

...Poverty and Social Inequality ‘Inequality remains a significant part of life in contemporary Britain’ Some argue that Britain is the most unequal society in Western Europe, Research conducted by Sutton Trust from 2010 suggests that poverty affects children’s ability to do well in schools, the study indicates that just 45 per cent of children from poorest fifth of families were ready to read daily by the age of three compared to 78 per cent of children from richest fifth of families. This proves that British society is unequal; there are social groups that have access to better standards of living than others (Morning Star Online 2010) In order for Inequality to take place, some people need to have more than others, creating boundaries in society that stop some people from getting equal status despite their work and effort. There are several ways of measuring social class, subjective method simply is based on people’s perception of what social class they should be in. However it is quite vague as some people may be middle class and have a lot of money whereas other might have education, lifestyle and manners of the middle class but are poor. Where objective method takes things into account like occupation, unemployment, income, education and so on therefore it is more reliable way of measuring social class. In order to measure social class effectively, stratification is needed to enable evaluation of inequalities; best way to do it is consider morbidity and mortality factors...

Premarital Sex Premarital Sex and Religion The Catholic Church teaches that premarital sex is wrong, yet it is still widely practiced around the world. The reason marriage was created was to join two people of the opposite sex together in a holy sacrament that would make the couple one. God's reason for marriage is quoted in the bible when he said, "For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh" . The Sacrament of marriage is one of the most sacred Sacraments in the Catholic Religion. By performing premarital sex, the couple is breaking a covenant with God and is performing a sin. In the 1970s, Bruno Latour (a French anthropologist and social scientist) and Steve Woolgar (a British sociologist) undertook ethnographic field work at the Salk Institute in California. This research was inspired by grounded theory and Latour and Woolgar approached their study of work in the endocrinology laboratory as if they were anthropologists observing a hitherto unknown and strange set of practices. In other words, they did not fit their observations into any preconceived notions of scientific method, or how science 'should' be done. Veterans Having Trouble Finding Jobs After the Military

...Veterans Having Trouble Finding Jobs After the Military Mark Everhart Kaplan University Professor Sandra Fontana Veterans who have served this country by going to war are quickly realizing that America is not appreciating the sacrifices made for our service members. Veterans are being passed over for employment for many different reasons. Some of these reasons include Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), lack of job skills for performing civilian jobs, and the inability to cope with the transition from military to civilian life. The unemployment rate for veterans is 6.9 percent (Norman, 2012). The government and the employers need to work together to make the transition out of the military a smoother process. The Department of Veteran Affairs cannot process the applications for the G.I. Bill fast enough to accommodate the veterans. Veterans lack the job skills necessary to perform jobs in the civilian sector after the military. All military veterans should have special training, skill and mind set for the transition from military to civilian life, provided by the government and employers to ensure employability after serving their country regardless of how many years of service one has served. Veterans lack the special training and skills that are necessary to compete with the civilian population. Veterans often have jobs that cannot transfer to the civilian world (Hefling, 2011). For instance if they are an infantryman, they cannot get a job as a mechanic. Even as a Diesel...
