It is estimated that anywhere from 25 to 50 percent of children require orthodontic treatment in order to correct problems they have with the alignment of their teeth. Most children do not like wearing braces, and they can be expensive. However, braces help straighten teeth, which has many benefits. Below is a list of the benefits of straight teeth:

Improved Self-Esteem

Smiling is something that comes natural for many people. However, some children do not want to smile because they do not like their teeth look. Straight teeth can improve a child's self-esteem and confidence. Children who are confident typically do better in the classroom. They are also more outgoing and have an easier time making friends.

Healthier Teeth And Gums

Misaligned teeth are more than just a cosmetic concern. It is a lot harder for children to clean their teeth when they are not lined up properly. This can result in cavities. Recent studies have shown that cavities are on the rise in young children. In fact, 42 percent of children who are between the ages of two and 11 have cavities. …show more content…
This is often thought of as an adult problem. However, studies have shown that half of children have gum disease. Bleeding gums is one of the most common signs of gum disease. Gum disease can lead to tooth loss.

It is also important to note that the mouth is not the only part of the body that is affected by gum disease. There have been many studies done to demonstrate the connection between the mouth and the body. People who have gum disease are at a greater risk for many conditions, such as diabetes heart disease. Researchers believe that the bacteria in the mouth can travel to the bloodstream and affect other parts of the body.

...Unit 2 Background information: The service user I have chosen to base my coursework on is called Jordon Hill. He is three years old and is an only child. Both his parents work therefore he attends Childs play nursery. Although Jordon’s parents are busy with work, they both try to spend as much time as a family together as possible for example family dinners, and Saturday night movies. Jordon looks forward to these quality times, as he knows his parents are mostly busy. Jordon likes to play with his parents but understands when they are busy. He loves to play with his bike in the garden, and also the trampoline. He also enjoys his favourite blue toy car and his building blocks. Jordon’s hobby is playing football with his father. Jordon does not suffer from any medical issues or diseases; however he is allergic to egg which means that the nursery cook and staff need to ensure that they are extra careful with what they feed him. Overall this isn’t a great concern and other than that he is a healthy boy. Task 1: 1. Education through play: Schools & nurseries offer a wide range of services in order to stimulate the children. It also gives them a chance to interact with others whilst learning and gaining new skills. The most important and one of the main services is education through play. From my experience at Childs Play Nursery which we visited as a school trip, I found out that for young children to enjoy learning they have to physically engage in the activities...

...Advance concept of nursing I Unit 1 Nursing process The nursing process is an organized sequence of problem solving steps used to identify and to manage the health problems of clients .The nursing process is the framework for nursing care in all health care settings. When nursing practice follows the nursing process, clients receive quality care in minimal time with maximal efficiency. The steps of nursing process 1)Assesment 2)Diagnosis 3)Planning 4)Implementation 5)Evaluation Assessment An RN uses a systematic, dynamic way to collect and analyze data about a client, the first step in delivering nursing care. Assessment includes not only physiological data, but also psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and life-style factors as well. For example, a nurse’s assessment of a hospitalized patient in pain includes not only the physical causes and manifestations of pain, but the patient’s response—an inability to get out of bed, refusal to eat, withdrawal from family members, anger directed at hospital staff, fear, or request for more pain mediation. Diagnosis The nursing diagnosis is the nurse’s clinical judgment about the client’s response to actual or potential health conditions or needs. The diagnosis reflects not only that the patient is in pain, but that the pain has caused other problems such as anxiety, poor nutrition, and conflict within the family, or has the potential to cause complications—for example, respiratory infection is a potential hazard...

... --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Potter and Perry, Fundamentals of nursing (8th), Chapter 16 p. 210-211 Types of Data --There are two primary sources of data: subjective and objective. Subjective data are your patients’ verbal descriptions of their health problems. Only patients provide subjective data. For example, Mr. Jacobs's report of incision pain and his expression of concern about whether the pain means that he will not be able to go home as soon as he hoped are subjective findings. Subjective data usually include feelings, perceptions, and self-report of symptoms. Only patients provide subjective data relevant to their health condition. The data sometimes reflect physiological changes, which you further explore through objective data collection. --Objective data are observations or measurements of a patient's health status. Inspecting the condition of a surgical incision or wound, describing an observed behavior, and measuring blood pressure are examples of objective data. The measurement of objective data is based on an accepted standard such as the Fahrenheit or Celsius measure on a thermometer, inches or centimeters on a measuring tape, or known characteristics of behaviors...

Balance

...understand that you probably picked this book up because you’d like to be healthier and weigh less. I get it! I am very grateful that you are here, and I am excited to share my story and what I’ve learned from working with thousands of women just like you. So even though we’re not calling this a weight loss book, it definitely is a book that will help you release weight. What’s so unconventional about it is that it will tell you to stop dieting, to eat what you love, to ignore the numbers on the bathroom scale, and to change the way you think about controlling your weight. And, unlike most books about weight, we won’t be spending tons of time talking about what to eat. Instead, you’ll learn about balance, which will help you kick dieting and self-loathing to the curb. Listen, I know what you’re thinking: Balance, schmalance. You don’t care about balance. You just want to get rid...
