Cause and Effects: Stress on College Students
College is the start of young person independence. Most high school kids going to college this maybe their first time away from home. Higher learn facilities are the first step to the career path. Academic demands, social responsibilities and psychological make-up are the major points of stress among college students. These are the some points that will be discussed in this paper.
Academic demands on College Students
One of the most stressful parts of college is the academic demands on students. Classes and studying for these classes cause a lot of long night and earlier mornings. This is what one author had to say about it “ Many people experience stress as they combine busy live and the demands of study and or work while trying to also save for friends and family”. As the academic demands on college students increase, their stress level raises as well. Students overload themselves the first year of college trying to stay there. Academic performance is the one thing that can make or break you in college. Students take that to heart and sometimes try to hard to get good grades. Extra academic activities can so be a cause of stress for college students. They can be over welling for students coming from high school to college. The best practice when trying to balance your academics is that less is best. Having only the classes that you need for your first year of college and not trying over extent yourself. With stressing college, students I do not know which one are more stressful academic demands or social responsibilities.
