On his first stop of the Family Matters tour, Chance The Rapper had Austin in a roar Sunday night. The 22 year old gave Stubb’s on 6th street a taste full of vibrant tunes that involved a beautiful blend of drums, horns, and a trumpet. On top of that, Chance’s own vocals echoed through the building. This live concert showcased the Family Matters group performance and Chance’s own strong melody infused vocals followed with a sold out crowd full of passionate energy that makes this show one that will be remembered eternally. The mixture of kicked-up dust, sweat, and skunk-like smoke had the formula for a beautiful concert. The crowd ranged from teenagers to young grandparents, following Austin’s motto, “Keep Austin Weird”. Everyone could enjoy the night together. Among an audience surrounding the stage, the aroma in the air was filled with young positive energy. The night felt additionally certain when J. Cole made an appearance, reviving everyone’s energy. Whether it is a Drake concert or a young unsung stud from the south side of Chicago, only the performer and their fans can bring together an amazing show and that’s what happened last Sunday night at Stubb’s.
