CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study Before entering college, students have big dreams about it. Students expect it to be places of fun and excitement, where students can cut classes as per students wish, watch numerous movies with friends, where it can sharpen the talents and become an expert in the field of the liking. But a few months down the line, students are fully baffled by what all is taking place around them: Numerous assignments and class tests, frequent university examinations, practical, projects. Students find everyone doing everything promptly. Students find themselves lost at times and sometimes even thoroughly frustrated.(Akshay Surendran, 2007) For any individual pursuing studies in a specific field, the most dreaded time for the academic year is most certainly when the examinations start. The entire year’s preparation comes down to a few decisive days and these days make or break the entire purpose of studying. Student has different approach to preparing for their examination, and many preparation strategies. The secret behind acing an examination is very simple – start early and study regularly. Out of all strategies that student will hear, this one will be the most common and almost students will preach this strategies to the student. Student can begin their preparation for examinations early, it will considerably ease the burden on the student head and lessen a lot of stress that student may feel. The more students postpone their studying and preparation, the harder it will be for the student. (Rahul Thadani, 2011) Examinations students can stress even the most organized of students. But it doesn’t have to. With a little preparation, even the most scatterbrained student can ace examinations. The trick is to start early. Examinations are terrible and stressful things to study for, especially knowing that it can make or break your final mark. Being able to study in the proper manner will achieve the best results. (KernelPone, 2012)

Examinations strategies work for everyone, none of this represents an easy way out in examination papers. This isn't a miracle key that anyone can use to succeed. Students need to devote a lot of time and persistence if student want this examination technique method to work. However much it may rail against it and bemoan the fact that examination papers may not reflect knowledge, in the real world, examination results do tend to count for a lot, career wise. If students going to do them, it makes sense to do them well. (Miriam Vered, 2012)

Every person has his own way of studying to achieve success in examinations. Some like studying in the early morning, some like to do late nights, some like studying all through the year while some believe that last minute study is effective. Whatever the method is it is always better to be thoroughly prepared for the examinations and there should not be a last minute rush. (Prerna Salla, 2011-2012)

The student strategy use for examination preparation might be different than strategies used by others. It will be based on skills, knowledge, experience, and finding the recipe that works best for it.

When it comes for studying or learning, every student prefer his or her distinct pattern that suits their speed, grasping capacity and other academic abilities. However there are certain studying techniques that can aid the learning process to a great extent. Taking notes in the class, reviewing the notes, rewriting the study material can seem too much intimidating at times, student need to acquire some useful study habits to follow a good study plan. (Uttara Manohar, 2011)

Examinations can be strenuous both physically and mentally, but the stress can be eradicated through adhering to some simple examination preparation techniques. Study is the most important aspect of examination preparation. To get the most out of studying student should stick to a few simple examination preparation techniques, which will help prevent things like stress and anxiety as well as improving his or her organizational skills. Examinations can be a stressful time that can take a toll on both the health and emotional strength of a person, however much of the stress can be reduced by practicing some helpful study techniques. Study is the core of any exam preparation. It does not matter how well student paid attention in class or to a tutor, student will need to prepare for an examinations at one time or another. To ensure a smooth and successful examination, student can practice some simple study techniques for a proper study session. (2011, helpful.com)

Theoretical Framework This study will employ various strategies of examination preparation apply by the respondent. It will assist the respondent in forming better examination preparation and creating a strategies that is best for the respondent.

Research Paradigm
The independent variables are the Examination Preparation Strategies and the dependent variable is the Junior Students of Radiologic Technology.
Statement of the Problem This study aims to determine the Examinations Strategies employed by the Students of School of Allied Medicine. Specifically it aims to answer the following questions: 1. What is the profile of the respondents in terms of: a. Gender b. Ethnicity c. Socio Economic Status 2. What is the level of Examination Strategies employed by the respondents? 3. Is there a significant difference in the Examination Strategies employed by the respondents when they are grouped according to gender, ethnicity and socio economic status?
Hypothesis
There is no significant difference in the Examinations Preparations Strategies of the respondents of School of Allied Medicine when the students are classified according to gender, ethnicity and social economic status.
Significance of the Study To students. The propose study serves the students as their reference or guide in creating good study strategies is an invaluable asset in all areas of life, not just school. The term "study strategies" encompasses a broad range of strategies and abilities: time management, research and analysis, reading, writing, verbal communication, and others that escape the memory at the moment. Essentially having well developed study skills will help student become a more confident, effective, productive and intelligent person in both their personal and professional lives. Student should be both knowledgeable in subject matters and skills in study techniques. This will result in better grades, as well as making feel confident and good. Gain knowledge through study and skill through application of what you learned. If any exams tend to be coming, it is very important to use effective studying techniques. Students that do not study will not likely succeed in exams so that they normally get reduced grades. To teachers. The propose study will help teachers to have a deeper understanding the need to improve student study strategies has driven some teachers to find unique and creative ways to persuade students to move beyond simply reading material to fully understanding it. To future researcher. The propose study will benefits and help the future researcher as their guide. The study can also open in development of this study. They may be able to use the result of the study in farther research similar to what study is.

Scope and Delimitation of the Study The scope of this research is the Junior Students of Radiologic Technology. The delimitations of this research are only those students that are currently enrolled at School of Allied Medicine of Universidad de Zamboanga.
Definitions of Terms
Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology- A four year course offered in School of Allied Medicine wherein the objective is to train the students to become a Radiologic Technologist.
School of Allied Medicine Students- students enrolled in Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology.
Exam Strategies or Test Strategies – is an outline that describes the testing approach of the software development cycle
Exams – an examination as in school.

Study Strategies - are approaches applied to learning and are considered essential for acquiring good grades, and are useful for learning throughout one's life.

CHAPTER II

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This chapter presents the methodology that will be use in the conduct study and will include the research design, locale of the study, population and sampling design, data gathering tools, reliability and validity, data gathering procedures and statistical tools.

Research Design

The study will use the descriptive survey. According to Gay (2008), descriptive method as involving collections of data in order to test hypothesis or to answer question concerning the current status of the subject of the study.

Research Locale

The study will be conducted at the School of Allied Medicine of Universidad de Zamboanga. The Radiologic Technology Department is one of the departments of the School of Allied Medicine. It is located at the south wing of the Summit Center, Don Toribio Street, Tetuan, Zamboanga City.

Population and Sampling Design ????

Data Gathering Tools

The research pattern to a standardized questionnaire will be use to measure the “Examination Preparation Strategies Employed by the Junior Students of Radiologic Technology.”

The questionnaire consisted of two parts: Part I construct the profile of the respondents. While the part II provides questions to identify the level of the strategies will be use.

Data Gathering

The gathering of the data start from the time, the researchers will ask permission from the coordinator of the Radiologic Technology Department to allow the respondent to answer the questionnaire. All respondents will be given ample of time to read and answer the questionnaire. The researchers retrieve the questionnaire, compile and process the data will be follow.

Statistical Treatment

The gathering data in this study will be carefully tabulate, compute, analyze and interpret. Weighted mean, Frequency, Counts Percentage, ANOVA or F-test will be use in the treatment of the gathering data. To determine the profile of the respondents according to gender, ethnicity and social economic status, Frequency and Count Percentage will be use. To determine the level of Examination Preparation Strategies employed by the respondents when according to gender, ethnicity and social economic status, ANOVA or F-test will be use.
