Success
You don't always achieve a goal you want. There can be plenty of failures throughout a dream. eventually somehow, someway, someone reaches the beauty of success. Success is a beautiful thing, for it alone does not always have to consist of major achievements. Success can range from getting a perfect score on a school exam, to becoming a CEO of a multimillion dollar corporation. Success can always have its own values. Values that have meaning, meaning to the person involved in some kind of way either being different emotional sizes. About every human being wants to be successful. Sometimes by total mistake they end up achieving a great task that ends up being success. For example an Artist, a musician can be randomly messing with sounds just for the fun of it, and out of nowhere it can become a Grammy winning song, album, or whatever! Things just happen sometimes. However another way to success is to really want it. Not just want it, but to REALLY REALLY want it ALOT ! You have to have the mindset of you having to accomplish that goal. Being able to put forth the effort, determination, and to dedicate yourself to whatever it is your trying to do. A prime example, Michael Jordan, basketballs icon. Jordan wasn't always the best. He wasn't always NBAs MVP. He had to work his way up to that. As a child he practiced, put in a serious amount of hard work. Then came a day that forever changed him. He got cut from his High schools basketball team. Michael didn't set it out as a reason to quit. He made the best of that situation. He wanted it even more. The situation of failure made him eager and hungry for success. Look at him now one of the best ball players who ever played made failure into success. Success can come in many different types of ways. Everyone is successful at one point in their lives, even if they say they

Añonuevo, Sabbyna R. Cara, Angelica P. Paguiligan, Noemi D. BAMC 4B Mr. Regemrei P. Bernardo MARCH 2016 Chapter I The Problem and Its Setting INTRODUCTION A film is a characterization of diverse emotions and motions of a society (Santillan, 1998, 155, as cited in Campomanes, 2015). As disciplines and fields of knowledge, History and Film differ from their own characteristics and potencies however as in the teaching of history, there are times when their relationship is evident. According to CCP (1994) historical films are “films based on biographies and events in the distant past.” Following this definition, it has been said that there are two kinds of historical films, one that uses history only as a context and the latter that attempts to directly represent a historical period, place or personality. (Navarro 2008, 134 as cited in Campomanes, 2015) The amount of information we gain from a book can hardly be equaled to the ones we gain in a film for the reason that a film is limited with its running time. Although with...

Martial Law Article Compilation

...Experience Marcos dictatorship in Thailand By: Joel Ruiz Butuyan IF FILIPINO voters who are motivated with a longing to bring back the Marcos years will have their way in the May elections, all Filipino Facebook users will be in jail. This was my conclusion after a four-day stay in Thailand last week to witness the court trials of two political prisoners, and to meet with journalists and lawyers who are fighting to keep the embers of freedom alive despite the authoritarian rule of a military junta. I was in Thailand as the representative of the Center for International Law (Centerlaw), a nongovernment organization founded by my colleague Harry Roque. Centerlaw represents victims of human rights violations, especially persecuted advocates of freedom of expression. It is working to strengthen the network of free expression advocates in Southeast Asia. For four days, I listened to stories of arbitrary arrest and detention, intimidation, and some instances of torture committed by the very government that is supposed to protect the Thai citizenry against such crimes. It is all too reminiscent of the martial rule of Ferdinand Marcos in the Philippines. The Thai military junta, euphemistically known as the National Council for Peace and Order, mounted a coup d’état and ousted the government of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra. The junta imposed martial law when it seized power in May 2014, and while the regime officially lifted it in April 2015, Thailand remains under martial...

Brazilian Agriculture and the Wto

...1 AGRICULTURE IN BRAZIL: FROM THE 1980’s TO THE G-20 MAURO MASON DE CAMPOS ADORNO Thesis Submitted in Partial Fulfilment of the Requirements of the Degree of Master by Coursework in International Policy Studies School of Politics Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences La Trobe University Bundoora, Victoria 3083 Australia 2 July 2005 Abstract The Brazilian economy transformed from a state of financial crisis in the 1980’s to become a leading agriculture exporter in the late 1990’s. Economic reforms implemented by the Real Plan were a response to a bankrupt decade of failed economic plans and high inflation rates. In this period agriculture played a key role in the control of the inflation and in the stabilization of the economy. The domestic environment of the Brazilian economy and the role of agriculture helped Brazil to develop a more active role and led it to seek for a leadership position in the international agricultural negotiations. On the eve on the WTO’s Cancun Round of negotiation a new coalition of developing countries formed the G-20. The Group was born from a Brazilian initiative and for the first time a group of developing countries stood up against the developed countries in the agriculture negotiations. 3 Acknowledgments I would like to dedicate this thesis to my mother Ana and my brother Matheus. Who believed in me even when I did not. I love you guys. I would like to thank my Father for the support, during the whole process,...

Participation of Women in Politics

...Participation of Women in Philippine Politics and Society: A Situationer Introduction This paper is intended to provide an overview of the status of women in the Philippine society especially in the aspect of politics and the labor market. This should be considered as a work in progress which the author aims to further develop as a comprehensive situation paper that can both provide the reader a consolidated picture of the gender equality challenge in the country and motivate them on the need to contribute in changing the so-called “divides and mirages” in Philippine sexual politics. According to the latest gender disaggregated data, women constitute 37.9-million (49.6%) of the 76.5 million Filipinos as of May 2000. Almost 15.5-million are between ages 15 to 40 reflecting a young female population. However, while women constitute nearly half of the population, its status in the Philippine society is still characterized by sharp contradictions of obvious gains, on one hand, and glaring inequalities on the other. One can find both major advancements for women’s role and graphic gender inequality in specific areas of the society. The Human Development Report 2002 (UNDP) revealed that 35% of Filipino administrators and managers are women -- which is one of the highest in the world. Additionally, approximately 17.2% of all the legislative seats are occupied by women and 2/3 of professionals and technical workers are women. This puts the country’s...

...Duterte reveals platform of government Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano were set to lay down their platform of government in a forum on Thursday (January 7) at the Plaza Independencia in Cebu City. In a press conference prior to the event, Duterte revealed some plans he had once elected as president. He said that his administration would be "left leaning" and he has a socialist principle. Duterte said that he would push for an end to the insurgency problem with communist rebels, having direct contacts with the NPA-NDF leaders such as Joma Sison. Duterte also said that he was against contractualization of laborers and would push for reforms in the income tax law which will cover more exemptions such as for those earning below P20,000 a month. The Davao chief executive also said that he would not declare martial law — unlike the "doomsday" scenario painted by his opponents. "But I tell criminals not to push me to go the extreme," Duterte warned. Duterte also specifically said that he would end the problem of illegal drugs in just three to six months into his administration. Organizers and supporters of Duterte said that it would be the first time for the tandem to lay down their platform of government. Duterte: Polls on federalism in 2 yrs DAVAO CITY—Presumptive President-elect Rodrigo Duterte projected a two-year timetable to submit to a referendum his proposal to dismantle the current presidential, unitary...

Phil Literature

...PHILIPPINE LITERATURE Philippine literature is the body of works, both oral and written, that Filipinos, whether native, naturalized, or foreign born, have created about the experience of people living in or relating to Philippine society. It is composed or written in any of the Philippine languages, in Spanish and in English, and in Chinese as well. Philippine literature may be produced in the capital city of Manila and in the different urban centers and rural outposts, even in foreign lands where descendants of Filipino migrants use English or any of the languages of the Philippines to create works that tell about their lives and aspirations. The forms used by Filipino authors may be indigenous or borrowed from other cultures, and these may range from popular pieces addressed to mass audiences to highly sophisticated works intended for the intellectual elite. Having gone through two colonial regimes, the Philippines has manifested the cultural influences of the Spanish and American colonial powers in its literary production. Works may be grouped according to the dominant tradition or traditions operative in them. The first grouping belongs to the ethnic tradition, which comprises oral lore identifiably precolonial in provenance and works that circulate within contemporary communities of tribal Filipinos, or among lowland Filipinos that have maintained their links with the culture of their non-Islamic or non-Christian ancestors. The second grouping consists of works that show...
