...http://www.aasc.ucla.edu/ Summary of the information found on this site: The UCLA Asian American Studies Center was established to educate the international public about the intellectual, cultural, and political diversity of the Asian American and Pacific Islander. The Asian American Studies grew out of the social movements and civil struggles of the 1960’s and 1970’s. This organization has a number of helpful links for managers to access that address issues such as biases against diverse ethnic and immigrant communities of Asian American and Pacific Islander populations. I specifically liked the connection this information has that can be utilized for Asian community development. For example: 1. Fellowships and Scholarships 2. Service Learning and Internship Program 3. Student Leadership Development and Organizational Development I chose to elaborate on the Student Development and Organization Development, because these student organizations prepare students in leadership through campus and community issues, work on campus, and alumni groups. These organizations are good resources for companies who are looking for future talent with leadership and organizational skills. 2. Diversity Resources http://www.diversityresources.com/ Summary of the information found on this site: Diversity Resources publishes diversity and multicultural educational and training materials for organizations. ...PART – 1 Title of the Report: Evaluation of Environment Health & Safety Audit and Budgetary Practices; Case Study of British American Tobacco Bangladesh. [pic] PART – 2 Introduction to the Study 2.1 Rationale Supply Chain Management Department of British American Tobacco Bangladesh Ltd vision is to be the best Supply Chain Management department in Bangladesh. . It’s vital to ensure our supply chain is fit for purpose for the long term. Importantly our approach covers both our own operations and our wider supply chain... To me it’s clearly good business, as well as good stewardship. Supply chains have always needed to be flexible and agile. But there are increasing pressures to adapt faster than before: climate change, more competition and demand for greater business growth, to name a few. The anticipated growth in demand for agricultural products is particularly relevant for us. As the global population expands and economic development generates more disposable incomes, there will be increased competition between crops for energy, land and water. We also expect business to play a greater role in addressing social and environmental issues, through influence and public-private partnerships. 2.2 Background (Description of the Organization/Company): The British American Tobacco Group is one of the world’s leading international manufacturers of cigarettes, marketing its products in almost every country worldwide. It is clear...

Human Resource

...The Best of Many Worlds: Human Resources in the Singapore Business Environment A Regional Research Report Prepared By Salman Khan, Carly Rae Jepsen, Psy and Anita Mui S P Jain School of Global Management Global BBA Program, Singapore April 3, 2012 Executive Summary Human Relations: The department or support systems responsible for personnel sourcing and hiring, applicant tracking, skills development and tracking, benefits administration and compliance with associated government regulations. (Entrepreneur.com) The human resources (HR) role is becoming increasingly important in the business world. Human resources includes the combination of traditionally administrative personnel functions with performance management, employee relations, and resource planning. The field draws upon concepts developed in industrial/organizational psychology. In the past, HR personnel did a lot of administrative work. This is changing with the global shift to service-based industries. As the role evolved, HR practitioners wanted to become business partners and actually engage more in the organization’s core business. At present, we see the function of HR going beyond being that of just a business partner to being at the forefront and, in some instances, heading business initiatives (Jones, 2012). We became interested in the field of HR for several reasons. One, it offers an attractive area of employment for business students. Also, it requires a good mix of interpersonal...

Human Resource

... Actual Word Count: 3,857 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The aim of this project is to analyse McDonald’s human resources practices from a strategic Human Resources management perspective. Strategic human resource management is a concept that relates to the way an organisation links its human resource strategies and practices to the organisation’s objectives and strategy. Since it’s a ‘strategic’ approach to human resource, the company’s strategy according to (Johnson, Scholes & Whittington 2011; p3) should be ‘the direction and scope of an organisation over a long- term, which achieves advantage in a changing environment through its configuration of resources and competences’. However there have been many debates varying from academics to critics about what strategic human resource management (SHRM) actually embraces and implies for organisations. Definitions range from 'a human resource system, that is tailored to the demands of the business strategy', (Snow, 1984)to 'the pattern of planned human resource activities intended to enable an organization to achieve its goals' (Wright and McMahan 1992). However, organisations that invest in SHRM anticipate receiving a return on their investment. Therapeutic Recreation Program Analysis

...When I found this Therapeutic Recreation program was offered at the University of Lethbridge, I was excited to receive the degree I have wanted for 22 years. I planned to use the education to make a stronger proposal to change my Child Life Activity Convenor position to a Therapeutic position on the Paediatric Unit in Medicine Hat. Smaller populations often struggle due to limited resources, but the level of needs for the individuals in the community remains the same. Most paediatric patients seen in the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital have short stays with rounds of IV therapy or surgical care which could benefit from Child Life Therapy, but some patients demand higher care with holistic needs during and after discharge. In recent years the unit in Medicine Hat has had an increase in...
