Do you ever wonder how the world came to be, How it came to be how it is now? Well, It took a lot of people with Courage. The thing they all had in common was that they all wanted to make a difference. Some people that changed the world are Melba Patillo Beals, in the story “Warriors Never Cry” By Melba Pattillo Beals. Jackie Robinson, in “I Never Had it Made” by Jackie Robinson and Lastly, Feng Ru in the story, “Father of Chinese Aviation” By Rebecca Maksel. Melba Pattillo Beals, Jackie Robinson, and Feng Ru all experienced life-changing events that impacted their lives and countries.
Feng Ru was a Chinese immigrant who built a plane. Feng Ru had always been into planes, and then when the Wright Brothers flew a plane for the first time, that motivated him to build and fly his own plane. Jackie had been playing in the smaller leagues before he went to play with the Brooklyn Dodgers. When he began to play in the major leagues he had to overcome a lot of challenges like death threats and “racial slurs”. “ It would be the first time, that a black man would be allowed to participate in a world series.I had become the first black player.” Jackie would receive threats, "racial slurs” from his teammates, fans, and from players on other teams. Considering all the hate he got, Jackie continued to play for his fans not just his black ones but both black and white. Robinson appreciates and is thankful for his wife, Rachel, and Mr.Rickey for supporting him.Jackie was proud to have become the first black player in the major leagues. He said, “ I was proud to be in the hurricane eye of a significant breakthrough.” Jackie was proud to set the path for other black people to show them they can achieve their goals as well. As you can see, Jackie Changed Sports forever and has had a huge impact on sports
