“Magic on a Plate” by Rick Bragg’s Rick Bragg’s took me on a magical journey about the wonderful food in New Orleans in his story “Magic on a Plate.” The purpose of this story is to illustrate the theme which is food and how the delicious the food is in New Orleans. He describes how the food is made from magic and is better than anywhere else in the world. In the story Bragg’s tell us to think of the food as magic. The fried chicken is so good that it “made grown men damn near cry.” He describes the chicken being so good that despite it is hot, grown men burns their fingers trying to eat it.
