According to the 2010 U.S. census, about 22% of our country’s 5.2 million Native Americans live on tribal lands along with reservations. The main character in The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian by Sherman Alexie is about a Native American who lives on a reservation and learns to follow his own path. The topics in this essay are Indian reservations, Indian schools and, Indians today.
