1 . Joe Ehrman lived a very inspiring life with ups and downs bigger than the stock market. The thing that probably impacted his life the most was the death of his little brother Billy. After Billy's death, Joe took a whole new perspective on life that led him to be the person who changed the lives of thousands of people across the USA.
Another thing that took a toll on Joe was the Gilman football team. He had a passion for coaching and he loved the team with all his heart. It gave him a chance to pass on his work to a new generation of men who were trying to find their way.

2. I think that Coach Erman and Coach Biff were great coaches and had very good methods as coaches. Instead of yelling at the boys if they weren't good enough they would encourage them to try harder next time. Their approach towards the Gilman football team was what made them such a good team and gave their players a different meaning of friendship. 5. Reading this book has changed my perceptions on what it means to be a real man because I think that the meaning of masculinity is being a man of the people like Jesus and being there for others. False masculinity to me is being a selfish man only for yourself and not helping others.

6. Coach Joe's quote of empathy means that empathy is the only trait that separates us from animals. Empathy to me means to understand others feelings and actions. An example of empathy from this book is when Joe said sometimes some of us get paralyzed when we feel we don't have as much as’ or as’ good.
