In the Poem Barriers by Karley Kay, she describes the aftermath of a relationship after something major occurred. She talks about her walls being broken down and that she will never trust her ex again. It tells you how she built up these walls to protect herself, but still you broke them down and now she has to build them up again. The poem continues to build to the breaking of trust and that her new barriers are built to protect her from her ex. And while he constantly tries to apologize, she will never let you in and the new barriers are not coming down and she will never want him again.
