Take What is Yours At the present time I am no longer employed but previously when I worked for a large conglomerate the evaluation system we implemented after we merged all our companies was based on several key areas. The Human Resources Manager and myself put together a system after gathering what was bring used at each division we purchased and felt what was best and most contusive to the review process for the individual and the companies and made one standard form. I was involved because I was in the operations department and was highly involved in all the companies and dealt with every employee and knew their needs and concerns and addressed them as needed. We made sure that each employee was able to voice their opinions, their accomplishments, needs, concerns and what they wanted to see for the growing family of companies that were uniting and what areas could be implemented.

First we thought it would be helpful to have the employee and the supervisor each fill out an evaluation report. The employees on themselves, which is why it is so critical to keep copies of their work, email, and milestones to use as examples during there review process. We asked them what types of teamwork they participated in, what initiative it took and how they participated in the team projects and what type of work they did outside of their job scope, if they added to their job description and learned anything more and contributed more knowledge to the position and updated their position manual at their desk with this information. It really is an opportunity for the employee to brag about themselves and all the hard work they have done and the research they have put forth into the company. I myself, always e-mailed and blind copied myself to a private account to make sure that the credit given in the review process.

To What Extent Do the Different Theories of Development Discussed in Book 1, Chapter 2 Take Account of the Role of Social Experiences in Child Development? Use Examples in Your Essay to Illustrate Different Aspects of Child Development.

...In this essay, I will be exploring the role of social experiences in child development. It is important to consider and define what social experience is when taking it into account in the terms of social development. For the purpose of exploring the ideas in Book 1, Chapter 2; social experiences is physical and mental interaction between other children and adults either directly or through observation by watching social interaction and feeling socially involved. So, with that in mind, for a child’s environment to not contain some sort of social experience, they would have to be socially isolated by either being alone or by ignoring their surroundings. Throughout this essay I will be assessing the role of social experience in each theory and evaluating the extent it has played in a child’s development. ‘Behavourism’ is a conditioning theory, which involves consequences for behaviour. Depending on the desired behaviour, the child is either rewarded or punished for how they behave according to the particular behaviour. The ‘Constructivism’ theory is a school of though that children build their own learning depending and through their own experiences and activities. In the ‘constructivism’ theory, children follow a set of stages in development. The ‘Social Learning Theory’ teaches that children learn by example, by observing others they understand and learn how to behave. The last theory I will be exploring is ‘Social Constructivism’ theory believes that children build their development...

...differently.  But eventually, you accept the experience as a lesson learned and you move on with your life.  This is hardly the worst kind of regret.  What could be worse? The chances you didn’t take.  The relationships you were afraid to nurture.  The decisions you waited too long to make.  The things you didn’t even try when you had the chance.  Those important words you left unspoken and deeds you left undone. The good news is, it’s not too late.  You are here breathing, which means you still have a chance to do what you might have done, and be what you might have been.  Right now you have an opportunity to write yourself a future free of regret. So take this opportunity and…  1.  Take the first step. The greatest miracle of your success in life will not be that you finished, it will be that you had the courage to begin. The feeling you get from taking the first step is far better than the feeling you get from sitting around thinking about it.  Get up and get moving.  Take the first step today – just one small step forward on that goal you’ve been meaning to work on. Even if you don’t feel 100% prepared right now, your worst try will always be 100% more effective than the person who never did.  It is so easy to get caughtup in planning and perfecting that before you know it, you have made taking the first step a bigger deal than it is.  Sometimes you just have to go ahead and take things as they come, one step at a time. Creatively, you may be faced with a choice of doing what you know is marketable or going out on a limb with your own vision, or giving up a steady job to follow your creative pursuits full-time. Risk is, by nature, scary. It's uncertain and unpredictable. You're heading off into uncharted territory. You may lose your life savings or lose face. You risk criticism and humiliation, or having to pick up the pieces and start all over again. You're giving up what you know for what might be. The rewards can be great, but so can the cost. So, why would anybody want to take a risk? ~ Risk gives you an opportunity to open up to your talents, interests, abilities and dreams. ~ Risk teaches you to set clear goals and follow through. ~ Risk allows you to feel powerful and proactive, making things happen rather than waiting for them to happen *to* you. ~ Risk opens you up to new ideas, skills, opportunities and experiences. ~ Risk allows you to grow and discover new things about yourself and the world, to develop your strengths and talents. ~ Risk allows you to conquer your fears. ~ Risk is exhilarating. Advice for Manager

...Work on your self-esteem, and try to stop the automatic thinking that sets your sights so high that your efforts can never measure up. It is OK to be hard on yourself on occasion, but be sure to take some time to be proud of your successes as a manager - and as a person. Reflect seriously about how you perceive yourself. Note your own negative and positive self-impressions. Write down what you like about yourself, what your strengths are, the people to whom you are important, and why you are important to them. Also, keep track of your negative perceptions and try to figure out why you took that particular issue so seriously. Maybe it wasn’t so bad after all. Explore why you should be proud of yourself and review this list often. Keep a journal of your thoughts, moods, and daily activities. Observe your automatic reactions to events at work and how you feel about yourself during daily life. If you make what you see as a horrendous mistake and feel like the lowest, lamest, most despicable worm on the earth, then write down the event, how you feel about yourself, and how you interpret the situation. Next, consider the situation from other perspectives and write these thoughts down as well. Follow these steps to gain new insight about your perceptions: - Do a serious reality-check: Are other people thinking as scathingly about you? If friends or colleagues were in your shoes, how would you interpret the situation? You probably wouldn't be so harsh towards them. - Think about what your...

Personal Responsibility

...whatever is in your reality is your responsibility.” (Neta) I have been the responsibility of others for the first 18 years of my life. My parents have been responsible for taking care of me, sending me to school and ensuring my younger education, my meals, roof under my head, making sure I stay out of trouble and so forth. I have been the responsibility of babysitters, other family members and teachers. Never did I know or pay attention to how much personal responsibility means. Once I turned 18 years of age, I then found out what personal responsibility was all about and what it meant. “How else can children learn personal responsibility if they do not see the adults in their lives display the same quality.” (Rose, 1996) Personal responsibility is taking responsibility for your actions, accepting the consequences that come from those actions and understanding that what you do impacts those around you. To me this means that instead of blaming others for an action or outcome done by you, you own up to it and takes responsibility for yourself. Also, being aware of what is right and wrong and being aware of what I should do in order to achieve what I want. After a certain point in your life you must take personal responsibility for yourself and your actions. Once you leave your parent’s house and responsibility, you have your own. You now have to pay your own bills, go to college, get a job, do your own taxes, learn how to manage your own money, and survive on your own. I would have...

Beautiful Advice from Divorced Man

...had 1. Never stop courting. Never stop dating. NEVER EVER take that woman for granted. When you asked her to marry you, you promised to be that man that would OWN HER HEART and to fiercely protect it. This is the most important and sacred treasure you will ever be entrusted with. SHE CHOSE YOU. Never forget that, and NEVER GET LAZY in your love. 2. Protect your own heart. Just as you committed to being the protector of her heart, you must guard your own with the same vigilance. Love yourself fully, love the world openly, but there is a special place in your heart where no one must enter except for your wife. Keep that space always ready to receive her and invite her in, and refuse to let anyone or anything else enter there. 3. Fall in love over and over again. You will constantly change. You’re not the same people you were when you got married, and in five years you will not be the same person you are today. Change will come, and in that you have to re-choose each other everyday. SHE DOESN’T HAVE TO STAY WITH YOU, and if you don’t take care of her heart, she may give that heart to someone else or seal you out completely, and you may never be able to get it back. Always fight to win her love just as you did when you were courting her. 4. Always see the best in her. Focus only on what you love. What you focus on will expand. If you focus on what bugs you, all you will see is reasons to be bugged. If you focus on what you love, you can’t help but be consumed by love. Focus to...
