Albert Einstein is credit that, “…It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity.” (Einstein). This is what we can see happening around the world, how technology is changing the way people communicate. Technology also has really made changes in human behavior and is affecting people’s mind significantly. Electronic communication is rapidly becoming the preference of people, especially because of the growing market of smart phones.
“Albert Einstein was a German-born theoretical physicist who developed the general theory of relativity, one of the two pillars of modern physics (alongside quantum mechanics). While best known for his mass–energy equivalence formula E = mc2 (which has been dubbed "the world's most famous equation"), he received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics "for his services to theoretical physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect". The latter was pivotal in establishing quantum theory.” (Wikepedia). Comparing that period of time with nowadays, us can see that the technology around the world has been changed significantly. Cell phone service is an example of this change; it is becoming much more consistent than it was in the past. Mobile internet service messages can be transmitted anywhere at any time.
Nowadays, people are using their cell phones for texting more than calling, especially the young generation, which is worrisome. They do not want talk on the phone anymore, and they are avoiding conversation. People are losing their oral and writing skills because they do not use the correct spelling and grammar, complete sentences, and use abbreviations when they are texting.
The main problem in this situation is that people are having a loss in communication and interpersonal skills. Many people do not know how to have a conversation because most of the time, they are only

Life Without Technology Would Be More Fulfilling

...“It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity”, unquote- Albert Einstein. A very good morning to the chairperson, timekeeper, honorable judges, the audience and my dear opponents. The motion for today’s debate is, life without technology would be more fulfilling. Ladies and gentlemen, let me first define life & technology. Life is the existence of an individual human being or animal. Satisfaction is fulfillment of one’s wishes, expectations, or needs or the pleasure derived from this. Happiness is feeling or showing pleasure. Fulfilling, ladies and gentlemen, fulfilling. What is fulfillment? Fulfillment is the satisfaction or happiness as a result of fully developing one’s abilities or characters. I, the first speaker, will be speaking about men’s dependence on technology and human interaction, our second speaker will be speaking on Maslow Hierarchy of needs and how technology distracts us from achieving more fulfillment and our third speaker will rebut the opposition’s case and will be furthering our case if necessary. Our baseline for today is, ‘A beautiful painting, is not a product of a good brush but rather a good painter” How long has it been since you took a long stroll along the beach? How long has it been since you stood and stared leisurely...

Human Interaction with the Environment

...Name Professor Course Number Date How Do You Think Humans Interact With the Environment? Introduction The term environment has different definitions depending on the context and the people involved. Culture and technological advancements of a people are some of the criteria used to define the term environment. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines the environment as the “complex physical, chemical, and biotic factors that act upon and organism and ultimately determine its survival.” An important point to note from this definition is that, in this particular case, the human being is the organism whose survival is dependent on the environment. Among all living organisms on earth, none has influenced the environment as humans. In their daily activities, people build houses, roads, cities, dams, and carry out various other activities in order to make life more comfortable. Consequently, human beings adapt, depend on, and modify the environment in order to make life more comfortable. This has resulted in consequences such as climate change that have only recently been appreciated by the global community. It is an irrefutable fact that human beings cannot survive without the environment. Therefore, the topic of how humans are interacting with the environment is becoming an increasingly debated topic. This paper seeks to discuss how humans interact with the environment and the impacts that have resulted from these interactions. Finally, a solution to the challenge brought about...

Richard Louv's "Last Child in Th Woods" Essay

...Albert Einstein recognized, “It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity.” Richard Louv, writer of Last Child in the Woods conveys a sarcastic tone and imagery to address the idea of “why do so many people no longer consider the physical world worth watching?” He also ponders, “Why do so many Americans say they want their children to watch less TV, yet continue to expand the opportunities for them to watch it?” Louv visualizes explaining the nineteenth century to a younger generation and how they will not understand what they hear. Louv assumes, “’You did what?’ they’ll ask. ‘Yes,’ we’ll say, ‘it’s true. We actually looked out the car window.’” He is sarcastic because he is in disbelief at how oblivious adolescence is becoming. Louv finds it humorous that children are becoming so dependent on technology and are becoming so detached from nature. He mocks our future generation and their foolhardiness that is arising within them. Richard Louv reminisces his days in the back seat of a driving car, and vividly explains his experience through imagery. He remembers when he “started with a kind of reverence at the horizon, as thunderheads and dancing rain moved with” him. He also personifies the “dancing rain” to portray his full image. Louv understands technology is going to expand and become more broad; however he can understand the intellectual details of nature that he remembers and realizes that technology is distracting people from visualizing...

Technology and the Human Spirit

...According to genius physicist and philosopher Albert Einstein, “It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity.” While the debate still continues on whether technology makes us monotonous and confines the human spirit, others say that technology allows for endless possibilities when it comes to imagination and the freedom of ones character. While certain technologies can dampen the human spirit, many technology advancements admit the decision for one to express themselves freely. Modern technology imprisons the human spirit by diminishing the time people spend face to face. People spend more time chatting on a cellphone and texting someone rather than talking to someone in person. For example, one might just text another person and consider them to be “hanging out”. While they may be chatting to one another, they do not get the feeling of actually spending time with that person up close and personal. This imprisons the genuine feeling of socializing therefore dulls the human spirit. New technologies allow people to communicate through long distances. Opening a portal for meeting new people and chatting with loved ones. For example, scientists can collaborate from other countries to find a cure to a disease. This collaboration through long distances can help people solve worldwide problems and stop pandemics. This enlightens the human spirit instead of imprisoning it. Video games and virtual worlds are preventing people from going out into...

...will define ecological footprint, present a deep understanding of the ecological footprint and show how it applies in measuring the peoples’ effects to the environment. The paper will also explain how the ecological footprint can be used in making choices that go in line with people’s lifestyles. The principles of ecological footprint date back to literatures related to geography, ecology and economics. However, the idea of the earth’s ecological footprint has been present since early 90’s (Wackernagel 35). William Rees in 1992 produced the first academic publication on ecological footprint. The concept of ecological footprint and calculation criteria was later developed by Mathis Wackernagel as a PhD dissertation under the supervision of Rees at British Columbia University in Vancouver. Originally, the concept was called the appropriated carrying capacity. Rees later came up with the ecological footprint term in order to ensure that the concept is accessible. The ecological footprint in the planet has transpired as the earth’s vital gauge of the individual’s demand on the environment and the entire nature. It is used in measuring the amount of land and area under water that the human population requires. The ecological footprint can be calculated by taking into consideration the entire biological materials that consumed and the total biological wastes that are produced annually by an individual. ...Does Islam promote the use of technology? Today’s materialistic approach to scientific advancements has definitely granted somewhat physical comfort to a man, but the mental and spiritual comfort is still lacking. Islam advocates the incorporation of knowledge about the religion and the scientific learning to the fullest and its use to the benefit of the mankind as well. On theoretical account, the ideology of Islam is a generic view of the universe and life. Therefore, a Muslim is required to gather the knowledge about the religion and the world both. In the time of ignorance Islam was the only religion which took the world out of the darkness and the misery. Islam brought the intellect amongst the Muslims within a few years’ time which made them more civilized and polished in their daily life activities. Those people acquire the knowledge from Islam and understood the fact that cognition is important for the benefit of mankind. They practically applied it to such a level that they exceeded all other nations in progress and growth and stayed at the top for many centuries. The Role of Technology

...The Role of Technology in Education Freeman Dyson, an American theoretical physics and mathematical, once said, “Technology is a gift of God. After the gift of life it’s perhaps the greatest of God’s gifts. It’s the mother of civilization, of arts and of sciences.” The role of technology in education in this world is increasing day by day. There are a lot of ways technology helps with improving education, but combining technology with education is the most important and effective way. Technology plays an important role in developing the education, and at the same time it made the process of learning and teaching easier and more enjoyable. Technology has changed the way of education in the last twenty years; it has made students’ lives easier, and increased knowledge more than in previous eras , but at the same time it has increased students’ opportunity for cheating. To begin with, technology has made students life easier. Twenty years ago, students had to carry heavy books and a pile of notebooks to class, and the class was just about listening to the teachers and using pens and papers. Now, students can use more than a pen and paper to learn and express themselves; they can use a software to create projects and make presentations, which makes learning more enjoyable for them. Besides, students can carry iPad instead of big fat books and a pile of notebooks, which is easier for them and even healthier for their bodies, so their back won’t hurt because of carrying...

Mobilephones

...Albert Einstein once stated, “it has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity”, and we can witness this just by spending a nice Sunday morning at a coffee shop observing people’s attitude and behavior . A Sunday morning at a Starbucks shop in Manchester can be the place where we can get a clue about the relationship of people and the small tablets that changed our lives over the last few years, the mobile phones. There we can observe how often, why, when, for how long as well as what does a mobile phone represents in each person’s life. On a Sunday morning people arrive in groups of 4-5 people to enjoy a hot cup of their favorite branded coffee as well as to catch up with their friends and gossip. However, although they are having fun since they are with their friends, they still feel the need to continuously check their phones. The obsession gets more obvious while texting checking their Facebook, putting on some music, taking a picture and at the same time chatting with their friends. Also some people were alone at the coffee shop in order to enjoy their favorite branded coffee, but still they were accompanied by their mobile phones. They used them to read the news online, to email a friend, to finish some work they have or even just to play a game. The phone is there to help us clear our minds; it does everything for us.
