The biggest technological change recently is the use of mobile phones. These days everybody seems to have them. Cell phones have improved safety. Children can now reach their parents and vice-versa. Schools can reach parents, too, and parents don’t need to worry about being out of contact during the day, as they can always be reached in an emergency. Everyone can connect everybody else in the matter of a few presses of buttons, a signal and a minute to connect. Victims of serious accidents such as car wrecks and earthquakes have been able to use their cell phones to contact help. With cell phones, help is always just a phone call away. Cell phones also have some negative impacts. It can be hard for people to get disconnected, for example, from work. Some employers assume that their employees will be permanently available for consultation or discussion, even when the employee is on vacation. When cell phones were first introduced, there was a lot of discussion about cell phone etiquette, but these days, most people seem to ignore that advice. People talk loudly on their phone in public spaces, and they take phone calls while in the middle of conversations with others. People answer their phones in movie theaters and conference presentations. Cell phones are a wonderful technology that adds to safety and the feeling of connectedness. They have become essential for business and personal use.

Also, technology has helped improve productivity at work by allowing manufacturers to produce more in less time using less manpower. Many simple tasks that workers used to do are now done by robots. For example, the robotic arm seen on a modern garbage truck enables the trash collection process to be done by one man. Although it may sound like a good thing, it has disadvantages too. Technology creates unemployment because of the fact that machines are cheaper to maintain than

Some People Think That Modern Technology Has Made Our Lives Complex. We Should Stop Using Modern Technology to Make Life Simpler. to What Extent Do You Agree or Disagree?

...As a matter of fact, the question whether modern technology has made our lives complex is a controversial one. Different individuals can hold various opinions due to their distinct backgrounds. In some areas, some people think that modern technology has made our lives complex, whereas in other fields, others believe that modern technology has made our lives simple and convenient. However, I give my vote to the latter opinion. Nowadays, with modern technology such as cars, it is quite common to see these cars in the roads: most families own a car. That results in complex traffic problems, air pollution and noise. Therefore, some people claim that modern technology seriously influences our life and causes a confused environment. In the other hand, if it won’t for modern technology in our lives, we would live as simply as ancient peoples did, with a comfortable environment. But actually, we can move quickly to another place with a car, which bring more convenience to life. More and more people think that we cannot imagine our lives without modern technology such as computers, smart phones and so on. We use computers to do business with programs like Microsoft Word and also to communication with email or Skype. No doubt we save time, paper and shorten distance because of computers. For one recent example, people were amazed to know that smart phones can change our life style. For instance, we just started to use smart phones which can take pictures, surf the internet, play games...

The media and the Internet provide us the latest information from all over the world. Movies filled with hi-tech special effects entertain us. Air conditioners and room heaters keep our life comfortable despite climatic inconveniences. Technology has changed almost every of our lives. Of course, technology may have concerns about the pollution and environmental problems. But overall most people feel that technology has benefited us immensely. Therefore let us go deeper to analyze that modern technology has increase material wealth, but not happiness on our society: Firstly, modern technology makes people's life boring, after working time people often sitting by their computer to play games or reading some information on internet. That means they do not refresh their mind and by accident they turn their own into slave of modern technology. It can make life better but it can cause you disease or stressed also. Second, modern technology has improved communication technology between cultures. ...most important characteristics of our era may be the transformation, transmission and dominion of information. We live in an information society where the leading role has been given to new technologies, especially those devoted to information. Our society could not be imagined without new technologies and their role both in this society and in human life in general. With advances in technology, student study habits have dramatically changed. It's affected the way classes are taught, students learn theories and the way information is presented. Gone are the days of slaving over books in the library and scribbling down notes on paper. Modern technology has rapidly changed our world. It improves the length and quality of life. Although modern technology brings an enormous number of benefits for mankind, it causes many harmful effects as well. Modern technologies are very powerful because they rely on one of the most powerful genetic biases we do have — the preference for visually presented information. The human brain has a tremendous bias for visually presented information. Television, movies, videos, and most computer programs are very visually oriented and therefore attract and maintain the attention of young children. The problem with this is that many of the modern technologies are very passive. Because of this they do not provide children with the quality and quantity of crucial emotional, social, cognitive, or physical experiences they require when they are young...

...Modern communication technologies such as mobile phones, e-mails and internet chat programs like the MSN Messenger have brought significant changes to our lives in recent years. Yet, there remains some disagreement as to whether the overall effect of this innovation has been positive or negative. Although there are valid arguments to the contrary, it is my belief that the majority of people in the globe have benefited greatly from these powerful and effective means of modern communication.  To begin with, mobile phones and other tools of modern communication facilitate not only contact with friends and relatives in faraway places but also global business. With the click of a button, the vast amount of information can be transmitted from America to China in just a few seconds. Furthermore, it is generally felt that the access to these tools of communication is available in every corner of the world. With a mobile phone or a laptop, a person can talk or send messages online at a bus stop, in a corner shop or anywhere they could imagine. Therefore, it seems that these new forms of communication do bring a great deal of convenience to humankind.  Nevertheless, opponents of modern communications claim that only the more privileged are able to enjoy the benefits. They further point out that the wide spread use of these efficient and effective ways of communication costs a considerable amount of money. Anyone who aims to use these innovations have to not only pay for the appliances...

...When a country develops its technology, the traditional skills and ways of life die out. It is pointless to try and keep them alive. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? Nowadays, technological advances and their rapid and wide applications are having a significant impact on a nation’s traditional skills and ways of life. Some argue that such impact is so extraordinary that it would make conventional skills and life styles obsolete. However, I believe they would continue to thrive by providing alternatives to modern ways of life, and innovative ideas for modern technologies. First of all, traditional skills and ways of life are becoming an alternative solution to the problems caused by “mainstreamed” ways of life which are greatly influenced by modern technologies. For instance, a cozy restaurant where traditional, home-brewed beer is served, offers another experience to people who are bored with branded beers that have the same flavor and come out of mass production with new technologies. It is in such a venue where traditional skills are preserved, people become relaxed and educated. Providing diversity and thus enriching modern ways of life, such traditional skills and ways of life would continue to have their place. Furthermore, conventional skills provide innovative ideas to the development of modern technologies. For example, sparkled by how the word “Love” is traditionally knitted into a sweater by some ethnic minority women in some...

...With the rapid growth of technology, there has been a debate on how we are using technology in our life. Many people think that we are now abusing modern devices to support for our own life; while others reckon that using technology brings us just good things and make our life easier. According to what I have observed and experienced, I believe that people, nowadays, have been overly dependent on technology. To begin with, it is not hard to recognize the intergral role of technology in houses. Housewives, nowadays, are no longer “housewives” as itself used to mean. They do almost every task with the assistance of modern machines. They have clothes washed by washing machine instead of doing that by hand as before or they clean dishes just by putting them into a dishwasher. In the past, televisions seemed like the luxurious thing but each family now has at least one or even more than two TV sets in their house. It is now common to catch the image of many children or some adults spending most of their time in front of the screens containing various attractive things. What is more, workplaces are becoming more and more dependent upon technology. In almost every company, there is an advancedly computerized system which makes tasks much easier and quicker. Most of employees have their own mobile phone or computer so that they could exchange information or documents as soon as they want without leaving their desks. Besides, there are many kinds of machine such as printers, photocopiers...

Modern Revolution Health

...New transportation and navigational technologies would later connect all world zones, ushering in greater global exchange, commerce, and collective learning. The modern revolution has improved the quality of life today because of advancements in healthcare, technology, and education. The development of new healthcare improves your quality of life physically. Now citizens can live longer, “In 1700, life expectancy was 27 years, but in 2100 it is anticipated that it will be 81 years” (Text 1). This shows a direct correlation to better health. Life expectancy could be up because of improved technology, medically based like the “X-ray and stethoscope” (Text 4). In the middle of the modern revolution, these inventions were discovered and were groundbreaking. It involves advanced communication and transport system. The current world has undergone diverse technological changes that have led to both positive and negative contributions to individuals’ lives. However, I agree that modern technological elements have contributed immensely towards making individuals’ lives easier than in the past because they have led to expansion of business transactions, increased social media marketing, and advanced the quality of education offered in schools. Modern technological elements have helped in the reduction of the effort put by people in carrying out daily activities. In the olden days, life was so challenging, students experienced difficult times in libraries searching for relevant studying materials. However, with the current availability of computers and internet, students carry out their research online. In addition, many relevant materials that can be of great aid to an individual carrying out research get posted online in form of eBooks, articles and journals. Sites such as Wikipedia also play significant roles in providing adequate information for utilization by researchers (Hanks, 88). Technological advancements also increase rate of innovation and creativity in individuals because they pose great challenge to individuals. In olden days...

...advances in technology for the sake of convenience. With the advancements of knowledge in our ever changing world inconvenience has become a thing of the past, or has it? In almost every aspect of one’s life we deal with technology. It is how we deal with that technology decides whether it is useful or not. In this essay, I will address the ways technology has affected my life and the lives of my friends and family through my own observations, experience and actions. Thinking of both convenience and technology in terms of comfort, it can work for us or against us. Technology has taken us away from the discomfort of everyday life that is now a thing of the past. Presently, people no longer know how to be self sufficient; technology has made us incompetent and unable to function without it. The convenience of technology brought us the remote control, so we now no longer get off the couch. Striving for comfort has removed us from the dinner table and into a fast food drive-thru. This quick and easy route has taken us away from quality time spent with the family. Technology has made us lazy, overweight, and unprepared. We have let technology take over our lives with and create a demand that if taken away would topple our society, so much so that people involve every aspect of their life, from their business and their children, with the technology.
