Teen Depression Satire Short Essay

Now a days teens are always going on and on about how hard their life is and casually tell others that they cut themselves every day and bleed 3 pints on the carpet and then go to bed. Obviously this shows how tough they are to everyone around them and they get comments like “OMG Jimmy you are so deep and hardcore that’s so hot”. This comes from a girl by the way or maybe some guys depending on their “orientation”, and the music that moves teens to do these things as well is rather impressive. I say, if all it takes is some asinine song lyrics and some black eyeliner to save your life, you probably weren’t that suicidal anyways. The music industry is cashing on the surging popularity of teen angst, manufacturing it so that if you’re not miserable, you’re obviously, “suppressing the darker side” to be “the happy bunny” this so-called “everyone” wants you to be.
Horizontal arm scars are a fashion trend much like skinny jeans, (and just as ugly) and your most recent suicide attempt is a lunch room buzzword. This culture of teenage suicide encourages self-mutilation by making it acceptable to give into pain, because apparently, some white-haired douchenozzle (Pardon my language) in LA gives a crap (sorry again) about your self-inflicted sense of alienation. To these teens these said white hairs give a twisted and distorted positive message that in reality is negative. Instead they take advantage of these teens very sensitive minds and instead of telling you to grow up and stop being a whiney little
