HCKI 534F/544F - Technical Data Sheet

HCKI534F/544F
SPECIFICATIONS & OPTIONS
WINDINGS & ELECTRICAL PERFORMANCE All generator stators are wound to 2/3 pitch. This eliminates triplen (3rd, 9th, 15th …) harmonics on the voltage waveform and is found to be the optimum design for trouble-free supply of non-linear loads. The 2/3 pitch design avoids excessive neutral currents sometimes seen with higher winding pitches, when in parallel with the mains. A fully connected damper winding reduces oscillations during paralleling. This winding, with the 2/3 pitch and carefully selected pole and tooth designs, ensures very low waveform distortion. TERMINALS & TERMINAL BOX Standard generators are 3-phase reconnectable with 12 ends brought out to the terminals, which are mounted on a cover at the non-drive end of the generator. A sheet steel terminal box contains the AVR and provides ample space for the customers' wiring and gland arrangements. It has removable panels for easy access. SHAFT & KEYS All generator rotors are dynamically balanced to better than BS6861:Part 1 Grade 2.5 for minimum vibration in operation. INSULATION/IMPREGNATION The insulation system is class 'H'. All wound components are impregnated with materials and processes designed specifically to provide the high build required for static windings and the high mechanical strength required for rotating components. QUALITY ASSURANCE Generators are manufactured using production procedures having a quality assurance level to BS EN ISO 9001. The stated voltage regulation may not be maintained in the presence of certain radio transmitted signals. Any change in performance will fall within the limits of Criteria 'B' of EN 61000-6-2:2001. At no time will the steady-state voltage regulation exceed 2%.

STANDARDS Newage Stamford industrial generators meet the requirements of BS EN 60034 and the relevant section of other international standards such as BS5000, VDE 0530, NEMA MG1-32, IEC34, CSA C22.2-100, AS1359. Other standards and certifications can be considered on request. VOLTAGE REGULATORS AS440 AVR - STANDARD With this self-excited system the main stator provides power via the Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) to the exciter stator. The high efficiency semi-conductors of the AVR ensure positive build-up from initial low levels of residual voltage. The exciter rotor output is fed to the main rotor through a three-phase full-wave bridge rectifier. The rectifier is protected by a surge suppressor against surges caused, for example, by short circuit or out-of-phase paralleling. The AS440 will support a range of electronic accessories, including a 'droop' Current Transformer (CT) to permit parallel operation with other ac generators. MX341 AVR This sophisticated AVR is incorporated into the Stamford Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG) control system. The PMG provides power via the AVR to the main exciter, giving a source of constant excitation power independent of generator output. The main exciter output is then fed to the main rotor, through a full wave bridge, protected by a surge suppressor. The AVR has in-built protection against sustained over-excitation, caused by internal or external faults. This de-excites the machine after a minimum of 5 seconds. An engine relief load acceptance feature can enable full load to be applied to the generator in a single step. If three-phase sensing is required with the PMG system the MX321 AVR must be used. We recommend three-phase sensing for applications with greatly unbalanced or highly non-linear loads. MX321 AVR The most sophisticated of all our AVRs combines all the features of the MX341 with, additionally, three-phase rms sensing, for improved regulation and performance. Over voltage protection is built-in and short circuit current level adjustments is an optional facility.

NB Continuous development of our products entitles us to change specification details without notice, therefore they must not be regarded as binding. Front cover drawing typical of product range.

Critical Analysis of a Warid Telecom Tv Commercial

...elements are followed to the letter, they certainly make for an appealing and persuasive advert. However, there also tends to be some shortcomings and/or limitations on any given advert; and probably an angle which would have perhaps provided a better perspective to the targeted public. This essay is therefore aimed at critiquing and analyzing the Warid Telecom TV advert for their campaign to register onto the Warid Pesa mobile money transfer platform. In the said advert, a cross section of different publics is presented - a student calls her dad; a guy calls his friend; a stranded young man calls another and a business man calls on another person – and all of them are saying “Please send me money right now!” The situation presented in the TV Ad depicts distressed characters who urgently require a service (money to be sent to them) which the advertiser purports to provide with as less stress as possible (of course in comparison to the competitors on the market). But this is in the punch line at the climax of the advert where WARID promotes their Mobile Money platform branded Warid Pesa as the only such service on the market where a customer neither needs to be currently subscribed on the Warid Telecom network nor have to wait before approval of their registration. The advert cleverly, yet subtly paints the comparative analysis between Warid Pesa and MTN’s Mobile Money by highlighting the fact that for other service providers, one would require to be a subscriber to the respective...

Privatization

...Privatization of Telecoms in Asia John Ure and Araya Vivorakij* Privatization viewed as a panacea for the most pressing problems besetting the modernization and development of telecommunications has become, in recent years, a widely accepted part of orthodox thinking. Wellenius, Stern, Nulty and Stern (1989) illustrate the point. ‘How should privatization be defined?’ asks the International Finance Corporation (IFC, 1995). ‘A generous stance would admit any transfer of ownership or control from public to private sector. A more exacting definition would require that the transfer be enough to give the private operators substantive independent power.’ 1 Hence, by privatization is usually meant the transfer of state-owned assets to private sector ownership, management and control typified by the sale of part or all of the shares of a state owned (and operated) telecommunications enterprise (SOTE). We shall argue that the ‘more exacting definition’ is exactly appropriate for the experience of Western economies from which it originates - see below - while it is too narrow, too precise, insufficiently ‘generous’ to capture the less clearly defined lines of demarcation between public and private capital in the context of Asian telecommunications. We shall argue that this is because the delineation between state (political society) and civil society is less well developed in Asia, certainly less well articulated in law, and unevenly developed even within single large Asian countries...

... Good Luck PART I (20 points) In well written essays of around 150 words, answer two of the following questions. 1. Carry out a STEP analysis on the extract about Mannesmann. (10 points) It was clear to many observers that by hiving off its attractive telecoms activities into a separate company Mannesmann risked becoming vulnerable to an unwelcome take-over. Tony Blair, the British Prime Minister, however, demanded that Germany treat a British attempt to take over one of its firms with the same fairness extended to Germans buying up business in Britain. He rebuked Gerhard Schroeder for fighting the take-over, making it clear that in the new global economy he should not try to block it. There seems to be widespread suspicion in Germany of everything connected with stock markets. Germany does not have a stock exchange culture, as its economy is dominated by medium-sized companies and companies which are not quoted on the stock market. ...Orascom Telecom Employees protected from spam Case Study Orascom Telecom Holding S.A.E. (“OTH”) was established in 1998 and has grown to become a leading player in the international telecommunications market. OTH is considered among the largest and most diversified network operators in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, with a mobile telephony penetration of approximately 48% in those regions, and more than 80 million subscribers as of March 31st, 2009. Orascom Telecom Holding operates GSM networks in Algeria (OTA), Egypt (Mobinil), Pakistan (Mobilink), Bangladesh (Banglalink), Tunisia (Tunisiana) and North Korea (Koryolink). OTH has an indirect equity ownership in Globalive Wireless which has been granted a spectrum license in Canada. Through its subsidiary Telecel Globe, OTH also operates in Burundi, the Central African Republic, Namibia and Zimbabwe. At OTH, all the information exchanged between the corporate headquarters and OTH subsidiaries on one side, and external vendors on the other side, is communicated by email. Email is therefore a mission-critical business application on which all corporate employees rely. Unfortunately, with 90% of its 1.5 million daily emails consisting of spam, OTH was rapidly overwhelmed by this type of malware. In order to protect its corporate email servers and users against spam and viruses, the IT security department of OTH had installed a third-party software application on the exchange servers. However, this security solution soon...
