Telepathy
I started out by asking my uncle to step into the quietest room in the house. I also asked that everyone else in the house try to stay as quiet as possible. In order to try and achieve what needed to be achieved I needed complete silence. I also didn’t want him knowing what I was doing so that way I could know if what I was doing was real. So he had no reason to be influenced. Before hand, I had set up two chairs in the room facing back to back. I didn’t know why having the chairs facing back to back would help but I felt it to be necessary. Before we got seated I started out by asking simple questions like “How was your day?” and “How are you feeling?” in an attempt to build a better rapport for the experiment to come. I then told him to take a seat and to clear his mind. I then explained to him that I needed him to answer as quickly as possible when I asked him the next question. I told him to respond instinctively. Whatever came into his mind first is what I wanted him to blurt out. I let a few minutes pass so that way he had adequate time to clear his mind and feel at ease. I asked him, “What number am I thinking of?” He quickly responded with the number 24, the number that I had been thinking of all day after conjuring up what I was going to do with my experiment. I looked at him with astonishment and he looked bewildered. I asked him why out of any number in the human understanding, he chose 24. In his answer he included that before we even started the experiment he kept getting an image of numbers. I found this to be very interesting. What I found even more interesting was the fact that I said nothing about what I was going to be doing with him except for the fact that I was going to conduct an experiment. He then asked me if that was the number that I had been thinking of and I confirmed. He was very skeptical of my answer. He said there was no

Mind reading or telepathy is the sending and receiving from human to human by means other than the bodies physical senses. Also, telepathy suggests that we have other physical senses other than seeing, hearing, taste, feeling, and smell, which makes us capable of sensing and receiving the mental images and emotions of other human being. Most people call this extrasensory perception, ESP for short. Tele is from the Greek word meaning far off or the distance and the root word pathy is the Greek word meaning to feel something from a distance. Some people think telepathy is telepathy is fake while other people think it’s just people being able to predict someone’s behavior because they know them well (Lance 5). Telepathy is not just an alternative form of communication that only a few highly developed individuals can use. We all unknowingly use it on a daily basis to supplement our verbal communication. Whenever we explain something to somebody, our thoughts telepathically convey impressions which supplement our words. This helps other people to understand us better on an intellectual level, or to empathize with...

Psi Phenomena

...of interactions between living organisms and their external environment that seem to transcend the known physical laws of nature. It is a component of the study of consciousness and the mind. We are going to look at the three classes of psi phenomena, which are mental phenomena, physical phenomena and survival phenomena. Mental Phenomena These often refer to extra sensory perceptions. In this situations people claim to send and receive information without the use of the normal five senses. They have uncommon mental capabilities. We look at some of these below. Telepathy In this event people are able to transfer thought from one mind to another without using any known form of communication. In 2014, Neuroscientist Carlos Grau (University of Barcelona) set up an experiment where some subjects in India were able to transfer information to others in France. He was able to prove the existence of telepathy. They used what they referred to as Neurological More Code. (Grau Carlos, 2014) Xenoglossy In this situation, people are able to speak languages they are not familiar with. They do not have prior exposure to the language that is they have not heard or learnt it before. We find evidence of this in the Bible (Acts2: 1-4) where the disciples were gathered and were able to speak in foreign tongues. This is often practiced in the religion of Christianity. (Bible). In other studies, a woman was hypnotized and while in the trance she was able to speak Swedish and sounded...

Parapsychology: Science or Pseudo-Science?

...In the scientific field, Parapsychology, the investigation of paranormal and psychic phenomena, is determined as pseudo-science. The difference between science and pseudo-science is pseudo-science is considered not genuine. In the article, Parapsychology: Science or Pseudo-Science, the explanation that Parapsychology is considered pseudo-science is researched based. The descriptive research method is the method that is used because it describes the difference between how science and pseudo-science is differentiated. The author doesn’t necessarily give specific experiment examples to answer the questions that are used as headings, though she describes what some psychologists have said about the subject and how they feel about it. Though while being a good research method, there are some flaws in it. Marie-Catherine Mousseau does a very good job of describing both researchers and mainstream scientists and how science and pseudo-science are related and not related. For both types of scientists, the real question was if there was any progress in parapsychology or not. Some said yes, some said no. Though, there were some flaws in this where Mousseau could have used more specific examples to explain and describe the reason behind their thoughts. That would help the reader truly understand the concept of where the scientists are coming from and where they get their information from. It is also a visual help for the reader because if the experiment is described properly, the reader...

Mediums Paranormal

...Psychic Mediums Psychic mediums are humans with what is perceived as paranormal power, giving them the supposed ability to view a portion of your future, past or present life. They rely on reading the person in front of them and the energy that is not viewable to others to give their visitors what they believe they have come for. Mediums use clairaudience to mentally hear (faculty of perceiving by sound), clairvoyance to see (faculty of perceiving things), claircognizance to know (psychic knowledge) and clairsentience to feel (psychic feelings only the medium feels) messages from spirits. Being discussed in this paper are many famous psychic mediums like Theresa Caputo, James Van Praagh and Craig Hamilton-Parker. Some may argue that physic mediums are frauds, while some may argue that their powers are entirely real. In my opinion, human ignorance can overpower reality. As stated prior, many believe that physic mediums are deceptive, as they could easily give an inquirer a very brief message about their future or loved one that may apply to many. However, those who visit a medium and are given these general messages that apply may from then on have an unrelenting faith in their ability. Although there may be no scientific way to prove that their claim is accurate or not, if their declarations do not fall drastically short of the truth, the individual receiving their message would not feel the need to disprove them. How did they find these things out? Who told them? And why...

Love

...09. 金璐 What would you do if you had only one day left to live? “What would you do if you had only one day left to live?” I asked this question to my young students when teaching English this winter. What were their answers? “I would watch television!” the first answer. “I would play with the computer!” the second one. “I would play with computer TOO.” The girl finished her sentence perfectly with a serious smile. Indeed how cute and innocent that smile was, but how seriously my heart was hurt. I was too frightened to listen to more answers like that. Ten years ago, at their age, I had a different answer: I would spend the last day of my life gazing at the face of my dear grandmother until I inscribed every detail of it onto my mind. When grandmother was getting old and weak, my family bought her a telephone so I could save time and the trouble of traveling to her home by making phone calls instead. Later we bought her a television so she could watch modern dramas by herself. Then grandma must have been, we assumed, very contented and happy. But I never really knew how grandma felt. She silently passed away without a word one night. When I heard about her death, a chilling pain pierced my empty heart. The pain grew even sharper as I tried to remember in detail exactly how grandma looked and I failed completely! How could I remember? I had not visited her for ages—it seemed like a century! My memories of her dissolved into thin air and leaked away...

On the other hand, supraliminal perception is the perception of stimuli that are above level of consciousness or awareness. Experiences that can be evoked by sensory receptors are strong enough to perceive and remember. Extrasensory Perception is the perception of objects or events through means other than sensory organs. Eyes, ears, mouth, nose and skin are sense organs used for personal experience to the external world. Bem and Honorton presented “psi”, as unusual processes of information or energy transfer that are currently unexplained in terms of known physical or biological mechanisms. ESP experiences are described below: 1. Telepathy – It is a direct communication from one mind to another without the usual visual, auditory and other sensory signals. 2. Research on Parapsychology and Its Impact on New Age

...Research on Parapsychology and its impact on New Age Describe and evaluate a major scientific breakthrough of the past 10 years, discussing the challenges faced in developing it.   Introduction Many events, phenomenon and concepts such as existence of alien and soul, channeling and telepathy, which are unexplainable, are considered to be supernatural origin. For that origin, parapsychology, which is a scientific study of paranormal behaviors and experiences, may provide the answer for us. Parapsychokinesis Pros And Cons

...series, have all tinkered along the lines of what ESP. For instances, in the Final Destination series, a character would have a vision about what would happen before the event occurs. This allowed them to escape the danger and impending death. This ability to tell the future is know as precognition, as is just one of several abilities that fall under ESP. Another ability is telepathy, communication of thoughts and ideas by means other that the senses. ESP has several advantages. First, natural disaster would be minimized, second, communication barriers would be broken, and lastly their would be less injuries in sports. First, with the ability of clairvoyance, people can predict an impending natural disaster and damage would be minimized. Evacuations for deadly storms could be made weeks, even months, in advance, and organizations, such as the Red Cross, could prepare items, such as food and clothing needed. Deaths would be minimized because people are given the ability to find adequate shelter to wait out the storm and homes could be renovated to withstand the oncoming storm. Second, with the ability of telepathy, people can now communicate with each other more appropriately. There would be no need to watch what you say around each other in the fear that it would offend them because you would know what is can and cannot be said. Unnecessary wars that start because of a break down in communication would no longer be a problem because the persons involved are able to understand what...

The Great Pyramids of Egypt are the oldest structures on earth, contain compelling evidence of a civilization far more advanced than ours, and most likely existed thousands of years before the great flood.  With their original exteriors, they could probably be seen from the moon. The Mayan Civilization left behind incredible structures containing precise calculations and prophecies regarding the exact date of end of the world........Do you know that date? A site being studied on the side of Mt.  Ararat in Turkey may be the remains of the Biblical Noah's Ark. Scientists are currently quietly investigating a site off the western tip of Cuba that some say may be part of the lost city of Atlantis. We know less about the bottom of our own seas than we do about outer space.  There is a form on the surface of Mars that strongly appears to resemble an Egyptian face carving.  Is there a link? These are just a few of the many fascinating and mysterious places we intend to visit on these pages.  From sunken...

But not only that but he soon finds out that he has the power to speak telepathically with his cousin Rosalind and also other 6 other members of his community. He begins to realize that this could be dangerous if the rest find out about their telepathy and made them fear getting caught. I think that this is similar to today because nobody wants to be different and everyone wants to fit in just like the deviants in this book. I think that they misunderstood the way the Old People(us) lived and thought that there was only one type of person and everyone was like him and they did not think that there was any diversity. But in the book lots of other groups and communities all have their own idea of the true form of a human and what they should look like. This was explained to David by his uncle Axel who used to be a sailor and sailed across many places and discovered many other groups.
