Now day’s people have less patience and lead a very busy life-style and consistently on the go. When people go out to eat they want to know they are getting fresh food, professional service. They want to come to a place they can relax and enjoy their meal and feel right at home. This is the main reason I have created the ideal place, the kind of place that will fit anyone’s life-style weather busy or relaxed. This is the place where things are done on the customer’s terms. They choose the kind of service they would like to have, how they want to pay and where they would like to sit. When you walk in, the atmosphere is always pleasant and friendly. This is the place where customers are not over crowded with tables and chairs. It has an open floor plan. This place is different than the rest, the name tells it all! “That One Place.” The menu is designed around simple phrases that everyone will remember and most likely use on a daily basis. This is the place where you can use words that are not professional words and not expected to speak proper grammar. These would be; whatever’s, I don’t cares, thing-a-majigs, what-cha-ma-call-its, dang it’s, I guess so’s, cookie things, strawberry stuff, one with the nuts, that’ll works, sure’s, doesn’t matters, I don’t knows, whatever he/she has, that one kind and many more. This is the place customers can say these words and do not have to worry about offending anyone. “That One Place” is four places in one, a coffee shop, bakery, bookstore, and a restaurant. No matter where you sit, you are still at “That One Place.” This is the place to come when you want to relax, read, do research, surf the web, meet friends, have meetings or host any occasion parties. “That One Place’s” motto is the customer decides! They decide how they want to be served, when they want to be served, how they want to pay and when they want to pay. They do

But are these assumingly non-monetary rewards and motivations enough to keep an employee performing at their full potential? The purpose of this report is to discuss and explore the idea that if the base monetary compensation of an employee is not on-par with what the employee believes they are worth, are non-salary based motivational techniques and rewards both intrinsic and extrinsic, enough to keep that employee from feeling underappreciated and dissatisfied with their working environment (Rodgers, et al., 1992). This report also proposes recommendations, and critically evaluates these proposals, in order to clarify the need of having an effective employee compensation review process in place as well as worthwhile non-monetary based motivational techniques and rewards plans. This report will argue that by incorporating a well-structured salary review program monitored by the use of Key Performance...

...Gender inequality is a significant challenge for many nations in the world, counting those in the Pacific. A critical aspect of gender inequality is the empowerment of women, with a focus on economic opportunities, decision making and women’s well- being. In many Pacific island countries, it has taken decades for the enduring view that a women’s place in society is at home in accordance with spiritual beliefs, custom, tradition, and norms. Empowering women represents a diverse range of concepts and may vary widely among individuals, cultures and countries. This essay will examine the benefits of empowering women at an individual level, benefits which can be summarized as economic, political and social. Firstly, economic empowerment is one of the most important driving forces behind economic growth and poverty reduction. Economic empowerment interprets women’s ability to act on their own and make decisions on matters that affect them. In order to increase economic advancement of women, there is an urgent need to formulate the right policies that can allow such an objective to grow unhindered by uncertainty and doubt. Education policies that encourage and offer training opportunities in developing women’s entrepreneurship opportunities and improving women’s access to finance is another major instrument in generating income, reducing poverty and improving the standards of health and so forth. Formal and non- formal education systems are the key foundations for more women participating...

...A Business Proposal to Make Ethical and Diversity Considerations to Improve the Strategic HRM Planning Process. Prepared for Jane Doe HR Director ABC Restaurant & Pub Prepared by XXXXX Personnel Director ABC Restaurant & Pub December 24, 2012 ABC’s Restaurant & Pub Ethical and Diversity Considerations to Improve the Strategic HRM Planning Process. I have gathered information over the last five weeks about department policies and best practices pertaining to ethical and diversity considerations. Based on these findings, the following proposal is presented to improve the strategic planning process. Diversity and ethics are buzzwords and are used frequently around the workplace. There are areas within both where making small changes could result in large benefits for the company’s HR strategic planning process. These considerations are important for the strategic plan because they encourage a positive company culture and decrease legal risks that could otherwise result in the demise of the company. Diversity As a restaurant and bar located in the middle of a military-base town, our personnel records indicate management has been hiring primarily a specific demographic type (women ages 18-30). Management has hired this demographic type over other demographic types more qualified. Even in an effort to appeal to specific customers, this bias can come off as discriminative and reflect negatively on the company. Two areas in need of consideration...

Compare the Methods the Poets Use to Explore the Connection Between People and the Places in Which They Live in ‘Hurricane Hits England’ and One Other Poem.

...Compare the methods the poets use to explore the connection between people and the places in which they live in ‘Hurricane Hits England’ and one other poem. In the two poems ‘Hurricane Hits England’ and ‘Presents From My Aunts In Pakistan’ both poets use a variety of literary techniques such as the setting style and themes to invoke within the reader a sense of the narrators nationality in the poem. The poem ‘Presents From My Aunts In Pakistan’ is set in England with a girl remembering her previous life in Pakistan. The poet Moniza Alvi depicts the dilemma of the young Asian girl who is growing up in England but family and relatives are strongly rooted in Pakistani culture and traditions. She feels lost, she’s confused about her identity and she feels ‘half-English.’ This indicates that she is not truly identifying with English cultures. The poem is written as a first person narrative to enable us to share her story, the reader can identify more easily with one person. Imagery is used throughout the poem, ‘Glistening like an orange split open.’ This enables the reader to visualise, hence become more involved and the poem becomes more alive. The conflict between her two cultures felt by this young girl is juxtaposed throughout the poem this reinforces the differences between the two nationalities. ‘My salwar kameez didn’t impress the school friend.’ Her friends did not like beautiful, top quality, traditional Pakistani clothes. The poet also makes a political comment by...

How Does Shakespeare Use Representations of Speech and Other Dramatic Techniques to Convey the Relationship Between Angelo and Isabella in the Passage Below and One Place Elsewhere in the Text?

...The passage opens by Isabella using a speech representations, she refers to Angelo as ‘my lord’ this mode of address reinforces the difference in class and also the respect that Isabella must give to him, not only because he is in charge but also he could potentially save Claudio’s life. A common thought that has been displayed in many plays such as Measure for Measure is that men are weak and women are the strong willed ones who cannot be lustful but for a man it is more acceptable and for a dramatic twist Angelos turns round to Isabella and states a declarative ‘we are all frail’, he reinforces his point by again stating ‘women are frail too’. To Angelo’s short remarks Isabella replies with a paragraph agreeing with his thoughts, this can be seen as a dramatic technique as Isabella is strong willed and stubborn yet she agrees as states that even she is weak - which could potentially encourage him - but her agreeing can also help bring to light just how much power he has. ‘call us ten times frail; for we are soft as our complexions are’. He has so much power that Isabella must agree with what he says if its harmless. Shakespeare uses the dramatic technique of presenting Isabella as either naive or a really dedicated soon to be nun, but not letting Isabella know that Angelo is talking actually talking about wanting to sleep with her. Shakespeare highlights that Isabella hasn’t been aware of Angelo's intentions as previously they spoke and Isabella offered ‘gifts’ but in her...

Non-smokers should not have to live with the consequences of smokers' actions. http://www.publishyourarticles.net/knowledge-hub/essay/an-essay-on-should-smoking-be-banned-in-public-places.html Many surveys, studies and scientific research has proved that smoking is injurious to health. Smoke is unhealthy and suffocating. It pollutes the environment. There are two types of smokers - active and passive. The person who smokes is active and other who are near to him and inhale the smoke are passive smokers. Both are equally affected by the ill effects of smoking. Smokers and non-smokers meet at many places like offices, buses, hotels, etc. So, considering the bad effects of smoking on individual's health, environment as well as individual rights, it should be banned in public places. A person who wants to smoke can do so by keeping himself in isolation. The smoking of cigarette is glamorized through advertisements. More and more young boys and girls are attracted by this. Even the 'statutory warning' on the cigarette packets does not stop them. The young generation think that those who smoke are smart, modern and intellectual. However, smoking is...

For him, I would recommend that his teacher work with him on identifying numbers in the ones and tens place, and showing him step by step how to carry the tens place over instead of carrying the ones place over. For him I would also recommend using problems that are adding two two-digit numbers that require regrouping from the ones place to the tens place. For Moniqua, her error is that she is not regrouping at all in the ones place. When she is adding the ones place numbers together she is not carrying over the tens place but instead writing the entire number in the answer. For her, I would recommend that the teacher work with her on regrouping, and carrying the tens place over. For her I would also recommend using problems that are adding two two-digit numbers that require regrouping from the ones place to the tens place. For Pablo, his error was being unable to recognize the addition sign and subtraction sign. For him, I would recommend that the teacher work with him on identifying the signs before working out the problem. With Pablo, however, since he was shown to have no errors on the other problems, it should be able to be fixed in a quick mini-lesson. 6....

Power and Place in a Globalised World

...Power and Place in a Globalised World The world we live in has become increasingly globalised in the last few decades, and is continuing to do so further. Globalisation has caused the study of Human Geography to become more important in today’s world. The topics of power and place are huge parts of this study. Globalisation has caused our world to become smaller and more accessible. However, globalisation has led to an uneven development across countries. The idea of power is highly concentrated in well-developed countries, but is almost non-existent in countries that can’t compete with the modern and fast-paced lifestyle in countries of Western Europe, North America, and Australia and so on. The world has in fact become a “global village”. Countries are well-connected and with global flows of goods and services and capital. This has caused a massive gap between the rich and poor. Although power is uneven and unfairly distributed across countries worldwide, the idea of place isn’t. Place is something unique and treasured in each country, regardless of how globally connected that country is. Globalisation has merely caused different cultures in various societies to be influenced by each other and caused merging of different traditions and customs. Each place however, is unique to its own. The idea behind globalisation is to make the world become more integrated and connected. Although this is true for the most part, there is a clear uneven development of power across the world...

Place Verses Identity

...Forest (1995) the article suggests that the making of a place often involves identity and that the role of place is important in creating identity specially when we examine the making of a sexual orientation identity such as gay people. This article shows how the elements of identity or I should say the characteristics of identity define the gay community of West Hollywood. West Hollywood in California has become one of the largest gay communities in the world. The people living in this outlined community are defined as gay people because they have been or identify themselves with the seven elements that identify gay people. These characteristics are defined in creativity, aesthetic sensibility, orientation towards entertainment or consumption, progressiveness, responsibility, maturity, and centrality. West Hollywood reinforces and welcomes individuals with these characteristics in lifestyle. I am not saying every gay person possesses these seven elements, however West Hollywood has become the one place where persons who have some or all of these characteristics seem to roam or go to this particular area because it has defined itself as a gay community. Many gay men have moved here specifically as it has been defined as a place where they can actually, "come out" without being ridiculed. They can be accepted here for who they are and what they have been defined as because they were born with these elements. They can use this place because it has been defined by the same elements that...

Home

...Davis October 2, 2014 Bethany Quest III First Essay What is Home? The definition of home is the place where one lives permanently, especially as a member of a family or household or an institution for people needing professional care or supervision. This definition describes home in the most basic form that truly has no other meaning. The first definition does not take into account the millions of people who possibly do not have a permanent residence or who has no family. It seems to suggest home is a place without personal value; well I think that the term home has a considerably large amount of personal significance that give it a different definition depending on each individual. Home is a place that one would want to go to. “I just want to go home”, clearly indicates a want to go to a certain place. This goes back into the notion that home does not specifically have to be a house. There are plenty of people who feel at home in places that are nowhere close to a permanent residence. There are some people who live in the city, but feel like they are at home when they visit the mountain side. To feel at home, I think, constitutes being at home no matter where it may be. It is a place where people can be content or possibly happy. Home is a place where one could live according to who they feel that they are. Home is a place of expression. It may seem like this is only true for those who own their own house and can decorate it according to...
