There are many technological similarities and differences between the 1950’s and the 2000’s. The technology from the 1950’s is considered primitive compared to the technology today, which is almost considered unreal with all of the tech gadgets we have today.
In the 1950’s, the technology was very basic. Televisions were very small and many were in black and white. You normally couldn’t get but a few channels. Prior to the 50s only a select amount of places had television available. By the end of the 50s almost the entire western hemisphere had a TV in their homes. Which brought families together and allowed them to enjoy their free time. It also was a sign that the world is starting to become more modern on technology.
In the 2000’s, the technology is very much more advanced than that of the 50’s. The televisions now are way different. With …show more content…
As for the TVs of both decades, they keep many families occupied and keep them together. TVs can possibly be used as a symbol of unity between most families. The TVs are way different, in the 50’s many weren't in color compared to all the TVs today that have crystal clear color.
In the 1950’s the computers were somewhat advanced for their time. Already having computer modems in them during the 1950’s was large advance for that time. Though, most of those computers were really big,and very slow making it hard for people to use. The computers often took up whole rooms and required at least 2-3 people to operate it. Many of the computers that were around were predominately for government use.
In the 2000’s the computers are even better, they’re a work of art. Instead of massive computer that take up a whole room, we have laptops. Laptops are way smaller and are portable, and they only require one person to use it. Making many people's lives way easier and way more efficient. Also, now they’re available to everyone and not just for the government, now allowing us to do stuff

Assignment 2 4g Wireless Networks

...technologically savvy consumers are demanding more and more from wireless companies. Today, there are two wireless standards; 3G and 4G. 4G Wireless Networks When you look at 3G and 4G wireless networks you can compare and contrast them in four areas: service and application, network architecture, data throughput and user perceptions. “Compare and contrast 3G wireless networks to 4G networks in terms of services and applications” Applications are the primary reason consumers use smart-phones today. They get hooked on the convenience the applications bring to their lives. 3G is the first wireless network to provide these capabilities for consumers. For the first time they were able to have a video call with a family member on the go, they were able to stream movies and video, and even able to video conference on the go with the office. 4G picked up where 3G left off, it provided the capability to access information at the same speeds that you could on your computer at home. Consumers are now playing video games on the go, watching live sports events and high definition television on the go. Technically 4G is a new iteration of 3G technologies, but carriers chose to call it 4G as a marketing advantage to get consumers to switch companies. “Compare and contrast 3G wireless networks to 4G networks in terms of network architecture” The key differences in the two wireless networks are the network architectures they travel on. 3G mobile...

Discussion of - Beauty: When the Other Dancer Is the Self / the Great Imagination Heist

...with “great spirit.” She goes on to narrate by saying “It was great fun being cute. But then, one day, it ended”. This referred to a time when she was 8 years old and was shot in the eye by a bb gun held by her brother. He then said “If you tell, we will get a whipping. You don’t want that to happen, do you?” Ms. Walker often narrates this way, quoting persons from her past and then adding in her thoughts on them in third person. After this accident, she lost her sight and would not look up like she used to; she didn’t have the same peppy attitude she always had. At 14 her eye was fixed and her spirit returned. She began to see the world as she once did and her life seemed to pick up where it left off at the accident. By her late 20’s and into her 30’s after she had a daughter, she came to see the defect in her eye in a new light, she embraced and loved it. In my opinion, this reinforces the topic of her story as her being a woman with “great spirit.” The Great Imagination Heist If I were to grade Reynolds Price’s essay based on the “Rubric for English 101 Essays” outline he’d get a D-. Three sentences make up his first paragraph, the first of which is very ambiguous and can’t be a thesis. The second saying “Most high-school graduates have spent more time watching television than they’ve spent in school” could be a thesis for a paper, although too broad, but his paper mainly speaks of imagination. This leaves us with his third sentence as a thesis, but only the end of the sentence...

Comperative Essay

...Jon Gjebrea WRIT 1010 / 50 April 25, 2012 Dr. Lydia Wazir Comperative essay Compare two countries In this essay I am going to concentrate on clear contrasts between Albania and Italy- one of the countries from central Europe. These countries have different population, food, area. However, one may find their natural environment similar- in both countries there are politics, seas, and other components. When you think about the two countries- Albania and Italy, you may find them completely different at the first glance. During World War II beside Nazis, Albania was also under Italian regime and I might say that there everything started. Every single citizen of Albania as a second language has Italian, they are also into Italian fashion, and they mostly prefer Italian food rather than Albanian one. Due to the strategic geographical position Albania was always seen as a country that everyone could benefit from. Albania is quite a small country with a population of 4.1 million, basically equal to one main city of Italy. Albania officially is known as the Republic of Albania, it is situated in Southern Europe. It borders with Montenegro to the northwest, Kosovo to the northeast, the Republic of Macedonia to the east and Greece to the south and southeast. It has a coast on the Adriatic Sea to the west, and from the Ionian Sea to the southwest. It is less than 72 km (45 mi) from Italy, across the Strait of Otranto which links the Adriatic Sea to the Ionian Sea. Meanwhile Italy...

C489 Task 3: Organizational Systems and Quality Leadership

...C489 Organizational Systems and Quality Leadership Task 3 Jennifer Gentry Western Governors University A1. Country to compare and A2. Access The country I chose to compare with the United States healthcare system is Japan. Access to healthcare in Japan is fairly easy. Every individual, including the unemployed, children and retirees, is covered by signing up for a health insurance policy. They can obtain insurance either through their work or through a community based insurance. For those Japanese citizens that are too poor to afford health insurance, the government supplies their insurance through a social insurance. If a Japanese citizen loses his/her job and becomes unemployed, the individual will just switch to a community based insurance rather than a work insurance (Reid, 2008). In contrast, in the United States, if you become unemployed, you lose your health insurance. An individual can, however, obtain insurance through a private source but it is often more expensive. In 2010, The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was signed into law in the United States. The PPAAC was designed to enhance coverage for uninsured or low-income Americans. This was met with much controversy since a large number of Americans felt like it was unconstitutional for the government to mandate that American citizens who were not insured by another source purchase this healthcare or otherwise have to pay a fine based on percent of income through yearly taxes. There are numerous...
