Sara Howard often experiences the same agonizing annoyance that most women face while their boyfriends play video games. She can’t stand the overly offensive obscenities or the fact that her boyfriend refers to a night of gaming with his friends as “The Big Dick Party.” But Howard noticed something when her boyfriend, Marc Johnson, began playing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. “I stopped hearing him screaming about how he was going to have violent sex with someone’s mother, which was definitely a huge relief.” Howard said. She noticed that Johnson quit snapping his keyboard in half and that the sounds of breaking plastic were replaced with soft clicks from the computer mouse.
