In the film Gattaca Vincent is placed in a society where it is better to have chosen traits than it is to leave the traits you have up to chance. In the movie it is called Genoism which is pretty much the same thing as racism. In America there is not to much racism anymore, but in Gattaca there is a lot of racism, but in the form of genoism. There are also similarities between America and Gattaca where the better job you have the better life you are able to lead. The reason America is so popular is because of the idea of the “American Dream”, which is that no matter what position you are put in, or where you’re from if you work hard enough you can do anything you want.
